I cant believe that West Ham footballer did that to his cat. They should take that poor cat away from him and fine him.
He is unfit to look after any animal. Im sure he will get it in the neck next time his on the pitch.

Seen on Twitter:
I see that West Ham is playing that prick Zouma tonight! Well done David Moyes, clearly not a fan of animals!

Not my language but I agree with the sentiment - just unacceptable

Shinamae Tue 08-Feb-22 21:44:43

I am not on Face book but my son is telling me he’s getting a lot of stick on there. Apparently there is a cage fighter more or less saying if you think you’re so hard come and have a go at me you B*****d!!

avitorl Tue 08-Feb-22 21:54:58

I can't bring myself to watch the video. It makes me cry just thinking about it.He really should be prosecuted for what he has done to that poor cat.
I have a rescue cat who is afraid of men and I wonder just what she has suffered before coming to me.

He Is playing tonight and everytime he kicks the ball he is getting booed.

rafichagran

He Is playing tonight and everytime he kicks the ball he is getting booed.

And my son says he has had some hard tackles and they are saying “now you know how that cat felt” and also his sponsors are looking into it as well…

Gwyneth Tue 08-Feb-22 22:14:22

Good that he’s getting booed but a bit surprised he was playing thought they’d just let it blow over.

Callistemon21 Tue 08-Feb-22 22:17:41

It shouldn't be allowed to blow over.

Not just cruelty against an animal but filming it, laughing and hitting the animal when your child has picked it up is unforgivable.

Gwyneth Tue 08-Feb-22 22:53:37

I agree Callistemon but I suspect that’s what will happen if the RSPCA do not prosecute or remove his cats. Can I make it clear that I was not implying that it should be allowed to ‘blow over’ I think you have misinterpreted my comment. If you look at my earlier comment you will see how appalled I was to hear about what happened. I have a cat myself and absolutely abhor any cruelty or abuse of animals.

OnwardandUpward Tue 08-Feb-22 23:06:44

I couldn't watch the video. I'm so upset reading what happened and I wasn't going to comment, but in the end I am commenting because I googled and found "People who hurt animals don't stop with animals. ... This includes child abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse and other violent behaviour."

So, the Met Police aren't going to do anything. Is that because he's not in their area or because they are busy looking the other way, doing other things? No surprises about the Met Police. Sack all of them and start again!

Some animal charity needs to get involved and also, just think those men are someone's sons. How embarassing for their mother.

I misunderstood, Gwyneth, sorry.

I hope the authorities do follow this up and read that firms are reconsidering their sponsorship of West Ham because they were appalled that he played tonight..

Yes. He lives in Essex

Zoejory Tue 08-Feb-22 23:14:43

RSPCA and police are now getting involved. The police had initially said they weren't going to investigate. Power of public opinion has them changing their minds. Thank goodness.

As for David Moyes, he needs sacking as well. How dare he play that vile Zouma the day after this appalling footage was. taken.

Moyes and Zouma can disappear as far as I'm concerned. Disgraceful.

Moyes actually said he wanted Zouma to play because he was one of his better players?! Words fail me.

Hopefully young football fans don't get the message that it's perfectly fine to kick your cat

Gwyneth Tue 08-Feb-22 23:18:28

No problem Callistemon and thank you. I just hope that action is taken. I think that although West Ham say the matter will be dealt with internally the fact that they allowed him to play does not suggest to me that they are taking the matter seriously.

OnwardandUpward Tue 08-Feb-22 23:22:50

ZoeJory thats brilliant. That was my main reason for commenting, to bump it up on the site. Great to know that public opinon counts!

Thanks Callistemon , I'd never heard of him as I'm not a fan, so didnt know where he lives. Lets hope he gets dealt with "good and proper!"

Callistemon21 Tue 08-Feb-22 23:46:47

I hadn't heard of him either, OnwardandUpward but it said on the main news (briefly) that Essex Police are investigating.

Trouble is a lot of these footballers are treated like gods and paid a fortune and they have such an inflated view of their own importance that they think they are untouchable. Maybe if every UK football team refused to have him play for them it might hit him where it hurts- in his pocket. He has another cat as well so both these cats should be taken from him and he should be banned from keeping any other animal. What example is he setting to the younger generation of football fans?

Peartree Wed 09-Feb-22 06:29:32

My DH is a West Ham supporter and he is disgusted. He said that Moyles is obviously not an animal lover.

Peartree Wed 09-Feb-22 06:30:28

Moyes.

nanna8 Wed 09-Feb-22 06:51:57

This is how cats should be treated

MissAdventure Wed 09-Feb-22 07:18:15

I havent read anything or seen the video.
Despicable, vile, and disgusting to be cruel to an animal, though.

I hope he gets what's coming to him, and a bit more on top.

Riverwalk Wed 09-Feb-22 07:51:07

At the very least I expected him to be dropped from last night's game but he played on the grounds that he's one of their best players!

I think sh*t might hit someone's fan today.

OnwardandUpward Wed 09-Feb-22 08:17:28

Awww I am an animal lover. Cute cat Nanna8

Lets hope Karma bites his backside today!

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 09-Feb-22 09:37:26

Despicable bast*rd. The brother too. Unfortunately if he’s prosecuted the penalties are woefully inadequate. After the booing last night, which I hope continues, perhaps Moyes will think again about his ‘value’ to the club and his sponsors will withdraw support. Hitting him in his pocket is the way to go. I wish the cats would be removed too but have my doubts it will happen.?

nanna8 Wed 09-Feb-22 09:37:40

Twins from the cat protection society, onward, beautiful natured little girls.

Iam64 Wed 09-Feb-22 09:58:51

I’ve just read there are 50,000 signatures on a petition calling on police and rspca to investigate.
Reports yesterday said he was angry because the cat messed in the house. His brother filmed him smacking the cat out of his child’s arms, then kicking it the length of the kitchen chasing the terrified animal. The recording has people laughing at this.
He claims the cars are loved and this incident isolated. I don’t believe that. It’s a pattern if behaviour.

His cats removed immediately, a police/rspca investigation should follow. He deserves to and should be prosecuted. What kind of example for his child. It gives the child a clear message - don’t upset daddy.
