Good Morning Everyone ,
Its dark and wet here in brackley this morning, a quiet day of watching cyclo cross on TV to see how the Brits do, then more TV later on mainstream .
I am going to make a cottage pie cheat menu , with tin of mince beef and onion ,and ready made mash with a sprinkling of cheese grated of course .
Take care,
Mick

Good morning!
Dark and wet here too near Bath, I really would like a spell of dry weather please.......
Enjoy your cottage pie Mick, I’m all for short cuts when it comes to cooking ?
Looking like another soggy dog walk this morning, not that she seems to mind!
Hope everyone has a peaceful day x

Good morning from a dry but breezy Torbay.

Church at 9.30 a.m. where I look forward to seeing some children amongst the congregation since it’s a family service. Last night we noticed that Lidl's brochure included various joint supports and a heated back belt which could prove useful for DH, who is still waiting to be seen by a rheumatologist in France. Products we shall investigate later.

Enjoy a relaxing day, if you can. ?????

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dark and wet. It’s been dreary for so long I’m thinking of asking my sister in law to send me a photo of their sky.

Before my first cuppa this morning I’ve put a gammon in the slow cooker for us to have when Beechnutella comes over later today. I shall be glad to see her as I’ve not seen anyone for two weeks. Before she comes I’ll tidy up. I won’t Hoover as grand dog is coming and he does like to leave his fur everywhere ?
That’ll be a job for another day. While Beechnutella is here I’m going to ask her to help me move the microwave. It’ll be safer to do that with both of us.

Have a good day all and enjoy your roasts ??

Good morning all from a still dark North Leicestershire. Not sure what the weather is doing at the moment but it poured at about 4am.

Off to watch Bertie play football and then his dad is coming to help us move the bed in readiness for the decorators arriving on Wednesday. We are having to decamp to a spare room for about 10 days. Roast rib of beef for dinner.

Late (for me) good morning from a grey E Kent - again. We did have some lovely sunshine yesterday though.
Another quiet day both yesterday and today. We’re keeping away from people to help DS stay negative for tomorrow’s journey back to India.
Church sounds lovely Ash. I do like seeing children there.
May today bring more little nuggets of happiness and a few flamingos. ????☀️❤️

Jaxjacky Sun 02-Jan-22 07:32:55

Good morning from a dark S Hants where I too heard rain earlier. Out to lunch today for my son’s 31st birthday, if all lft’s are clear, we’ll be 8.
A walk after if the rain holds off.
Have a pleasant Sunday all ???

Morning everyone sounds breezy outside but haven’t looked to see what the weather is doing .would be nice to see some blue sky , but I doubt that will happen.
Had a damp Misty walk on the coast yesterday .lots of people doing the same .
A quiet day today , maybe a bit of tidying up ,then will settle down and do some reading . Lasagne for dinner , .had a roast yesterday .
Take care and have a good day .thoughts to those feeling down or with troubles ?

Good Morning everyone from the south coast where the mild weather continues - for now. The darkness is just lifting but I am not hopeful of seeing any sun.

Today we are doing laundry and taking down the Christmas decs. - such as they are. Chicken kievs, leeks and new potatoes for the main meal which we have at lunchtime. Seems to suit our elderly digestions better to eat then than later on.

Have the best day you can everyone. Spring is on its way but may be a little time yet. sunshine

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s very mild and cloudy
Happy Birthday to your DS Jax I hope you all enjoy your family lunch out
Yesterday we all went for a lovely walk at Anglesey Abbey, a local NT property. The DGSs really enjoyed running around and playing hide and seek amongst the big trees. DD1 cooked us a delicious roast dinner and then we spent the evening playing card games. Not sure what we’re doing yet today when everyone is eventually up
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from a wet, windy south Cornwall. The allotment can wait another day. Lying in bed planning some shelving as my son gave me a power drill set for Christmas, yippee. 156 pieces, may use three or four. grin

Good morning Mick and all who follow ( and went before) .
Decs are coming down today, I need to get them into fewer crates this year.
Soup made yesterday so that’s lunch sorted, MrOops will take dog out for a wet walk later, its 10 degrees cloudy and breezy I. Oxfordshire this morning, let’s hope it stays dry for once.
There have been people staying in the empty (of people ) house next door, they are either in the process of clearing it out or it has been sold with everything still in it, cars parked in the lane ( making it difficult for tractors etc.) and an empty huge driveway!
Anyway, we shall see what happens, hopefully no redevelopment.
Have a good day everyone. With special wishes for those who aren t so chipper today.

Good morning from mild, damp Colchester.
There was sun here yesterday and we tidied the garden. The mild weather meant lots of weeding was needed. There are buds and shoots everywhere as nature thinks it's spring.
Not sure what we're doing today. Leftover pizza and roast beef to eat.
Love to all ? x

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, its 7° here.

