Been discussed before, I know, but in the DT today, it seems that support for this to be the Duchess of Cornwall’s title in the fullness of time is ever more likely.

I, for one, would be pleased to see this happen. Princess Consort would be a silly title for the wife of the King.

I have never thought Charles will allow his beloved wife to hold an inferior title.

I don’t rely on the media , some even believe ‘The Crown’

But you must need to rely on the media, unless you are a close friend of the RF members we are talking about?

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 10-Feb-22 17:29:34

What my friend told me was what he himself had seen of Diana’s behaviour. He was a professional man of some standing and integrity well able to form an unbiased view.

Aveline Thu 10-Feb-22 17:33:43

The 'Squidgygate' tapes? The engraved bracelet? Just some examples of actual existing facts.

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 17:36:11

Tina only three new the truth, sadly now only two know the truth .

One thing I definitely believe is not true, Charles and Camilla wanted to marry when they were young but were not allowed to.

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 17:38:14

Did you see the bracelet Avaline ? Who told the world about the bracelet and the cuff links ?

Tina49 Thu 10-Feb-22 17:39:14

One thing I definitely believe is not true, Charles and Camilla wanted to marry when they were young but were not allowed to

But you don’t know - you just (as we all do) have a bias towards one possible truth.

Tina49 Thu 10-Feb-22 17:39:51

Enough, enough!!

we don't know 'your friend' so only have your word for that..... so not worth quoting here. in my opinion

Mollygo Thu 10-Feb-22 17:41:52

Tina49 exactly. You have to rely on the media and our opinions on what the media posts often depends on our personal bias on the subject.
Interestingly, in Internet Safety I’ve just been working with children looking at how much of what they read on the internet is guaranteed to be true, and is it possible to know? They are already quite cynical about the veracity of what they find on Google etc.

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 17:44:05

lemsip the media is quoted here most of the time

What do you rely on?

Wrong Lucca but keep stirring

Don’t be silly, how am I stirring ?

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 17:51:35

I think things through, I remember the two interviews given by the couple involved, I listened to the tapes and I read Diana’s book.

Lucca Thu 10-Feb-22 17:52:59

Aveline that is not true, but the constant attacks on Camilla
which are based on lies is so wrong. I gave up trying to have a
discussion on the three involved , no one wants to, they just want to make Diana the victim whilst Charles and Camilla are
devils incarnate.

Completely distorting the truth. There is a lot of support for Charles and Camilla on these threads, which is fine. But aveline is right you always attack Diana, it’s almost personal.

I also don’t know why you say everyone relies on the media except you ??? Are we to assume you have inside knowledge?

Petera Thu 10-Feb-22 17:54:46

We all think things through. Interviews, tapes and a book are media.

Charles and Camilla are, in Camillas case allegedly grandchildren of Edward V11th! Charles obviously is, but Sonia, Camillas great grandmother is said to have been almost certainly the Kings daughter. That if true could explain why marriage between Charles and Camilla was out of the question when they were young?

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 17:55:46

No I don’t have inside knowledge, I did at the time of Camilla’s
marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles

Lucca Thu 10-Feb-22 17:57:21

Thank you for your implication that I am lying.

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 18:00:14

I was shown the wedding photographs over a cup of coffee with
a member of the family. Not the royal family

Lucca Thu 10-Feb-22 18:07:18

Very nice but why does that lead to your wholesale condemnation of Diana ?!

I’ll repeat I do not think Diana was a saint a heroine or anything other than a young woman who married the wrong man. Charles equally not a hero or a saint and married the wrong girl. So neither is deserving of either veneration or character assassination.
Royal family or not they are just people.

Parsley3 Thu 10-Feb-22 18:21:46

I have inside knowledge, an eye witness no less, that after the wedding Charles went off fishing leaving Diana alone on their big day. Still, the RF were provided with the heir and the spare which was the object of the exercise. I don’t begrudge Charles a bit of happiness in his old age. In fact, I pity the lot of them because who would want to live a life where every move is scrutinised and criticised. My wish is that when it is George’s turn he will say stuff that for a game of soldiers, I’m off.

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 18:24:18

I agree Lucca I am wrong to keep criticising Diana but I got
fed up with the nasty comments about Charles and Camilla , I
haven’t said any lies though

Anniebach Thu 10-Feb-22 18:28:24

Went fishing on their wedding day ? Between the wedding banquet and the evening ball ?

Parsley3 Thu 10-Feb-22 18:32:54

Hadn’t you heard that little snippet anniebach?
