Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but dry here in brackley this morning.
Today, I will have a early lunch , as I attuned my surgery to get my stitches removed by one of the practice nurses around mid day .
Return and watch TV.
Take Care,
Mick

BlueBalou Thu 27-Jan-22 06:05:28

Good morning! Dark and dry here too.
I need tblitz the house today, it’s in a muddle. I’m hoping someone is coming tomorrow to collect my big oak dresser, I put it on Facebook Marketplace after three auction houses turned it down and I have had 3 people interested!
DH is walking DDog this morning, I’m hoping she’ll be worn out afterwards and will sleep for a few hours!
Take care x

Good morning from a cloudy E Kent.
Good luck for stitch removal, Mick.
Had a lovely time at my craft group yesterday, although yet again we did something I don’t really like/want. We dyed bits of lace in tea and coffee then appliquéd them onto some cream fabric and embellished with beads and gold thread. Not to my taste, but it was so pleasant to mix with likeminded ladies and chat…
The boiler clock will be fixed today or tomorrow , which is great.
DGS has invited himself for the night on Saturday - obviously his waiting at weddings job has dried up at the moment. So pleased to see him.
Spanish class this morning. No more verbs at the moment - yippee! (BTW Urms, welcome home to your piso).
Have a good day all. Carpe diem. ????☀️?☀️☀️

Gagagran Thu 27-Jan-22 06:41:08

Good Morning from a much milder (7c) south coast. Think we are promised a pleasant day. I yearn for some sunshine.

Welcome home Urms and hope the journey went well. There will be two excited children waiting to see you I bet!

DH is going to collect his now fixed e-bike and testing it with a short ride out with his friend who lives near the e-bike shop. I, therefore, have an empty morning, which I have no plans to fill as yet.

Hope your ear has healed well Mick and hasn't marred your good looks! wink

Hope your purchasers of the oak dresser bring some muscle with them BlueBalou - I think you said it weighs a ton.

Have the best day you can everyone - spring really is nearer every day. sunshine

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is still dark but forecast to be a bit warmer today.
DH has a diabetic check up at the surgery at 8.15 then we are going food shopping.
He has been invited to a dinner with his old company in Bedford so will be away overnight.
I am going out with my new walking group this afternoon.
Have a great Wednesday everyone xx

Good morning Mick, morning all from dreary and wet South Lanarkshire.

Good luck today Mick.

Fairly productive day yesterday. I’m pleased with my haircut, it’s a good two inches shorter and hopefully easier to manage now. I also did a bit of batch cooking and made a big pot of lentil soup.

Childminding day for us, I hope it’s dry for our walk later.

Wishing everyone a good day. ??

GrandmaSeaDragon Thu 27-Jan-22 07:08:43

Good morning from a dark Hertfordshire. Am surrounded by Ninja Lego as sleeping in DGD1 bedroom, Surprised there is any left in the shops, there’s so much here!

They all depart for school by 7.20 so I shall stay in this very comfy bed till they depart and then face the day, starting with a walk round the block with puppy!

Hope the stitch removal goes well mick and wishing you all a good day.

kittylester Thu 27-Jan-22 07:10:06

Good morning all from North Leicestershire. It seems slightly warmer today.

We are off to DD3's house near Hemel Hempstead today to check whether the extension meets with our approval. grin It has taken ages with covid interruptions and hold up of supplies. We are going out for lunch and then picking up the girls from school before we come home.

GrandmaSeaDragon Thu 27-Jan-22 07:10:29

No! It’s DGS1 bedroom!

Ashcombe Thu 27-Jan-22 07:10:46

Good morning, all, from a still but milder Torbay. A dizzy 12 degrees at one point yesterday!

It’s good to read of everyone's plans or none in the case of Gagagran. I always find such days are welcome! Good luck to Mick and I hope your ear has healed.

Thank you for the kind comments yesterday morning over my surgery phone call frustrations. At lunchtime, I finally received a call from the practice pharmacist who was most supportive. She prescribed a GTN spray which was ready for me to collect from my local pharmacy by 3.00 pm! Also, she will contact the Heart Failure team for further advice. By the end of the day, I’d received an electronic copy of a letter from the cardiologist, for which I’ve been asking for months! I’d had a telephone consultation with him last March!

