Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in brackley this morning.
Some of my dressing has come off when I had my rugby shirt removed last night , hoping to get it temporary fixed .
I have a hospital appointment as to my ear at the Nuffield in Oxford today as to glueing or plastic surgery?
Take Care,
Mick

grandMattie Mon 17-Jan-22 06:10:28

Good morning from a moonlit EcKent.
Oh dear, Mick, I hope your ear wasn’t too painful and that your hospital appointment goes well. ?
DH has his hormone injection at midday today. It usually makes him a bit scratchy, but since he is rather difficult at the moment, it won’t be much change.
Cold chicken with th3 leftover veggies tonight, then at least another couple of meals.
Hope that people enjoyed their weekend and that this week brings nuggets of joy. Carpe. ??????☀️☀️?

Morning Mick and all who follow from dry dark and quiet north Wales where I’m enjoying the chamberpot ☕️ and pondering on what’s to keep me busy today....?

Hope you get sorted at hospital Mick without too much hanging around - I’m taking Mr PG to two separate appointments in the next 10 days and shan’t be able to go in with him - I’ll have to wander round The Range.....eat your heart out Miss Marydoll ?

Might do some titivating of the fizog - my eyebrows and lashes need tinting and maybe a miracle facial (there’s a misnomer ? they never work)

Kind thoughts to those not having a great time at the moment - may something good come your way soon ?

Ashcombe Mon 17-Jan-22 06:16:09

Good morning, Mick and other early risers from a chilly but dry Torbay.

Good luck with your appointment, Mick; it sounds as if you’re having good after care.

DD1 in Australia says the pain from the pericarditis has been worse today so blood tests are being done with the possibility of admission to hospital. She’s facing this alone as her DH and DS are on holiday in Brisbane, where there was a tsunami warning at the w/e, due to the volcanic eruption on Tonga.

In happier news, DGD barely knows she has Covid but will be at home for a few days with DSiL, who routinely works from home. Also, DH will receive his booster vaccination today in France.

Wishing you all a gentle start to the week. ?????

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 17-Jan-22 06:42:37

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dark, but clear skys Oxfordshire.
Goodness Mick you did some damage didn’t you? I hope it isn’t too painful, although I suspect you are pretty sore, hopefully you will be sorted out very soon.
Just a housework and laundry day today, I must replenish my supplies of bird food, they are rattling through the seed, nuts and suet balls, far too heavy to carry so it will be an online shop.
Have a good day everyone, with hugs for those who aren’t so chipper.

mumofmadboys Mon 17-Jan-22 06:44:02

Hope you get sorted today Mick. Good morning all. We are going with a U3A group on a walk up Blake Fell near Loweswater . It is a fell we have never walked on before so looking forward to it. Hope everyone has a peaceful day.

Nannagarra Mon 17-Jan-22 06:44:52

Good morning from the Sefton coast where, in the darkness, there are plenty of birds singing and I am enjoying a mug of hot milk. I like an early start - the washing machine is already working its magic.
Great news that numbers of cases are reducing. DS2 continues to test positive but tells us he is symptom-free. We have a face-to-face appointment at the bank tomorrow but are hoping to rearrange with a zoom meeting.
Sending warm wishes to Mick and all who follow.
???

Gagagran Mon 17-Jan-22 06:50:03

Good Morning early birds from a chilly (-0.1) south coast. I think we are promised sunshine later though and hopefully it warms up a bit.

Sorry to hear about your DD Ash - must be a constant worry for you. The medics are obviously keeping a close eye on her so all you can do is trust them to look after her. Not easy being so far away.

Mattie your DH might surprise you and be a ray of sunshine today ! (and pigs might fly?) Men can be so grumpy and we ladies seldom are as we were taught be our Mums not to be.wink
Pant I am sure your fizzog is perfect without being amended! Enjoy your pondering day. Maybe join me in making a to do list - then ignore it!

Nothing so far on my agenda for today but I might persuade DH to do some garden tidying and supervise that! grin

Good luck with your ear Mick. Hope the hospital sort it for you We don't want you looking like VanGogh!

