six tries at getting the word right..... just one word a day...if the letter turns grey it is not in the word..... etc.

Nerdle is tough but I reduced the number of columns from 8 to 6, got the hang of it and then tried 8 columns. You are allowed a go on each setting every day.

Grannyrebel7 nerdlegame.com/ Good luck. I'm hooked.

3 today on Wordle. I’m keeping off Nerdle - I tried it once and it scrambled my brain. smile

I’ve just got it in one! Went to bed and couldn’t sleep. Noticed the time was a minute after midnight. I entered the first 5 letter random word I could think of to get me started and it was the correct word!!

FannyCornforth Mon 31-Jan-22 00:15:48

Six! My first six! shock
Mind you, I made a ridiculous mistake on my second go and entered the same letter in exactly the same wrong place (idiot), so I didn’t really deserve anything better!

3 today
My first gave me a green and orange. I had quite a few words that would fit. Lucky again.
Whew!

Well done Grannynannywanny.

Off to bed.

I’ve no hope of sleeping now after my lucky guess and solving it in one. I think I need to go back downstairs and pour myself a ?

FannyCornforth Mon 31-Jan-22 00:37:54

Ashcombe Mon 31-Jan-22 07:24:23

Impressive, Grannynannywanny! No wonder you couldn’t sleep. I scored four which is a regular score for me.

Oldnproud Mon 31-Jan-22 07:53:58

5 this time. It was the first letter that got me again - then again - then again!

Marydoll Mon 31-Jan-22 08:00:44

Three tries so far, I am way off! I need to think about it!

Grannynannywanny Mon 31-Jan-22 08:12:10

When I first woke this morning I was thinking I’d had a funny dream where I’d solved Wordle in 1 at a minute after midnight . Then it slowly dawned on me it wasn’t a dream. I went back to look and it definitely happened!

Wordle 226 1/6

?????

Maggiemaybe Mon 31-Jan-22 08:40:06

Grannynannywanny grin

Jaxjacky Mon 31-Jan-22 08:41:19

In 3, happy with that.

kittylester Mon 31-Jan-22 08:41:57

It took me all 6 goes. Everyone else in my family got it in 3!!

FannyCornforth Mon 31-Jan-22 08:50:33

I got Nerdle in 4!
I can’t believe it! As I mentioned up thread, I have dyscalculia.

I followed your link in the GM thread on a whim, Marydoll, and I’m so glad that I did! smile Thank you

foxie48 Mon 31-Jan-22 09:08:34

4 again, I got three letters in the correct place by my second go but again picked a word that fitted but not the right one. That's where the luck comes in (or in my world, doesn't!)

seacliff Mon 31-Jan-22 09:23:17

Not tried yet. Grannywanny, maybe you should buy a lottery ticket today!!!
Muse, thanks for the link to Nerdle, I like Sudoku, so when I'm feeling more awake I'll try it. smile

Grannynannywanny Mon 31-Jan-22 09:30:55

Grannywanny, maybe you should buy a lottery ticket today!!!

seacliff I tried to do just that 15 mins after my freaky guess! But found that the online national lottery site doesn’t sell tickets overnight. Thanks for the reminder, I’m off to do it now ?

TillyTrotter Mon 31-Jan-22 09:42:31

? Grannynwanny
Took 3 goes today and that’s a good result for me.

tanith Mon 31-Jan-22 10:00:56

3 for me that’s an improvement.

mokryna Mon 31-Jan-22 10:03:28

Congratulations grannywanny What are your euro million numbers this week?

FannyC I did nearly the same thing on the second line, by choosing a word which had the same letter twice, criminal.
