Have a 70th birthday party planned for the 22nd January, having doubts about people wanting to mix. Would you attend a party for approximately 120 people ? Need to make a decision!

No

DaisyL Wed 05-Jan-22 13:48:39

MissChateline it looks as though you and I are the only people who would have been prepared to go to this party! Like you I have been triple vaccinated and life really has to start going forward.

OMG DEFINITELY YES!
Send me the address, I'm in need of a good party!

Nannina Wed 05-Jan-22 13:53:30

Definitely not. I’m keeping my social contacts down to the bare minimum and testing a couple of days after any occurrence. I spent the best part of the first year of the pandemic shielding so make the most of cautious and careful interactions

Happysexagenarian Wed 05-Jan-22 13:55:53

Absolutely not.

GrannyGear Wed 05-Jan-22 14:36:26

No. Nothing to do with Covid etc just don't like crowds. Wouldn't enjoy being with so many people.

Because I have a measure of common sense the answer is, DEFINITELY NOT

Millie22 Wed 05-Jan-22 16:10:04

No. It would be lovely to go to a party oh I wish but outside in the spring would be a safer option.

Froglady Wed 05-Jan-22 16:12:03

Not at the moment I wouldn't.

Iam64 Wed 05-Jan-22 16:17:22

No I wouldn’t.
We are invited to a summer wedding in Italy. It’s over 4 days, with many restaurant meals and a large group of 30 somethings who are party people. I may duck out….

Esspee Wed 05-Jan-22 16:26:32

Surprised you need to ask. It would be an emphatic no from me.

knspol Wed 05-Jan-22 16:35:52

Definitely not.

Nannashirlz Wed 05-Jan-22 16:37:02

I wouldn’t report you but then I wouldn’t attend being vulnerable. But unfortunately life isn’t that easy and you will always get someone who will.

Dianehillbilly1957 Wed 05-Jan-22 16:37:07

Definitely NO at the moment, why don't you delay and perhaps have it during the summer when the weather should be nicer, folk can then maybe mix outside and doors can be open.. Whatever you decide I hope it all goes well and stay safe..

Mallin Wed 05-Jan-22 16:52:22

Sorry but I’ve not reached 76yrs by being daft about my health. I wouldn’t go to a large party or be stupid enough to give one. If our Queen can sit alone at her husbands funeral then I can cope with not having my extended family about on a birthday celebration. Can’t you?

love0c Wed 05-Jan-22 17:05:30

If you are fit and healthy, then yes.

Maremia Wed 05-Jan-22 17:08:54

Seriously?

MayBeMaw Wed 05-Jan-22 17:12:29

OP has already said the party has been postponed/cancelled.
End of.

dizzygran Wed 05-Jan-22 18:08:13

Another absolutely Not - even if it was 20.

Lucca Wed 05-Jan-22 18:22:27

Party has been cancelled ! Read the thread !

Alioop Wed 05-Jan-22 18:23:44

No, I wouldn't attend.

GreyKnitter Wed 05-Jan-22 19:35:02

I wouldn’t even consider it! It’s a def no from me.

DutchDoll Wed 05-Jan-22 21:32:45

I'm triple vaccination but I'm on steroids for PMR which means that I have no antibodies despite the triple vacs! No from me but even if I had antibodies it would still be no as I consider it to be too big a risk!

MissAdventure Wed 05-Jan-22 21:36:29

Is that polymyalgia rheumatica?
Do the steroids mean that immunity is wiped out, please?

Harris27 Wed 05-Jan-22 22:10:17

Sorry no sorry wouldn’t risk it.