More heartening news came late last night from DD1 in Australia who is starting to feel better. She is likely to become the subject of research into this relatively rare phenomenon of contracting pericarditis following a booster vaccination. A relief to hear her sounding more cheerful and I thank you all for your kindness over her illness. I understand from the experience of Susan56's DD that it’s a long haul to full recovery.

Today, I must go to Lidl to take advantage of the £10 off deal. With DH in town over Christmas we spent more, partly on “toys”, so our total entitles me to the reduction! Whoopee!

Have a good day, everyone, especially those with worries.. ?????

Jaxjacky Thu 27-Jan-22 07:10:48

Good morning, 7 here too Gagagran. I hope you ear is better Mick.
A busy day on the voluntary phone yesterday.
Today I’m off to the library, vape shop and a walk, might bung the vacuum round. My duster seems to have disappeared, it’s only a small house and it lives with the cleaning stuff, most odd.
I hope there’s been improvement for the poorly DD’s, DIL’s, those with Covid and anyone under the weather.
Better news for you too Chrissielou.?.
Enjoy your Thursday all ??

Scentia Thu 27-Jan-22 07:12:38

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark but fairly mild.
I have spent the last 24 hours feeling ill, DGS very kindly shared his tummy bug with me on Tuesday so I am up and about for the first time in a day, still feel a bit icky but if I don’t eat I should be fine! I will try to eat this evening if I can face it.
Sorry to lower the mood, on a plus side I am seeing the GC this afternoon as DH will collect them from nursery and bring them to me, that will cheer me up.
Take care everyone and stay safe today ❤️

cornergran Thu 27-Jan-22 07:25:42

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks damp and windy.

A miracle yesterday, a parking spot right outside the hospital doors. Decent enough outcome, an MRI to follow (eventually!) before a decision about any treatment. It seems my presentation is unusual. The family weren’t surprised grin.

A catching up sort of day ahead. The car will be collected for a service, a grocery delivery, general chores to accomplish, some more weeding out.

Hope all goes well mick, you’ll be pleased to finally have the stitches removed. Sounds a good day ahead kitty. A day with a puppy sounds fun grandmaseadragon. Hope those buyers are strong bluebalou. pleased you enjoyed the company yesterday grandmattie

Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

glammagran Thu 27-Jan-22 07:31:28

Good morning to all. A much calmer week for us. Last week 9 month old got RSV and bronchiolitis badly and when he woke up from his nap he was struggling to breathe so paediatric paramedics were called out. He had a lump of phlegm stuck in his airway which was cleared and he improved afterwards. He wasn’t admitted to hospital but got antibiotics but terrifying for the parents. This week he’s back to his normal self. Then both parents and 3 year old sister got it as did I but nobody was too bad. I spent my weekend in bed with a temperature but did 3 covid tests on 3 consecutive days just to be sure it wasn’t that. Luckily the cough I had didn’t get any worse and has totally gone now. Not left the house for a week.

Off to the large Waitrose a half hours drive from here. We go once a month to have a break from Ocado.

A belated congratulations to Lins on the birth of her new GD. There is nothing nicer than welcoming a new baby into a family.

I hope all the Gransnetters with poorly daughters have better news very soon.

Have a good day everyone.

brook2704 Thu 27-Jan-22 07:44:12

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still blowing a gale and more rain in the forecast
Hoping your stitch removal goes smoothly today mick and your ear has healed well
Today I’ve an easy aerobics class at the gym and nothing planned after that. I might suggest to DH that we have a trip to B&Q as we need to choose a new sink and tap for the utility room makeover that’s coming soon
Good that you got your call eventually yesterday Ash it sounds like you’ve made progress. Great news about your DD feeling a bit better too
What a worry glammagran but pleased all seems better now
Hope you’re feeling much better soon Scentia
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grandmadinosaur Thu 27-Jan-22 07:44:56

Good morning from East Yorkshire. It’s dry and looks a little brighter as I peep outside.

Had a productive day yesterday on my trip in to the city centre. I ordered the other size in the dress I wanted in Next and returned trousers to another shop. Was intending to get a refund but I exchanged for 2 tops. Also topped up on toiletries. A free coffee in my cafe Nero app was welcome too!

