Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in brackley this morning , with town hall clock visible with the lighting on.
Today, very much a stay at home day , with a small local early shop .
Looking for signs of Spring as to flowers but nothing here yet.
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dark and dry here and I’ve woken up feeling warm.

I strolled up my garden yesterday to see what was coming up and when I got to the end found a new fence has been put up. I never saw any signs of it happening so no idea as to when it was done ?

No idea what I will do today after my early morning jobs so I’ll just take the day as it comes.

Take care all ??

Good morning from a dark cool E Kent. The temperatures are to soar to 13ish degrees today. Then tomorrow back to low single figures.
The Laura Ashley talk was a bit underwhelming but I palled up with two delightful ladies who are close friends of each other rejoicing in the names of Gladys and Mavis, such old fashioned names - mind you, mine is too!
I’m going to lunch with an acquaintance I haven’t seen for years although we don’t live that far away. Should be ok as she talks 19 to the dozen, I shan’t need to make much effort.
The snowdrops are wonderful in the churchyard, I’m now waiting for my favourite winter aconites.
Hope you all have a lovely day, it’s not too stormy in central England, too cold in Scotland, etc. Carpe diem. ????☀️?☀️??

Morning all from a rather gloomy me in bed in Derby.
Unfortunately it’s going to be very much a ‘Good Moaning’ post from me. So I apologise in advance

Despite my previous pronouncements about an improvement in my leg; I’m afraid I was far too optimistic.

I’m going to ring the GP and insist that something must be done.
I need to see an orthopaedic surgeon pronto.

My leg is like a dead weight from the knee down.
I just cannot walk.

I think that I b*ggered it up walking the short distance to the X-ray department on Sunday.
I should have used a wheelchair, but I was scared that DH might get into difficulty pushing it ( he’s on oxygen therapy)

I need an X-ray of my lower leg and then I can book an appointment with a Mr Quah who I have heard very good things about.

Listening to Christie and Wodehouse on audible is keeping my pecker up (just about)
I’m avoiding the news. It’s just too awful.

Loved the place name and cheese stories yesterday!

My own cheese story is from my student days in York.
Someone actually found their cling film wrapped cheddar in the communal fridge, with a huge bite taken out of it; the teeth marks were very visible.

It led to a lot of very passive aggressive behaviour in the kitchen and surrounding areas. (Labels, posters etc, including ‘To the person who left teethmarks in my cheese…’)

Have a peaceful and pleasant day everyone.
Love to those who are worried, sad or poorly x

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is a little warmer today.
Yesterday I had a lovely busy day with the grandchildren and today I need to take the car for a service and then pop into the factory for a while. So a rather quiet day for me!!
I think seeing the town hall clock seems like a nice thing for you Mick which is something I would like too.
Take care everyone and stay safe and warm❤️

Good morning, everyone, from a calm, dry Torbay at the moment with rain expected later.

Yesterday, I enjoyed meeting a new recruit to Toads, to whom I gave a guided tour of our theatre. One unexpected benefit of the pandemic is the increase we’re seeing in people joining us because they want to make the most of the freedom we have to go out! In many cases, they don’t want to act but wish to help back stage or as Front of House stewards, bar or coffee shop staff. Such supporters are most welcome. Our plays couldn’t run without them!

Good luck to you, FannyCornforth; it sounds as if you need to be seen urgently. Please keep us posted on your progress. Enjoy your lunch, grandMattie! It’s interesting how names come and go in popularity. According to Robert Frost: “Good fences make good neighbours.”, Beechnut!

I hope today is kind to all. ?????

Good morning all and there is a huge star in the sky (well I think it’s a star) ?. Does anyone know what it is?

Mild and dry here in Essex.

Dd and I are off for a hospital appointment at midday, to find out what further treatment is needed for her skin cancer. I do hope it won’t make her too poorly, as she’s feeling so well at the moment and getting back, at last, to ‘normal’ after the ops.

DGD has Dress Up day at school today.’ Knights and Princesses’.
I’ll take her and enjoy seeing all the costumes.

Eldest DGD messaged me last night, very upset. She’s at Uni doing a Mental Health Nursing degree and has been given her next placement from Easter to Summer term. It’s an hour and a half away and is in another Psychiatric Hospital . She’s already had a placement in a PH., and should be given a different area of experience. She’s appealed but ‘they’ say that’s the only one on offer. I hope common sense will prevail ?. Something else to worry over ?.

