Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, and wet here in brackley this morning .
Today , housework plus shredding to do today , as well watching TV .
I cannot wait for the milder arm air , so my trips out can be more enjoyable instead of a cold wind .
Take Care,
Mick

Ooh, sorry wrong thread! Good morning everyone!

Good morning all from a very blustery and wet Glasgow, where it is only 3°C.

Ash, thank you. My frustration was mainly about not being able to prove that I had my First Primary vaccine, I couldn't get anyone to believe me.
I know the situation will resolve itself, just not at my speed!

Today, I shall be having a very quiet day, apart from packing for the hen do tomorrow. We are having a murder mystery evening tomorrow and DD is looking to borrow a wrap ( she is a Hollywood movie star) and my swimming costume. ( the house has a pool, but my body is not for public display ) As usual I have been procrastinating, because I am little apprehensive about going , but everyone will do lateral flows and I can't stay incarcerated for ever!

My wee Dollie did indeed come to church last night, helped us to close up and tidy the church. She thinks she has now a permanent position. She is such a tonic. ?
A bit of a joker and wanting to shock me, she told me she had been sent to the headteacher.?. She had actually won the star writer award, she has my genes! ? # veryproudgran.

We had a bit of a laugh at the beginning of Mass. MrMD nudged me to say the priest was gesticulating at me, everyone was looking, but I was in a dwam. He had tried to attract the attention of the duty sacristan, but she too, was oblivious. How could neither of us not notice the main lights weren't on! ? It was really quite dim in the church.
I made such a racket trying to get out to go and put them on, as I fell over DH's feet and my walking stick. Such a noticebox, as we used to say in school. An very noisy way of letting people know that I am back in public life! ?

Praying for a gentle day for those in the sick bay and all who support them. So glad to hear Maria's wee grandson is making progress.
Finally, I want to thank some grans who don't post on here, who sent PMs. Their kindness gave me such a lift. Thats the best thing about GN!

Good morning from a rainy Black Country!

Not a lot to report, just housework yesterday and curry for dinner. Saturday evening we make a special effort for our meal, candles etc and dress up!

Spent sometime yesterday with laptop as it won’t connect to internet! It is 6 years old , so perhaps a new one is due?

May call my friend who lives nearby today, as she lives on her own as her DH died in 2004 (only 49), and see if she fancies a walk.

Welcome to all our new posters

Good morning all from our corner of the S Welsh coast. A dry but cold day yesterday and a very wet night. We took the little dog for a long walk, he then slept all afternoon in front of the fire.
I hope your covid family members recover soon Beauregard.
Have a good holiday Sar and kitty.
Cottage pie and roast vegetables on the menu here.
Hope that Sunday is kind to us all.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Another dry day with some blue sky about. We had a very heavy short rainstorm yesterday evening.
This morning I am off to ‘Bubbles and Bonbons’ in our village hall to celebrate the accession. A lovely chance to meet up.
We have been asked to bring along some 50’s memorabilia so I have been looking though my parents bits and pieces. I have my mum’s ration book and both their identity cards, some wedding photos (they married in 1950), a programme for the Coronation and guides for the 1951 festival of Britain and Madame Tussaud’s. I also found a few coins.
Ash you are amazing remembering so many people! If I go back and forward I will lose my post so I will wish happy holidays to the travellers to Suffolk and a good day to you all.

Good morning Auntyflo and all

Good morning all from bright but breezy Harrogate.
No didn’t find hearing aid Ash Will phone the blood test department tomorrow to see if it was found. Problem is it very different from the conventional hearing aid, and not many people will recognise it as anything but a funny bit of plastic. I shall have to gear myself up for a trip to the hospital in York and a telling off!
GrandMattie the bag is lovely, I hope you are feeling better again. Dgs is not well, hoping he is well enough to come here this pm, but it could be COVID so have to ca’ canny!
Have the best day you can folks!

Aly, you can have the GM threads open in two tabs at the same time. Read one and comment on the other!

Marydoll Sun 06-Feb-22 08:45:09

Love the bag GM. Is it cotton?

Well doing first day of isolation after testing positive yesterday. Have dodged this through going nowhere and doing nothing for two years but I work with children and it’s finally caught up with me. Have the usual symptoms and awful sore throat and headaches a week off and I’ll be back I hope fit to fight another day. Will try and see the positive side and get some reading done and pray for the time I can see my son again.

Alygran Sun 06-Feb-22 09:01:36

Why didn’t I think of that Mary?
I’ve just fried my brain doing Nerdle!
Harris hope you feel better soon. ?

It works if your brain is sharp, Aly. I often get so muddled, I make a mess of it!

Off to try French Wordle, my brain will certainly be fried. The Italian one is much easier!
Buona giornata a tutti.

