Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in brackley this morning.
Some of my dressing has come off when I had my rugby shirt removed last night , hoping to get it temporary fixed .
I have a hospital appointment as to my ear at the Nuffield in Oxford today as to glueing or plastic surgery?
Take Care,
Mick

Kalu, thank goodness, you managed to speak with your daughter, you must be relieved.
I'm glad to hear you are feeling a wee bit better.

The sun has come out, so a very pleasant journey ahead for Soop.

Good morning Mick and fellow Morningsters. ??? A warm welcome GrandmaSeaDragon. It’s rare that I’m an early Morningsters!
Chilly but blue skies in mid Cornwall.

My last day of scrubbing away at the black mould. Dehumidifiers have been busy but one is getting too noisy. MrM will have it apart later ?

Sent my usual weekend text to DS yesterday. No communication for two weeks. DD2 will be back at school. I wonder how’s she’s dealing with those problems there. Her birthday in two weeks. Thinking of what I can send to keep her spirits up.

Hope you’re coping with that ear Mick. Many hugs ??????? to those with worries especially if you’re coping alone with them.

A quick good morning from a chilly S Lanarkshire, there was a blue sky earlier but back to grey now. I got a shock when I read of your injuries Mick, you certainly had a bad fall, I hope your hospital appointment goes well.

I hope too that you get better news from your so far away daughter Ashe, a big worry for you.

Book club at lunchtime and then on to pick up DGC from school and make their dinner, I’m looking forward to that.
Our book was a memoir of a hard Glasgow childhood. It was good but perhaps not the ideal read in this January!

Welcome to GrandmaSeaDragon and good wishes to all, especially those with family health worries ???

Beautiful sunny morning in Oxfordshire. DD begins treatment today, long road ahead but at least she has taken 1st step. Busy work day for me, too much to juggle! Have a happy Monday.

Well it seems that beautiful patio area (? Galen’s) was envied by a few of us. Honestly I could settle down there, in the shade, with a book and a glass of wine. For hours. It would be my favourite nook.

Talking of books, I too read ‘The Nightingale’ years ago Gwenisgreat it’s thrilling and tense in equal measure isn’t it? I recommended it to my daughter and she couldn’t put it down. Funnily enough, I’ve just started another Kristen Hannah book ‘Wild’. It’s equally as good. This one is set on the west coast of America, north of Los Angeles. I think shes a great author.

Good Morning from a cold, bright Cambs.,
I'm usually too late to join you........, but do like to "see" & "hear" your doings!
Urmstongran, that lovely garden does look inviting, those chairs are waiting for friends to meet.!

Warm wishes to you all, especially those with added worries & woes.

Not really morning now but have spent most of the morning on the phone (or holding on waiting for a real human to speak to) plus a friend calling in which ways lovely.

Current drama is that my lap top has died and the printer is in a terminal sulk - just when I need them! Fortunately local fixer responded to my anguished call and has taken them away to see if he can sort them out or transfer everything to DH’s little used laptop. Fingers crossed.

Thank you Marydoll. Thank goodness for modern technology as DD and I FaceTimed and just to reassure me, took me for a look outside in her garden and views along her street! Just what I needed to let me know they were OK and I had no need to worry. Phew.

DD1 in Australia says the pain from the pericarditis has been worse today so blood tests are being done with the possibility of admission to hospital.
How did she get "Pericarditis?" Praying for her??

I hope the fixer can help you GrannySomerset, why is it technology fails us when we need it most. As you say, fingers crossed - and toes.
I had patio envy when Galen posted that photo in soop's Kitchen a while ago now. Wishing soop all the best for her procedure.

Today a little ray of sunshine at last. I had to move to ground floor flat, from my home of 20 years and more importantly my beloved garden on 3 levels that I loved and in particular used to grow snowdrops (am a galanthophile so different ones beginnning in october going through to april) and hellebores and winter flowering jasmine , etc., which was so cheering at this dark and miserable time of year. Not helped by the fact that I live in North Yorkshire and we had the fire on the BIlsdale mast and are still getting really annoying poor tv with different channels disappearing at different times. Listen to radio 3 and 4 quite a lot but of course I enjoy things like Gardeners world and farming shows and other things and it seems to be sods law that if something is gong wrong it is gardeners world and the only way I can see it is to get it onto the lap top, so feel I have gone back to my childhood with very small screen! Had to move during covid restrictions with all that entailed, no help, family could not come and my back is always painful but sometimes worse than others. I used to go swimming twice a week, as the pool near my previous home had a chair to put me in and out of the water and I would do what I could. With the move and the rest of it ,have spent 7 months with no swimming, and muddling along the best I could on my own, and it was the one bit of exercise I could do to try and keep mobile. So ta da!! Today I managed it. It was freezing cold and very frosty and took me about 20 minutes to clear windscreens and carefully check the car over , but as I was in a lot of pain ( gave up and got up about 6am,)going slowly and sitting down in between jobs , I was able to go to a new (to me) swimming pool and was able to at last get in the water. Wonderful! I am rather full of aches and pains now but dont care. It will improve . Torn between being a careful Yorkshire woman and not wanting to waste money if I couldnt go for a while for any reason, and deciding whether to just go one swim at a time or get an annual ticket, which means I can go to as many sessions as I want each week, and saving quite a lot of money too, I even went mad and decided to be positive and bought the annual ticket. That will encourage me to make the effort if it is pouring with rain or a howling gale. Must get my moneys worth! So I have found a new place to go, if I cant manage to walk anywhere can do more swimming to keep me a bit more mobile and have even found a very nice cafe a little further along the road where I can have a decent cup of coffee. It was very cold all day but there was a beautiful sunset and the frost looked lovely on the trees and hedges with cobwebs gleaming. Wow I feel I am starting to get going again and hurray we have a few more minutes of daylight each day. I have read many of your posts and been interested in the different things you all do , and hope it is ok to join in.
