anyone tried the new online Wordle word game?

Try to use as many vowels as possible.

I did a few Wordle Unlimiteds while I was in a waiting room this afternoon.

For the first time, I just couldn't get one of the answers

The answer was petit which is a French word
Had I realised that foreign words are allowed I might have got it!

My husband looked it up and the probability of this is 1 in 12,500. I would have thought it would be greater.

Thanks for the link, I'd heard vague murmurings about this game but hadn't tried it. Got it in 3 - I'm hooked!

First attempt, so took a few minutes to get the hang of it. Got it in six. Try harder tomorrow!

For me proxy was just because I’d been reading an account of a woman who found out she’d been married by proxy. It was a bigger shock for her than finding that was the right word was for me. So today reading about Anton du Beke, I tried the same strategy but with waltz. Suffice to say I didn’t get it in one today.

So far it’s been 4 every day. Today’s start word was FACET.

FannyCornworth OH and I both have the same strategy of using the 15 most commonly used letters first, he didn't tell me the word and he didn't tell me what words he'd used but he did say that he got today's word in three and he got 2 correct in the first word and three in the second, so he had an anagram for his third go. Actually, he gave me quite a lot of information about the sort of word it might be but today's word is one I sometimes use as my second try. Guessing "proxy" in one is completely different though. I got it in four yesterday but struggled initially to find any word to make with what I'd found and what was left tbh I think "proxy" was the only one. fwiw I would never use x or y in either of the first two words. I think some of us use a strategy and others don't.
