Good morning from the edge of S Lanarkshire where I am dog sitting again while DD and DSiL are both on the same shift. They don’t like him to be on his own for too long. To add to the mix their heating has broken down and I feel guilty about the fan heater which is keeping me warm as I feel it is eating electricity. Fortunately the local ‘boilerman’ is hoping to repair things this afternoon.

For various reasons I’ve not been sleeping properly for quite some time and I am exhausted so a quiet few days here should be just the ticket. Yesterday , coming home from a funeral and sitting in a long line of traffic I actually ‘nodded off’ and got a real fright.

Thinking of you and your DD Chrissielou and your daughter Gingster ?

Up now for breakfast and dog walking, or at least strolling, he’s a lovely wee thing and will be happy to get out.

Best wishes to all for a decent day???

Lins1066 Thu 13-Jan-22 08:15:58

Good morning from a very frosty corner of the S Welsh coast.
Cleaner coming this morning and a supermarket delivery this afternoon. Our dog seems fine after his general anaesthetic, but he absolutely hates the cone he has to wear for 10 days, we will try and look for an alternative. My thoughts and best wishes to your dd's Gingster and Chrissielou
I'm glad you had some answers from the cardiologist "Mary* , enjoy your visit from Dollie.
Glad to hear that olddudders had a good journey back "Ash*.
Take care all and have a good day.

Grandmajean Thu 13-Jan-22 08:17:41

Difficult times Chrissielou and Gingster
My good wishes to your daughters .
Very cold here in Cheshire. Can see frost outside.
Love today's Matt cartoon. A bit of cheering up is always a good thing.

brook2704 Thu 13-Jan-22 08:18:54

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s mild and dry and it’s definitely windy .. Thanks to Pantglas for the warmth and also Laura for working those bellows so well, I’m expecting the sun to arrive shortly
Today there’s a new aerobics class at the gym so I’ll be giving it a try and then over to the kitchen showroom to finalise the details of our new utility room installation and to pay up! We’re also going away tomorrow to the south of England so I’ll be busy packing for that
Thinking of chrissielou Gingster and harrigran with worries over their DDs, hoping all goes well
Gorgeous picture Gingster a talented DGD there!
Marydoll ?
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings

Grandmadinosaur Thu 13-Jan-22 08:20:33

Good morning all from East Yorkshire.

I’m feeling a bit off today so am still in bed. Unusually for me I have felt full of energy for a few days so made the most of it. I think things have caught up with me. I have thyroid issues so I’m used to how it affects me. I am due to meet DIL for coffee later so I’m sure I will be up to that especially as I haven’t seen baby since last week.

You’re in my thoughts Chrisselou and Gingster ? also Marydoll too.

Take care all.

Jaxjacky Thu 13-Jan-22 08:21:23

Thoughts with you and your family Chrissielou as well as Gingster difficult months ahead, I send you strength and hope.

AGAA4 Thu 13-Jan-22 08:23:00

Good morning from North Wales.
It was very quiet in town yesterday which I was glad about. I am not happy in
busy places.
Pant thank you for the sunshine yesterday. It was almost spring-like here.
I am still working on the extra pounds that jumped on me when I wasn't looking over Christmas. I will do an uphill walk today. Ugh!
Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Thu 13-Jan-22 08:24:53

Good morning all from Polmont. I have the usual grey skies above. The temperature is 8° and it is fairly calm out. The lovely tree across the road isn't moving much. Gingster and Chrissielou my thoughts are with you both. Stilllearning what a fright you must have had! Hopefully your sleep pattern improves. Marydoll I hope that heating engineer arrives speedily. It's not the best time of year to be without heat, especially for a poorly person.
Today will be much like yesterday, I fear. A disturbed night coughing means I'm tired today. I will be baking apple muffins and chocolate chip cookies as I'm having dgs1 tomorrow from playgroup. I haven't seen him for over a week and I miss him. He'll burst out from playgroup saying, "Hiya grandma, we'll go to your house for cake?" And cake he shall have. Have a good day all.

Skybubble Thu 13-Jan-22 08:30:55

Good morning from a -2 frosty Bicester, I just wanted to say Mick that I have seen Tina at the theatre before Christmas and it was amazing! You will not be disappointed.

Anniebach Thu 13-Jan-22 08:36:21

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

grandMattie Thu 13-Jan-22 08:47:51

I’m back!
DH has a call from the doctor “this morning” and wanted to have his walk and paper before it happened. We walk round our little town, on its medieval walls - complete with (empty) moat!
Marydoll, I’m sorry about your diagnoses but, as you say, it is better to unburden oneself and to know what i# going on than to suffer in ignorance.Chrissie and Ging all the best fo4 your daughters.
Today, I shall be delving into to complexities of an impenetrable subjunctive in my Spanish class. Then, depending on what th3 doctor says, go to check on Philip’s house. The Probate off is dragging its heels to an almost criminal degree IMHO, most working from home and one wonders if any CBA to help the poor saps who are waiting and waiting for probate!
Have a gentle day. All you lovely peeps, Carpe diem. ????☀️☀️?❤️

Grammaretto Thu 13-Jan-22 09:07:52

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. It isn't raining and is quite mild but sunless.
So sorry about your worries Chrissie, Gingster and Harrigran . Sending wishes and hugs to you all.
Grannysomerset too needs all the support she can get.
And Marydoll who has a tough time.

Love the photos Alygran
I'm off to try to choose kitchen cabinets to restore my kitchen. I wish I could take someone with me. When the old ones came out, 9 chopping boards were discovered down the back where there was a gap!
Stilllearning what a fright! Take it easy. That applies to us all through January.