I have absolutely no plans for today. Once DD and SIL leave, we will watch online Mass. I had an unexpected call from my Parish Priest yesterday, concerned that I hadn't been seen for weeks and asking if he could visit, because he had a gift for me, to thank me for my support ( mostly virtual, and electronic!) in a very difficult year. I was very touched, I thought no-one would notice my absence.

After lunch I plan to retreat to my office, the conservatory, to watch the very last episode of my Turkish TV series, which I have been saving as a treat. Its a bit like a Turkish version of Dallas, full of intrigue, lies and machinations! Oh, and did I mention the handsome men? wink

We had a lovely day with DD and SIL yesterday, with DD cooking a delicious roast. Some tension did arise, with DD, who is now used to cooking with electricity, constantly complaining about how useless gas is for cooking! How dare she criticise my beloved range!!
There was a lot of tongue biting and sitting on hands, as I tried not to interfere!
Thank goodness I was able to relocate to the utility room, where I was frantically and frustratingly, trying to get my boozy marmalade for my neighbours to set. I suspect that my jam maker like me, like me is kaput!

DH, who has always disliked board games, won Ticket to Ride for the third family occasion in a row. I suspect it this reluctance to play is actually an act to lull us into a false sense of security! I came second, which was a miracle, as I am usually last!
It's not about the winning, but the taking part. ?

My thoughts are with Granny Somerset and all those who have family who are ill just now. Hoping to hear of more progress being made by Maria's wee grandson.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

I meant to say, I was delighted to see Alerizin and Bellasnanna posting over the last few days!

Alerizin, the patio fruit trees are thriving!

Grandmajean Sun 02-Jan-22 08:06:57

Morning all from Cheshire.
Much quieter day than expected yesterday as friends who were coming for the day had to cancel due to chesty coughs. Not worth the risk so will get together in a few weeks when all recovered.
Have as good a day as possible everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 02-Jan-22 08:20:28

Morning Mick and all

Grey and breezy here in S E Essex, not sure what the forecast for the rest of the day is.

I have decided to take the Christmas decorations down today, first time ever that they haven’t stayed until twelfth night.

Roast pork for dinner this evening.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Stilllearning Sun 02-Jan-22 08:24:23

Morning from DD2’s house in baubles neck of the woods, where I’m back in bed with a cup of tea, silence still reigning here. It was very wet yesterday, no idea what it’s like just now but I can hear the wind getting up again.

A lovely relaxing day yesterday here, joined for lunch by DSiL’s mum, in her mid eighties and struggling with ill health. Her family are extremely good to her but she really needs a major repair operation which doctors are reluctant to try. She is going to have it if possible because her quality of life is really poor now.

Online mass later today and then home, thankful for a pleasant Christmas and New Year and perhaps gather my thoughts about 2022.

Wishing everyone a good day and of course remembering those of us with extra worries and cares just now ???

Gingster Sun 02-Jan-22 08:25:00

Good morning all . It was a lovely morning and early afternoon here in Essex yesterday. Not sure what today will be like. The evenings are slowly drawing out and as I dog walked at 4.40 it was still quite light.
DD still in hospital, so ongoing worry and child care .

Will do a roast for us all today.

Will take down decs etc.

Wishing you all a gentle day.

baubles Sun 02-Jan-22 08:26:23

Good morning Mick, morning all from soggy South Lanarkshire.

My PCR was positive, no surprise really although I had held out hopes that I just had a bad cold. My chest is tight and sore and I feel wiped out so it’ll be a day on the sofa for me. Yesterday DD came and collected daft dug to stay with them for a few days, I did miss her last night.

Kind thoughts to those struggling and wishing everyone a peaceful day.

GrannySomerset Sun 02-Jan-22 08:39:07

Up early because sleep eludes me (at night - no problem dozing in front of the TV). DH drifting further and further away and has tested positive so visiting him, while allowed, poses a risk. DD has decided against and I suspect DS will too but I will go some time today for a short while just in case he knows I am there. This is a strange time, waiting for the event I dread yet want and I seem unable to focus on anything. The kind and supportive thoughts of all of you really do make a difference and are a tremendous help.

Anniebach Sun 02-Jan-22 08:42:02

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Urmstongran Sun 02-Jan-22 08:43:27

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry. It hammered it down with rain in the night. It seems mild out.

No cooking being done here today. I suggested to my stepfather that the three of us eat at his favourite Italian restaurant for a late lunch. Himself will fetch him. I will just walk round the corner and meet them in there.

Hopefully the 8 of you test -ve Jax and you all get to meet up for the birthday boy’s lunch. Enjoy Sunday all who can. x

Marydoll Sun 02-Jan-22 08:50:09

Baubles ?
Take care!

Chrissielou Sun 02-Jan-22 08:53:08

Good morning from a grey mild Oxfordshire, there is a little brightness peeping through. Will take the tree down and pack away the decorations, by the time I bring them out again I'm hoping my daughter will be cancer free and well again. She faces a gruelling 8 months.
Sending a virtual hug to all those in pain, whether it be physical or emotional pain.