Have the best day you can everyone. sunshine

Scentia Mon 17-Jan-22 06:56:11

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark but mild.
Goodness Mick it sounds like you have been through the wars. I hope you get sorted today.
My tree planting went well with lots of volunteers, only now are people coming out of the woodwork on FB asking why I am doing it!! “Please keep up people”?
Off to work shortly for a full day at work for the first time this year. Take care everyone and stay safe today ❤️

Good morning from a dark and chilly Essex by the sea.
We had a very nice Sunday lunch at a new to us pub yesterday.
DH is going with a friend to check over another boat this morning. I have no plans apart from housework.
I hope you all have a marvellous Monday xx

Jaxjacky Mon 17-Jan-22 07:12:31

Good morning all from a dry, but cold S Hants.
Ouch Mick, that sounds painful.
I hope your DD1 recovers soon Ash, what a worry for you at a distance too.
Another one here Oops on housework today. We had a lovely lunch out with friends yesterday, so no leftovers for today, maybe a frittata for dinner.
Have a pleasant day all catching a ?or ??.

Beauregard Mon 17-Jan-22 07:20:57

Good morning all. It's currently 5° in my part of Derbyshire with plenty of sunshine forecast.

Hope it all goes well at the hospital today Mick

This week's project is to chalk paint a Stag dresser to give it a lighter, fresher look. Hopefully I'll have enough paint to finish the job.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

Grandmadinosaur Mon 17-Jan-22 07:21:48

Good morning from dark, chilly East Yorkshire.
Hope your appt goes well today Mick

Had quite a nice relaxing day yesterday. I managed a walk and chided myself for not doing it more often ( as I did in the 1st lockdown) having a very pleasant area and views on the doorstep.

Housework catch up for me today too. Might make soup as well from the veg that need to be used up.

Brook hope you are enjoying your stay in Dawlish. It’s years since I was last there but you’ve whetted my appetite to return. I’d love to take GS with us - he would love it there.

Take care everyone.

BlueSapphire Mon 17-Jan-22 07:26:35

Good morning everyone from Northampton where it is too dark to see what the weather is like. I think it might be frosty again.

Disappointing afternoon at rugby yesterday where despite my lucky socks, we lost 20-24, so it looks like we're out of the European Cup. It was bitterly cold and I was glad I had my thermals on. Poor DS-in-law was torn as we were playing Ulster and he is from Northern Ireland!

Yoga this morning then a bit of tidying up to do and will start my new book this afternoon.

Take care and stay safe folks.

GrandmaSeaDragon Mon 17-Jan-22 07:42:15

Good morning to you all from Rutland where it’s +3. Looks like a beautiful sunrise, peachy pink at the moment and no fog. The moon was still so bright when I drew the curtains, like a spotlight across the garden. It will be Full at 11.48 tonight apparently. I ventured into the garden yesterday, so many soggy leaves, lots of bulbs showing but no snowdrops yet, can’t be long though!

I’ve been following this thread for a few weeks, only joined yesterday though. Oh dear Mick what a horrible experience for you, hope the hospital visit goes ok later and your ear heals quickly.

Don’t think I’ll ever be quick enough to respond on here -already refreshed page and lost my original message - but I wish everyone the best day possible, especially those not well or with illness in their families. The horizon is now golden, time to get up and face the day!

baubles Mon 17-Jan-22 07:42:27

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s 4* according to Alexa.

Hope your appointment goes well Mick, sounds like a sore one.

Yesterday’s weather was glorious, daft dug had a whale of a time running in the fields, it actually felt quite warm in the sunshine.

Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to work I go. Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ???

Alizarin Mon 17-Jan-22 07:45:32

Good morning from south Cornwall where it's cold with another St Ives day of sunshine forecast. I'll take a bus to Trebah Gardens and breathe the beautiful air there and see how well my crutches do on the paths. I've got a long wait for a knee replacement but at least it doesn't stop me painting, beachcombing and trundling around, albeit slower than my head tells me I can go. Have the best day you can.

Gingster Mon 17-Jan-22 07:47:01

Good morning all and it’s so cold again here in Essex.

Yesterday I had a lovely walk with little pooch, up to Rayleigh Mount. I hadn’t told dh I was going, just decided as we headed out. Not a soul there apart from me, pooch and a few ducks on the pond.
Daffodils up and snowdrops out. Spring is springing! ??