Grannmarie Thu 13-Jan-22 09:15:35

Good morning, Mick and all, from cloudy North Lanarkshire. I'm meeting my sisters for a gentle park walk at lunchtime, hope it stays dry!
Hoping everyone has the best Thursday possible, thinking of those with worries, illness or sorrow. Sending love and prayers for Gingster, Chrissielou and Harrigran and their dear daughters ?? ?.
I'm glad your consultation gave you some answers, Marydoll. flowers
Enjoy your outings, Mick, it's good to have trips to look forward to.

Auntieflo Thu 13-Jan-22 09:25:45

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. It's very cold and frosty here.
I have a neighbour popping over for coffee later, so had better get a move on and be ready when she calls.
Today is my beautiful GD's 31st birthday. Where did the years go?
Still awaiting a text to say my prescriptions are waiting to be picked up.
I did manage to find two bras, single packaged, yesterday, but one will have to go back. Why oh why do manufacturers package bras in twos, one of which colour you will never wear?

My thoughts go out to ChrissieLou, Ginster and their daughters. Also to Marydoll, on her long journey trying to find solutions and answers.

To all others with problems to bear, I send gentle {{{hugs}}}

Have a good day one and all.

GrannyOwl5 Thu 13-Jan-22 09:26:14

Good morning Mick and everyone from a sunny north Kent coast. It looks beautiful out there.

Thoughts with Chrissie and Gingster and their DDs. Also those struggling with illness, worries or burdens; sending good wishes to you.

Have an empty this morning as DH is playing golf so will spend a few hours doing some painting in acrylic; had my first experience of this at my art class on Monday and really enjoyed using it. The art classes are so enjoyable that I have signed up for the next two sessions running throughout the spring and summer….still can’t draw though ??

Hope you all have as good a day as possible. Take care

Auntieflo Thu 13-Jan-22 09:27:02

Harrigran, I meant to add my thoughts and prayers for your daughter.

Nannagarra Thu 13-Jan-22 09:32:02

Good morning from the Sefton coast.
Yesterday lunchtime DS2 tested +ve so we did not pick up our DGC from school and nursery. Luckily he is fairly problem free and the only one in his household to be affected.
Besides dog walking for the same son who has his leg in plaster, general pottering and tidying up are on my agenda today.
Pleasing news that olddudders had a safe journey. What a talented DGD you have Gingster; I really like her work.
My thoughts and best wishes go to the DDs of Chrissielou, Gingster and harrigran.
Have the best day you can everyone. ???

Marydoll Thu 13-Jan-22 09:32:05

Chrissielou, my heart goes out to your daughter and her family. She has a long road ahead. With you by her side, I'm sure she will get through the very tough times.
Life is so cruel at times, we would rather suffer ourselves than see our children in pain.
Please remember, to look after yourself too. ?

Blossoming Thu 13-Jan-22 09:35:15

Good morning Mick and everybody. At the moment it’s sunny and dry in my corner of Lancashire, currently 6°C. Today we are off to Wensleydale, for some fresh air, scenery and cheese.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

Marydoll Thu 13-Jan-22 09:40:24

Harri, I hope today is not too worrying for your daughter.

BlueSapphire Thu 13-Jan-22 09:42:20

Good morning everyone from a very frosty Northampton. Am showered and dressed early this morning as Sainsbury's are due to deliver within the next hour. Already have the towels in the washing machine as well.

Managed a thorough clean of the study yesterday, did some decluttering and rearranged the shelves. Would like to sort the rats nest of cables, but fear that if I do so much as touch any of them I shall do some damage, and disconnect something important like the router! Perhaps DS or DS-in-law will have a go for me.

Ballet class this afternoon, and have my thermals on as it was so cold last week; shall get the bus down to the village, but then walk home with a friend. Could not think what to have for tea tonight so have ordered a Charlie Bigham fish pie; had one the other week and it was delicious. Which reminds me, must get my extra portions of the chilli I made yesterday into the freezer.

Glad you feel better Marydoll after your visit and chat with the consultant yesterday. And special thoughts to those GNs whose daughters are poorly.

Take care and stay safe everyone.

BlueSapphire Thu 13-Jan-22 09:52:19

Meant to add that my thoughts are up in Stockport this morning as I think of my good college friend whose funeral it is today. A very sad day for her family and friends. I am thinking of the good times we had back in the mid 60s, when we were 18, and full of our hopes and dreams for the future. RIP Sue.

cornergran Thu 13-Jan-22 09:56:21

Morning Mick morning All from an opticians waiting room. Mr C is bankrupting us with his need for new glasses.

Sun is out in our corner of Somerset so we plan a seafront walk after a restorative coffee. Jolly cold so well wrapped up

Thoughts to all with worries or sadness. Life’s hard for many. Hope Thursday is gentle with us all.

henetha Thu 13-Jan-22 09:59:15

Good morning from south Devon near Dartmoor.
A heavy frost overnight, which makes me realise how little frost we have had this winter so far. But the sun is shining .
Son and partner are coming here later and staying overnight which is lovely. I'm going to do some real housework in a minute.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 13-Jan-22 10:04:10

Good Morning all from Sunny Harrogate. The Sainsburies shopping came early this morning, which is fine.
Sorry to hear there are so many ailing, especially the younger generation. My thoughts are with you Chrissielou, Harrigran and Gingster for your daughters.
Yes, it must be a relief to know what's in front of you Marydoll undoubtedly you will fight the good fight - with help from Dollie
This afternoon I have to have an Echo cardiogram. No idea what's involved, but will find out later. Then it's a zoom chat time with my sisters, both retired nurses, it will be like an inquisition!
Thank you for sending some sunshine over here Pantglas much needed - have you got any left for tomorrow?Urms I do like your daily doses of Matt - he hits the nail on the head every time.
Hope you all have the best day possible
