Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and wet here in brackley this morning .
Today , housework plus shredding to do today , as well watching TV .
I cannot wait for the milder arm air , so my trips out can be more enjoyable instead of a cold wind .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, all, from a wet and windy Torbay. Our first real rain for several days.

Welcome to the newbies from yesterday, Ning74 (happy news regarding the baby DGD's) and Heatherbee.

What a relief to know your family in Bristol are now free of Covid-19, grandMattie. Some welcome uplifting news for you, along with the finding of your precious ring! I hope you enjoyed your lunch in Conwy yesterday, Pantglas.

My gran used to knit socks, BlueBalou. I remember being fascinated by the number of needles as I watched. I hope your day in charge went well, baubles and that you enjoyed your family gathering, Chrissielou. There were a few children at the ballet, Gingster so perhaps your DGD would enjoy going when a little older? I hope you’re not too cold with snow in Inverness, brook2704! I guess you’re used to it in your part of the UK. No doubt you enjoyed Hairspray, BlueSapphire.

I hope Gracie continues to recover, FannyCornforth and you feel better today, Marydoll. I can understand your frustrations regarding your vaccination record. I trust your partner is recovering, multicolourswapshop. Being at home will help. Did you find your hearing aid, Gwenisgreat1.

Poor you without heating, EllanVannin! I do hope it has been sorted out. Disgraceful! And with other family worries, too. My heart goes out to you. And to Maria59 with her DGS in hospital.

As I generally post early, there are few post on which to comment so I’ve read through yesterday’s, resulting in a rather long post today!

Time I got going as I want to do a few things before church. Have a revitalising Sunday, folks! ?????

Good morning from a dark and stormy E Kent.
I thought I would be well down on the posters, but no, despite my delayed rise, I’m not.
Firstly, before Christmas, I offered any of you lovely people to make you a tote. gagagran replied and the photo is of her bag. It looks better in real life, with more detail. Hope you enjoy using it, gaga.
Sunday school today, I am to be the prophetess Anna, in the story of the presentation of Jesus to the Temple.
I took out one of my stashed gammon joints for dinner which we shall eat with a ratatouille. I find gammon and lamb go very well with this vegetables.
Spanish homework this afternoon while DH watches the rugby.
Have a quiet day, full of flamingos ???and ☀️ sunshine. Carpe diem. ❤️???☀️?

Good morning Mick from a dark and blustery Oxfordshire.
Nothing much happening today, I’ve had a bug all week so still a bit wobbly.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible, with hugs to those who are in need of one,

Gagagran Sun 06-Feb-22 07:06:01

Good Morning everyone from a windy and wet south coast. 9.4c at present.

I love the tote Mattie! Thank you so much. It will be used and loved and I am sure, much admired. You are very talented as well as kind. flowers

A quiet day beckons but that suits me. Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Beechnut Sun 06-Feb-22 07:13:39

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s wet outside and warmer indoors than yesterday.

Another lovely tote Mattie.

Welcome to the new good morningers.

I’m going to make some birthday cards and have a go at decorating a tissue box for my bedroom.

Have a good day all ???

multicolourswapshop Sun 06-Feb-22 07:18:15

Good morning everyone from the east coat of Fife where it’s starting to become light it’s looks dry and cold from my door ring bell view but as usual I’m in my soooo cosy bed with a warm duvet.

.I’m pondering how to cook chicken wings and chips one handed in my lovely new air fryer. My dh and I will hopefully enjoy these for our dinner this evening.

To all those out there who are anxious and sad today I’m sending lots of warm hugs and best wishes for a good day. I keep saying, in my case, things can only get better. hmm

Beauregard Sun 06-Feb-22 07:39:16

Good morning from a horrible morning weatherwise here in Derbyshire. It rained so much in the night and is still very windy.

We'll go a walk later this morning if there is a dry spell. DH is happy to walk whatever the weather, but me ... not so much so!

DD let me know yesterday that SiL now has Covid too, as well as our eldest DGS. Apparently SiL is feeling quite unwell, despite having had all his vaccinations.

I've finally finished dressing my dresser with a few ornaments, old and new, and we put up some pictures and photos yesterday. It's uplifting to make a few little changes that make a room look complete.

Hope Sunday is a good day for all.

brook2704 Sun 06-Feb-22 07:45:18

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had a bit more snow overnight and it’s still snowing now ⛄️ It’s forecast to be mild tomorrow though so it won’t last long
Hope you’re feeling better soon oops
Yesterday we braved the weather and enjoyed a walk by the river in town, I’m not sure what we’re doing today yet.
Sorry to hear your SiL and DGD have covid beauregard, hope they recover quickly
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

kittylester Sun 06-Feb-22 07:47:37

Good morning all from a wet and windy North Leicestershire.

Getting going early as we are off to the Suffolk seaside as soon as we are packed. The plan is to stop for breakfast about 10 miles down the road and then have a cream tea, in our room, while dh watched his team play the team his brother supports! I will watch the sea!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Jaxjacky Sun 06-Feb-22 07:53:26

Good morning all from a windy, wet S Hants, no snow here unfortunately.
A day of sport on the TV yesterday, Kidderminster were superb, such a shame. We did go for a walk, the wind was keen though.
More sport, a walk and washing today, beef and squash curry for dinner.
Enjoy your day, thoughts with those struggling ??.

Jaxjacky Sun 06-Feb-22 07:53:59

Enjoy the seaside kitty.

Sar53 Sun 06-Feb-22 07:58:14

Good morning from a damp and windy Essex by the sea.
DH is going to rugby with his grandsons this morning then football and rugby to watch later.
I shall be packing for our trip away tomorrow. Like Kitty we are going to Suffolk for a few days. I'm looking forward to someone else doing the cooking.
Enjoy Sunday whatever you may be doing xx

BlueSapphire Sun 06-Feb-22 08:00:25

Goodness, thought I would be way down the list as well!

