anyone tried the new online Wordle word game?

Took me 5 today. It wasn’t a good word to start off with - but I got there!

So much is luck with what you put on the first line. I’m pleased to have scored three today.

And 3 for me.

3 for me today. I suppose we can soon expect it to be crammed with adverts now it’s been taken over by the New York Times.

Amazingly I also solved it in 3 today. Pure luck as it depends what your starting word is.

5 today. Happy enough with that.

Despite getting confused with what green and yellow mean, and repeatedly putting things in the same wrong place. ?

I've done that a number times!

Once I had to deliberately put one in the wrong place simply to get a proper word to release some new letters.

Well done Fanny. I looked at Nerdle the other day and quickly left without even attempting it.

Gnw no one can be worse at arithmetic than me. Honestly.

It’s very early days as I’ve only done two, but so far it’s much easier than I anticipated.
I just use a process of elimination

I quickly left Nerdle as well, but it lured me back, Grannynannywanny. And I’m hopeless at it.

I bet Wordle will become part of the NY Times daily briefing now. I get it - it’s free - and it has a puzzle section, a tiny crossword and a word game that’s good fun, till they cut you off halfway through because you have to subscribe to get any further.

The New York Times has a special offer which I took out a couple of weeks ago - £2 per month for a year, then £8 per month, can cancel anytime.

It's an informative read with loads of interesting articles.

I hope the guy who invented Wordle (British?) gets a good cut of the dosh paid by NYTimes.

3 today, first word contained 2 correct letters, which gave me a good start. I always use the first two attempts as a means of elimination and the second go really helped me to solve it in three. Hence I never score a 2!

I’m still a bit surprised that not much credit is given to Mastermind Word, from the 1970s, and ITV’s Lingo, from the 1980s.

Read an article which said the best word to start with is - LATER. Tried it on Wordle unlimited - failed to get the word 3 times, won't be trying that tomorrow!

You have to apply for Copywright for an ‘invention/idea’ I believe Maggiemaybe if you want to get the plaudits and the profits.

I appear to have somehow resolved the problem of getting the wrong page, after many futile attempts, not sure how ?. Thank you for your help.
Did it in 4 yesterday and 3 today.

The tv was on the other day, and there was a show called lingo.
It was an exact copy of worldle, but much faster paced.

4 again today, loving this game!