I hope we get the car back today. It only went in to have the heater adjusted.

Enjoy your day, everyone, as much as you can. ?

brook2704 Mon 17-Jan-22 07:50:33

Good morning everyone from Devon where it’s dry but a little bit chilly
Oh mick your ear sounds quite bad, I hope all goes well at your hospital appointment later
Today we’re off for more walking along the coast and cliff tops, yesterday we enjoyed a lovely walk although it was quite muddy and slippery but we managed to stay upright We saw quite a few people on the beach and in the sea at Exmouth - I really admire those people who swim in the sea all year round. I really like Dawlish grandmadinosaur obviously in January it’s not at its best but I like the red sandstone cliffs and the sea. I hope you get to return with your DGS. someday
Hoping your DD is feeling better soon Ash it must be a real worry ?
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today, just a little thing and take care all whatever the day brings ?

monk08 Mon 17-Jan-22 07:52:36

Good morning Mick and all who follow from the Black country, haven't opened curtains yet so don't know what the weather is doing.
Taking a friend to hospital today for bloods he gave up driving last year an gets very down having lost his independence, so will take him for a drive out somewhere afterwards.
Take care all and enjoy your Monday may you all find some ?.

Marydoll Mon 17-Jan-22 07:53:33

Good morning all from Glasgow, its 7°, with a forecast of some sunshine. Goods news for Soop and her long journey down to Glasgow.

Good luck for your appointment, Mick. You must have given your ear quite a knock, if it may require plastic surgery.
Well Pants, that's not fair! A solo trip to the Range, with time to footer sans DH, oh great joy! They had lots of new stock in on Friday. I hope your husband's visit is a positive experience.

I have absolutely nothing to report. DD and SIL returned yesterday to continue their mission, deep within the garage, after a detour to B&M, where they purchased storage items for me, as a gift. Now I can't find anything! #ungrateful wretch. ? Most of the day was spent lying down, watching Turkish dramas. Unfortunately, DD was quite shocked to see unwell I was. I'm usually pretty good at covering up. Now she is worried! ☹

There are no plans for today either, apart from chasing up my prescriptions and remembering to give myself my weekly injection. I had a routine, when MrMD was golfing, so it's his fault again, that I keep forgetting.

Hoping that all the Covid warriors are on the mend. Susan, what a worry for you, when your daughter is so far away. The last few years have been so difficult for you with family health scares..
Granny Somseset, please pop in and let us know how you are faring.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
I hope things improve quickly for your daughter.

Urmstongran Mon 17-Jan-22 07:55:05

No Matt today because it’s Monday. It took me a while to realise this.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where we have white cloud. Sunshine is forecast later in the day and looking out, the Mediterranean is a sparkling blue so that’s a good sign.

We plan a stroll over to Palm Tree Avenue (Av.. las Palmeras) for lunch at my favourite bar there called Acholinos. It’s a great little place, well worth the 45 minute walk to get there. I always choose the tuna and avocado salad. Himself laughs that I do this. ‘Why not choose something else?’ ‘Because I like it and we don’t come often enough that I’m bored of it’.
?

Help please. The photo of this gorgeous patio area isn’t mine. A couple of years back, someone on here posted it of her garden. I loved it so much I saved the picture thinking ‘ooh it’s lovely, I could just sit there’.

So, who’s garden is it??

kittylester Mon 17-Jan-22 07:55:10

Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire.

Today I am having my first singing lesson so be warned!!! I was told at a very young age that I was tone deaf (thanks Mum!) and have always mimed when singing anywhere but my own kitchen!! DH bought me lessons for Christmas and I am interested to see what the teacher says.

monk08 Mon 17-Jan-22 07:56:33

Welcome to this lovely friendly thread GrandmaSeaDragon?

Marydoll Mon 17-Jan-22 07:58:03

Gosh, I've got so muddled. I blame the RA brain fog, its really severe just now,
Susan apologies, Ashcombe, its your daughter who is so ill, I'm so sorry for the mistaken identity. However, Susan's daughter is also suffering from pericarditis, so I hope she is improving.
I'm just going to retreat and lay low for now. ?