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton. A busy day ahead as I am off to London to see yet another musical! It was a Christmas present from DS and family, they also gave the same to DD. There are 5 of us going: DD, DD-out-law, elder DGD and one of her friends, and me. We are going to see a musical based on Pride and Prejudice. Lunch will be taken before the show.

I very much enjoyed Hairspray yesterday, but found some of the dialogue difficult to follow because of the strong American accent. I was glad I'd read a brief outline of the story beforehand. However the music and dancing were outstanding, and a packed house added to the atmosphere. (As did a glass of Prosecco!) Imagine my surprise to find that DD-out-law and elder DGD were also in the audience!

Well, must get my skates on as we are off on a mid-morning train. Wishing all a good day

Grandmajean Sun 06-Feb-22 08:04:45

Don't think the rain has stopped here in Cheshire since yesterday morning !
Youngest GD's birthday today. She is 7 . A lovely age. Will be heading round later with tacky Barbie Mermaid doll that she requested !

Grandmabatty Sun 06-Feb-22 08:06:36

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and feels cold. Windy and wet again today, by the looks of it. Kittylester and Sar have a nice holiday. I hope your family feel better soon Beauregard.
Yesterday was housework day. Got everything done and made a big pot of lentil soup as well. I'll put some in the freezer. I finished the zombie series from Korea that I've been binging so I'll have to find something new to watch.
Today I have nothing planned. I don't expect to see family so it'll be a solitary day. I don't mind that as I'm happy with my own company. Dinner will be gammon. Have a good day all.

Gingster Sun 06-Feb-22 08:07:53

Good morning all and it’s wet and windy here in Essex. My garden table has blown over and isn’t where it should be.?

Ash you are such a dear, remembering and commenting on everyone’s ‘doings’. ❤️. It’s lovely when you see your name mentioned. ?

Kittylester - I hope you have a lovely time on the Suffolk Coast. Perhaps you will be near our cottage ? ?. We hope to go up for half term next week, as DD hopefully won’t need us . We haven’t been up since the beginning of November, which is a long absence for us. I expect the garden will need a lot of attention and it will be good to check up on everything. Being right by the sea, anything could happen ?. Although our kindly neighbour keeps an eye for us.

GM - the tote bag is lovely.

Nothing on for us today ?. Read the papers, book club offering ? and crosswords for me. Dh and I both enjoy the Winter Olympics so that will be on too. . Gammon for a late afternoon meal.

Wishing you all a good Sunday. Keep cosy and safe. ???

Pittcity Sun 06-Feb-22 08:09:51

Good morning from a wet and windy Colchester.
I got a bit of gardening done yesterday in preparation for the rain that started last night. Today will be an indoors day with roast pork later.
Love to all ? x

Gingster Sun 06-Feb-22 08:10:33

Oh Sar - I hadn’t seen your post re you going to Suffolk too.
Let me know where you’re going! Have a nice break away. ?

Urmstongran Sun 06-Feb-22 08:19:25

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s raining, with grey and white cloud cover and the bare trees are bending in the wind. Brr! A proper winter’s day in fact.

My stepfather will be joining us for a Sunday lunch of roast gammon, cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes. The plates will need a touch of colour (thinks she artfully) so will be accompanied by peas. Or sweetheart cabbage. I will let Himself choose that way he’ll feel manly and consulted.

Kettle’s boiled so I’m making my own tea. Yesterday’s rugby watching of two games must have tired him out!

? to Ning74 with two new granddaughters - just like buses eh? Not a sign of one then two turn up together. And ? to you too Heatherbee it’s nice to have you join us.

grandMattie Sun 06-Feb-22 08:21:42

Everyone - the offer still stands!

dragonfly46 Sun 06-Feb-22 08:22:18

Good morning from as kitty says a wet and windy Leicestershire.

Sitting up in bed admiring my new curtains which took some getting up yesterday. I have two windows so 4 curtains plus blackout linings one of which proved to be faulty.
Now awaiting the new glossy furniture!

That is a lovely bag Mattie. Your family are so lucky to have you - you are so talented.

We have a friend dropping in for ☕️ this afternoon who we haven’t seen for years.

Hope everyone has a good day.

baubles Sun 06-Feb-22 08:25:02

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s trying to snow.

Yesterday was dreadful for sales in the shop. The heavy rain hardly let up at all and we’re in a pedestrian area which was devoid of pedestrians the entire day. Didn’t even cover our costs.

I was home late last night from childminding for DD’s littlest one whilst the rest of the family were out at the Strictly Come Dancing show. It was such a joy to see the three girls burst through the door in a mass of sequins and glitter on their return. I hadn’t seen them in an age due to covid and the eldest launched herself at me, wrapping her arms tightly around me for such a long time, she took my breath away.

Church at 11 then a day of sorting and tidying with a bit of admin thrown in.

I’m going back to read the thread properly now.

Have a peaceful Sunday everyone. ??

Serendipity22 Sun 06-Feb-22 08:25:28

Good morning everyone from a windy Yorkshire. Not as windy as lastnight whoaaa i thought the house would be uprooted and swung through the air.

Well i woke up at 5am with that little boy in Morocco on my mind ( he fell 100ft down a shaft ) he was rescued lastnight, i cried with joy at this, then i had him on mind all night. Woke at 4am to read that the poor little mite has died.

sad

Being the wife of a British king she was always going to be queen - talk of being princess consort was a sop to public opinion in the early days when there was much hostility.

Just as when various members of the royal family separated but announce there are no plans to divorce - they did that with Charles, Anne and Andrew. They have to break it gently to the public!