Today we are picking up our click and collect order. Gs is coming after school. He’s been wanting to bake so we will make scones. Was going to do this when he was here the other day but I seem to have 3 bags of the wrong flour - plain. As I don’t bake a lot now I may take a couple to the food bank today.
Good luck with stitch removal Mick and thinking of ones with ills, worries etc.

Take care.

Beauregard Thu 27-Jan-22 07:48:21

Good morning from Derbyshire where we've had some rain.

I'm off to the supermarket soon. I'll be near to Dunelm, so might call in afterwards to see if they've got anything that would look nice on my dresser.

Not much else on the agenda today, DH has a haircut late morning and I'll probably do a little housework. A walk out late afternoon and leftovers for dinner.

Have a good Thursday everyone.

Gingster Thu 27-Jan-22 07:49:39

Good morning all, and it feels a bit warmer here in Essex. No frost - yay!
Bowls and art clubs today.
Sar - my Dh also has a diabetic appointment this morning. He’s borderline and hasn’t done a single thing about his intake of sweets, biscuits, cakes etc. ?. These last few days he’s cut back. (Because of 8mpending appointment) . There’s no reasoning with him. Oh well it’s up to him! You can’t help some people.

Sar - enjoy your walk. ?

Ash - glad your DD is feeling a bit better ?, and I’m glad you got your phone consultation.

glammagran - your poor little gs. Sounds frightening! They soon bounce back, don’t they. ?.

Off now for the school run. Take care everyone! ?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 27-Jan-22 07:51:14

Morning Mick and all

Hope your ear is ok and having the stitches removed goes ok Mick

Might drive into Chelmsford later today just for a mooch.

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Grandmajean Thu 27-Jan-22 07:53:34

Morning !
Mild here in Cheshire. Hope it stays that way for a bit.
Waitrose trip for a few treats for GC who will be here for tea tomorrow then soup to make for tonight. Don't know how I used to fit in a full time job but I suppose being younger helped !
Good wishes to all with a difficult day ahead.

BlueSapphire Thu 27-Jan-22 07:55:04

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton, no frost today.

A quiet day at home planned, apart from a Sainsbury's delivery late morning, as I had a night out yesterday, and need to recover...

Went to book club yesterday afternoon, partook of tea and cake, talked very little about the book, but put the world to rights....

Then yesterday evening was a meal out with my wine club, the first time we have met up for two years, and of course an unaccustomed amount of wine was drunk, so feeling just a tad fragile this morning! DD stayed over and is still in the land of nod at the moment; she is planning a run through our local forest before she heads off home later.

Will take it easy today, start my new book club read, and raid the freezer for dinner tonight.

Take care everyone.

Grammaretto Thu 27-Jan-22 07:55:05

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is once more a cloudy 6°C but promises to become sunny and warmer.
I am going to visit someone by bus today. She lives on the East Lothian coast.
It will be nice to escape from the house with all its problems.
I hope you get those stitches removed with no worries Mick
Much better news from Australia for you Ash
A relief for you glammagran. Enjoy your trip out.
Take care everyone.

grandMattie Thu 27-Jan-22 08:02:54

Ash, so pleased for your DD. Long convalescence but at least she is feeling a bit better!
How terrifying for the family, glammagran. A consolation - one DS had bronchiolitis every three to four weeks from 3 weeks until he was nearly 2. He grew up to be a strapping. 6’2” !

Susan56 Thu 27-Jan-22 08:04:32

Good morning from Shropshire.

A Henry day today and school pick up.We have toddler group this morning?I was hoping DH would take H and I could have a couple of hours to myself but as H is newly potty trained DH wants me to come along too.

Ash, I am glad your DD is feeling better.

Lins, I hope the little family are settling down with the new baby and you get to see them again soon.

Hope all the Covid warriors are doing ok and thoughts to all struggling with illness or worried about unwell family members.

Take care and stay safe??

Beechnut Thu 27-Jan-22 08:08:55

Good morning everyone fro Severnside. It’s dry here.

A mix of good and not so good news from you all so far.
I shall carry on with my crafting today. I wish my class would start up again. I saw one locally but I thought it was rather expensive for what it was.

If the sun comes out I’m going to trim up some shrubs or tidy the dead stems.

Have a good day all ?good luck with your ear Mick