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright but showery Carlisle. It's a distinct improvement on yesterday which was wild and windy with heavy rain seemingly nonstop. I went nowhere, didn't even poke my head out of the door. After sorting out minor jobs, I was mostly in front of the computer or reading. Except for a burst of activity mid-afternoon when I followed a streamed exercise class. It was one I used to do regularly until I was somewhat unwell last year. I took it at a gentler pace than the onscreen participants but I'm planning/hoping to get up to speed eventually. Getting older is not an excuse!
Today? Depends on the weather...a bit of gardening or a walk later possibly, otherwise a day of frustration indoors because I can't get out.
Harris, my DS2 thinks it not a case of if you get covid but when. I hope he's wrong but there's consistently a lot of it about on this thread alone. I hope you're feeling better soon.
And the best possible Sunday to all.

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. I’m back home now and it’s a bright day after the awful rain in Salford yesterday. Didn’t deter us though and sought refuge in a bar at lunch for wine and nibbles to while away the time.

A tidy round here this morning then out for lunch with DS and family. It is his 34th birthday today. How did that happen! He was born on a memorable day the day HM the Queen ascended the throne.

Will catch up with posts later.
Take care everyone.

Did it in 3 but took some pondering!
We lived in Italy for a short while when I was little but my Italian has deserted me! (But I did understand your last line)

Good morning- a bit grey today, and off to have lunch with my big bro in Montreux, and then off to the 4 Vallées in the Alps.

My knee which I hurt badly falling last week has recovered well, temperature and headache from booster gone, and no discomfort and great results from coloscopy and endoscopy!! What a 10 days it has been... Onwards

Grammaretto Sun 06-Feb-22 09:33:54

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. The sun is shining and no sign of the snow we've been promised.

Riverwalk grin I wondered if Good Morningers were becoming very interested in the Royals all of a sudden.

I should go out and get in food supplies for the family in case they call by this afternoon. It will also make me get out of this chair. Service on zoom and then I must get on with my "list" of jobs to do.
My DBiL was famous for procrastination but I think that honour has been bestowed on me.
Lovely bag grandMattie.
Have as good a day as you can everybody.

cornergran Sun 06-Feb-22 09:42:33

Morning Mick, morning All. A slow start hiding from a very windy and damp corner of Somerset.

Today I will finish the admin backlog - gave up yesterday, it was hurting my head. A roast later to ponder. Mr C will iron then tackle his latest jigsaw. I like to wander past when there are just half a dozen pieces left and ‘help’ grin

Safe travels to all out and about, a hope poorly families are on the mend soon and a hug for anyone feeling sad.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. .

harrigran Sun 06-Feb-22 09:47:43

Good morning from a windy, wet NE.
DS and family didn't come yesterday, youngest GD has covid. DD, SIL and I did tests which were negative.
Quiet day today, too cold to go out walking.
Take care.

EllanVannin Sun 06-Feb-22 10:15:45

Good Morning All x.
Very stormy this morning, it's only the strong wind that's keeping the rain away. Been outside to feed old Tom but it doesn't appear to feel too cold---thank goodness !
I put the electric fire on at teatime yesterday as it felt a bit parky, but I think part of that was due to me wallowing because of the gas situation----it'll turn to anger tomorrow IF anyone calls ! He'll be sorry grin

DearAshcombe ,you think of everyone, such a lovely kind person. It doesn't go unnoticed. flowers

Good job I have the daily Matt to give me a smile. I did laugh at this morning's Urms.
I also enjoyed watching the young Japanese figure skating earlier, he was absolutely amazing at only 18. A star.

Chicken's i'thoven, so that's my dinner today with all the trimmings of course. My mum used to say, "whatever's going on our EV can always eat " smile She'd be tickled pink right now.

Lovely to hear of theatre visits and general outings as at least "hope springs eternal " for the rest of the year, a change from the last couple of years. In fact now and again I ask myself what happened to 2020 ? It feels to be a missed-out year.

I forgot to put the bathroom heater on for a shower so it'll have to be a kettle of water for a wash, never mind it's not the end of the world. I'll just stand under the shower next week, for spite gringrin.

I hope you'll all enjoy your day, stay safe and well xx

Morning from Dunoon where the rain has been constant since I arrived on Friday. We’ve only managed a very short walk yesterday but I’m still having a lovely time. Lots of chat, reading and eating, I really enjoy my stays here.
DBiL has a fascinating book ‘Phrases and Sayings’ giving the origins of all our often used quotations. Who knew that one of the reasons we say ‘Calamity Jane’ was that 11 of her12 husbands died untimely deaths! Not to mention the rest of her catastrophes.

Off to mass soon and later I am treating us to lunch out.

Wishing you all a good Sunday???

GrannyGravy13 Sun 06-Feb-22 10:47:52

Morning Mick and all
