I cant believe that West Ham footballer did that to his cat. They should take that poor cat away from him and fine him.
He is unfit to look after any animal. Im sure he will get it in the neck next time his on the pitch.

I’m not sure about the RSPCA. They have an excellent track record for taking abusive animal owners etc to court.

If he is French I wonder if the incident took place in the U.K. ?

Yes I think it was in his £2 million house!

The Met are a disgrace and need a total clear out and fresh start.

No further action will be taken by either the Met Police or the RSPCA, apparently.

I wonder what West Ham fans will have to say about it when next he plays.

I can’t believe that no action has been taken against him. But I think West Ham fans will give him something to think about. Maybe he should give a year salary to the cat protection as well as being banned for life from keeping any animal ?

What a disgusting individual, I have just seen the write up and video.
I have written to the RSPCA and also to West Ham.
If these people let this go without prosecuting him and firing him then its an absolute disgrace.
What is it coming to. A lovely little cat subjected to horrible kicking and hitting, too much to think about tbh.
Our animals are so trusting, it beggars belief. I can't bear it.

Compared to the female kicking and slapping a horse who has lost her job and the RSPCA has taken her to court.

Flipping footballers should not be above the law

It was reported (so not necessarily true) that the RSPCA will be taking no further action.

Absolutely sickening made my stomach turn plus the fact the child had hold of the cat in second incident and he hit it , so as well as booting the cat he then slapped it! Wonder what else goes on!

newnanny Tue 08-Feb-22 10:51:10

Absolutely sickening. As he is rich and famous he will.no doubt get away with it. The Bengal should be taken away from him and re-homed with someone who will love and treasure it. Even when cat was clearly frightened and in distress he chased it and slapped it on the head. He should be banned from ever owning an animal of any type ever again. I hope he loses his sponsors.

Reading about this is upsetting enough for me to know I couldn’t bear to watch the video. I can’t believe he is not being made to suffer any consequences of animal cruelty.
Despicable man whose brains are obviously in his feet!

LilacChaser Tue 08-Feb-22 11:01:09

Horrible person. Doesn't deserve to keep animals.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 08-Feb-22 11:07:32

The RSPCA’s Twitter feed has a statement, basically they are saying that they are aware of the footage and at this time it is inappropriate to talk about individual cases.

Reading between the lines I guess they are on the case

Kali2 Tue 08-Feb-22 11:11:09

I have not seen it, thank goodness. If that woman was sacked for kicking a horse, then so should he.

Larsonsmum Tue 08-Feb-22 11:14:12

The cat should definitely be taken away from him. That would be the case with anyone else in such circumstances. In fact, I believe there will be outrage if this does not happen.

I do hope so.

Shocking and horrible as this is, a cat has at least the option of running out of an open door, or jumping out a window and finding a new home for itself.

Having said that, I remembered our "rescue cats" - the female had found an open window and jumped out of their abusive owner's home, but as she could not persuade her brother to follow her, she jumped back in, and put up with the abuse, until they were rescued.

This man's child does not - or not anything like as easily.

Unfortunately, I doubt social services will deem him an unfit father on the basis of a video showing his gross cruelty to the cat.

I wish I hadn't seen this thread,it has really upset me.

TwiceAsNice Tue 08-Feb-22 11:47:26

I haven’t seen it and don’t want to. I love my cat and she is very spoilt and loves me back. I have been devastated if I have accidently bumped into her when she’s got under my feet. She gets a treat and a cuddle immediately to say sorry.

Any person who mistreats animals should be horse whipped!

Gwyneth Tue 08-Feb-22 12:24:18

Appalling. Who do these footballers think they are? Entitled and overpaid. I really hope the RSPCA prosecute. A terrible example to set for young football fans. I read that he has two cats. Both should be re-homed immediately. If he has any decency he should make a contribution, out of his no doubt substantial salary, to an animal charity.

Elizabeth27 Tue 08-Feb-22 12:59:22

I think the brother that filmed it should also be prosecuted.

Many people will remember the lady that put the cat in a wheely bin about 10 years ago, this far more horrific incident will stay with the footballer for life.

Oldwoman70 Tue 08-Feb-22 18:43:45

Apparently the RSPCA will only take action if they receive complaints - I suggest we all contact them and make so many complaints they can't ignore them

ShazzaKanazza Tue 08-Feb-22 19:09:57

This is a truly shocking story the horrible man. I can’t see him getting a good reception when he walks out on the pitch anymore. I’m not a cat person but would never ever hurt one. Poor little thing.

I have written to them and asked them to take the cat in for re-homing.

He should be banned from playing as well as fined. Disgusting person! How can anyone do that to a poor defenceless animal? It's sick!

Callistemon21 Tue 08-Feb-22 20:59:03

It was reported that West Ham is playing tonight.
I hope he has a suspension.
