‘Evening All’

Back home & about to eat. Swimming lessons went well. Our Boy Wonder wears pyjamas over his trunks for swimming now and L’il Miss has been moved up a group. I can tell even now she’s going to be a strong swimmer like her mummy.

Urmston early doors (6pm) was buzzing. Things definitely are getting back to normal. There were 16 people in our favourite little bar tonight (our wind down after the ‘bear garden’ of the showers ~ reaching in to shampoo Li’l Miss’ shoulder length hair in a shower cubicle without getting wet myself is an art form!)

What a wonderful gesture from your lovely hairdresser Soop, making life a little easier for Mr Soop whilst you`re in Ross Hall.

Dogsmakemesmile Fri 04-Feb-22 09:25:40

Good morning everyone. Snow flurries here. Listening to Desert Island Discs. Ddog on the sofa waiting for his dogwalker. Completed and submitted an application form for a job yesterday. Will job search further today.
On line shop to do. Will write list prior to starting. Tomorrow we are "going somewhere". I have worked so many weekends and Dh has been on call we have not had a drive for weeks. Not a complaint. I love my job and we live in a lovely small town but good to see different buildings etc. Take care everyone.

Yiayia4 Fri 04-Feb-22 11:35:42

What kind people you have around you Soopjust shows what a lovely lady you are.
We saw Belfast yesterday, really enjoyed it.Jude Hill stole my heart a great little actor will go far.
I’m collecting youngest GS from school today. His latest hero is Iron Man I expect I will learn all about him on the way home.?

soop Fri 04-Feb-22 15:25:06

Aldom Swoon! How delicious looking. Could I maybe sneak a wee taster and not ingest any calories. wink

The sun is shining brightly. It is very much chillier. Sweetie Pie has banqueted on two plus hearty meals. Now cosy-warm in her fleece bed in the apartment. Birds pecking around just outside her entrance.

Mr Soop went into Campbeltown to delivery a letter of thanks in person to our wonderfully kind hairdresser. She explained that she hadn't had a holiday for two years but, being in a position to help to relieve John of unwanted additional stress was, in her mind, far more beneficial. Wearing face masks, they hugged. grin

GrannyGravy13 Fri 04-Feb-22 15:28:59

Dearest soop what a kind hairdresser you have, it really does restore one’s faith in human nature ????

soop Fri 04-Feb-22 15:36:15

Yia I saw a clip of the young actor, Jude Hill. I was won over by his natural charm.

Hellogirl We never fail to drive through Muasdale without greeting dear David.

We've had a phone call from our pals in the village. We are invited to "take afternoon tea" and have a much-missed blether. I shall therefore make a real effort to look well-turned out within the next hour. hmm

corner remains to the forefront of my mind. She is having to deal with a tremendous amount of emotional pressure right now. flowers

I also understand that our N&G will be taking a wee break during a period of stressful ill health. flowers

Just popping into the warm kitchen to say hello to everyone. It’s been snowing here in Inverness and everything is white and wintry looking
I’ve been to the gym and had a good splash around in the warm pool and then a soak in the jacuzzi so I’m quite happy
I hope you enjoy your afternoon tea soop and a good blether with your kind pals
Thinking of N&G and corner
It’s Friday so the wine will be open soon, have a lovely evening everyone TOYA

Grandmabatty Fri 04-Feb-22 17:55:29

Goodness Brook, I hope it isn't heading south but I fear it is. It looks so lovely though. Soop what a gem your hairdresser is! Thank you for letting us know about Cornergran and N&G. My thoughts are with them.
Aldi visit first thing this morning which was just as well as dgs1 ate constantly! I picked him up from playgroup and he was so excited as he knew he would get a cake. And that started the eating. He was still eating when his dad picked him up at half four. Between that and blethering, I'm exhausted. And having to run in straight lines along the hall, and in circles in the living room. My Fitbit has had a workout ?. Anyway I've thoroughly enjoyed myself. He told me stories all afternoon with his wee serious face. Tonight I'm making spaghetti carbonara for dinner. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.

‘Evening All’

Golly it’s cold out hereabouts! Brr.
We are heading out soon to pick up the Boy Wonder to take him to his club cricket presentation night. I’m cosy and to be honest I wish we weren’t going. But he’s excited.
What is a grandma eh?

What a wonderfully generous amount of money donated by your hairdresser soop and what a great use for it. ?

Jaxjacky Fri 04-Feb-22 20:12:38

I’m sorry to hear about N&G hoping that the situation improves.
Similarly corner, worrying times, thoughts are with you both.
As Urms said yesterday, our local earlier seems back to normal, we still sit at a table near the door, cold draught as people come in and out, it is chilly, the walk was bracing.
Cottage pie in the oven with a spot of haggis left from Burn’s night included, just the job. Love the snow pictures brook, I do like it, unlikely we’ll get any this year, but I still hope ?.
Enjoy your Friday evening all, big hugs to those troubled xx

soop Fri 04-Feb-22 20:43:45

We arrived at our pals home for afternoon tea and a wee blether. Returned home after seven. It was fun. Some people have the gift of raising many chuckles. A quick snack, and now we prepare for the Saturday night film as the wind howls outside our cosy home.

My love to you very special lot and, if all goes well, I hope to join you again tomorrow. smile moon

soop Fri 04-Feb-22 20:46:49

Thank you for the winter wonderland photograph, brook.

I raise my hat to all our super-special Grans. flowers

mrshat Fri 04-Feb-22 21:25:58

What a wonderful gesture from your hairdresser soop. You are treasured by all who know you, and rightly so! Mr soop will be so relieved he can stay near while you are in Ross Hall. Less anxiety all round. Keep safe xx

mrshat Fri 04-Feb-22 21:27:48

Forgot to say thank you for news of cornergran and N&G. Fingers crossed they are soon feeling well enough and able to come back to the kitchen.

Blossoming Fri 04-Feb-22 21:35:25

Good evening all, just checking in! Sounds like a good day all round soop. Sending best wishes to n&g and corner, I really do wish I had a magic wand for all our grans. It’s turned very cold here, but not as cold as Inverness! Lovely photo brook but I’m glad I don’t have to cope with it! I have been working really hard on my mobility and fitness, the daily walks are really helping. After much reading I have sorted out what my eating plan will be for the next month, starting from Monday. We went out shopping today for the necessary supplies. All this getting well is very tiring, so I’ll say goodnight for now, TOYA.

Dogsmakemesmile Sat 05-Feb-22 09:05:39

Morning everyone. Best wishes to N&G and corner. Blossoming your new regime is very inspiring.
Raining but we have waterproof coats etc so heading out. Taking stuff to a charity shop and will do my best to walk out with nothing.
TOYA

Doodle Sat 05-Feb-22 11:32:52

Just catching up with the news. What a wonderful gesture from your hairdressers soop. So pleased Mr Soop will be able to be close to you. It will mean less worry for you both knowing the other is near. Such good news.
Sending my best wishes to corner and N&G too. Hope things improve for all soon.
Sunny here today but cold. A walk later then more photo sorting. Have a good weekend all

brook2704 Sat 05-Feb-22 17:20:56

Still a cold, wet and windy day here in Inverness but we did brave the weather and go for a short walk down by the river. It certainly blew the cobwebs away but we were rewarded by a lovely coffee and cake in a nearby cafe
That’s us in for the day now, salmon, veg and baked potato in the oven and the wine is ready so we’re sorted.
Hope you’re doing well with your photo sorting Doodle I could do with doing the same sometime
A very well done Blossoming with your healthy eating, walking and fitness regime, it sounds like it’s definitely making a difference so well worth it

soop Sat 05-Feb-22 17:46:53

Good late-afternoon greetings from a very chilly, wet, grey Kintyre.

Today I've been making sure that upcoming birthday cards are ready to be posted when I'm enjoying my stay in Ross Hall. wink

I shall be nil by mouth at this time next week. I shall have also been thoroughly "cleaned out" (the stuff that I shall need to drink is pure torture.) Needs must.

At the moment, I'm watching Scotland v England rugby match. Scotland marginally ahead. Still some way to go before I can raise a glass of cheer.

My very best wishes to you all. I shall return tomorrow and send comforting thoughts to corner N&G and all other Kitcheners who are going through difficult, stressful times.

smile moon

Yiayia4 Sat 05-Feb-22 18:09:06

Hello Kitcheners.Thinking of Corner and N&G??
Feeling cold and achy today never mind Chinese take-away and a chilled white will help plus last episode of the Teacher.
Have a nice evening all.

cornergran Sat 05-Feb-22 18:33:53

Evening everyone. A decent if routine sort of day here. Almost caught up with the admin. Planted some Spring pots for the front garden in between rain showers, they look cheerful with happy colours. Would have pottered some more but goodness the wind was cold. Retreating inside seemed the best option.

Thank you for caring soop and everyone. There’s family stress from all angles, same with our goddaughter but please don’t fret about me, I’m a resilient soul and equilibrium is returning. There are people with much more to contend with.

Some time with a friend in a cosy, warm cafe to look forward to on Tuesday. The world will be put to rights smile.

Look after yourselves everyone, especially soop, not long to wait now.

TOYA.

Jaxjacky Sat 05-Feb-22 19:17:26

You put me to shame Blossoming so I must get myself organised.
Scotland did it soop well done to them, Mr J is pleased with the Ireland result, we’re sported out today with it all.
A brisk walk earlier in a cold wind and I can spot bulbs emerging in the garden, I’ve never grown them before, veg were always the priority, anticipation!
You sound reasonably at ease corner resilient indeed, onwards x
Thoughts with N&G and anyone else struggling ?
I’m off to plonk stuff in the oven and settle in, wind with rain due. X

kittylester Sat 05-Feb-22 19:17:36

I really do wish you lot would stand still!! I'm exhausted just reading about all your doings!!

soop, I bet you are thinking of next week with a huge mixture of emotions. I hope MacS/MrSoop will keep us updated regularly!

I'm sorry to hear about n&g. If anyone is in touch please pass on my love.

Cake in a cafe sounds just the job corner. I hope all calms down.

We are off to Suffolk tomorrow, to the seaside. I hope to keep in better touch while we are away.