Fanny - so sorry to hear about your leg. Let’s hope you have a quick referral.

Hoping you all have a pleasant and stress-free day. ???

Gagagran Wed 09-Feb-22 07:23:01

Good Morning everyone from a 6.5c south coast. Clear sky and I think we are promised another good day but more cloud cropping up later.

Had the excitement of a parcel in the post yesterday when my gift from the skilled and very kind grandMattie arrived as she promised. It has a lovely Yorkshire rose appliqued on the side and is so attractive that I have hung it in the hallway like a mini wall hanging! I am very touched and grateful for this gift. Thank you dear Mattiexx.

DH is out with his bike club today so I have an empty but have plans involving finding and booking an oven cleaner operative. I have managed to keep the oven in good order since it was last done about 7 years ago but it does need a good "fettle" now, as any Yorkshire born person will understand!

Have a good day everyone - my tulips are starting to poke through the soil in their pots! Spring is nearer every day. sunshine

Good morning all from the Black country, haven't opened curtains yet so don't know what the weather is doing.
Mums and toddlers today, will still go although Dil won't be there she tested positive yesterday, she now joins Dgs who is positive asymptomatic.
Nothing else planned, hoping to go for meal later if I can persuade DH.
Nice to hear from you Fanny let's hope you can get something sorted asap, please keep us posted.
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ?.

cornergran Wed 09-Feb-22 07:26:40

Morning Mick, , morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks both dry and calm

Excellent coffee and lunch with a friend yesterday. Today it’s grocery delivery and beginning a Spring clean, one room each a week it will soon be done.

Good wishes to both your daughters gingster, not easy for any of you. Wishing you a quick response fanny, that sounds worrying. Snowdrops look amazing around a Church near here, nothing appearing in our garden as yet.

Wishing you all the best day it can be. Get well wishes for all poorly folk.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton. Hoping it stays dry, as I would like to walk to the local garden centre this afternoon; I need a birthday card for DS, and they have a good selection there.

Had a good health walk yesterday afternoon and most of us went for coffee afterwards; it was good to get out of the house and be in company.

Must update my Sainsbury's order at some time today, and ring a company about annual travel insurance.

Hoping those feeling down or under the weather see some improvement today. flowersflowers

baubles Wed 09-Feb-22 07:34:44

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy and damp South Lanarkshire.

I’m sorry to hear about your leg Fanny.

Best wishes for your DD Gingster.

Our afternoon out with the three grandchildren yesterday was just lovely. It was so good to hear their chat and they all enjoyed the film.

Work today, I’m looking forward to it.

Have the best day possible and look out for ???.

Beauregard Wed 09-Feb-22 07:40:36

Good morning from Derbyshire where it's raining. The mention of snowdrops made me think of the little clumps now flowering in our garden which originally came from my mum and dads garden 20 years ago, after mum died. A nice memory when they appear each year.

Thanks to those who sent good wishes yesterday after I mentioned my little grandsons heart hole closing up by itself without requiring surgery. Your kind comments made me realise even more just how precious he is.

Hope Wednesday is a good day for all.

Ali23 Wed 09-Feb-22 07:45:21

Good morning everyone. I’ve been enjoying reading your greetings but never posted here before.

Fanny, I’m sorry to hear about your leg. I do hope you can be referred soon.

I had an awful day yesterday, attending a pre-op assessment appointment that left me feeling like Alice in Wonderland.
I am trusting that the actual surgeons know what they are doing!

Hopefully going out for a nice long walk with DH and the dog this morning, to blow the cobwebs away and have a much better day!

brook2704 Wed 09-Feb-22 07:46:56

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it looks like it’s a bit frosty and cold at about 2º, some light snow in the air too
Sorry to hear about your leg Fanny hopefully something can be sorted soon and some improvement made
We’re looking after the DGC until Friday as DD1 and SiL are away a couple of nights. So today it’s the school pick up and then straight to swimming lessons for them both. A bit of a rush time wise so hope we’re not late. Then back home here for the requested home made Pizzas with extra toppings!
Hope all goes well at the hospital for your DD today Gingster and something sorted for your DGD too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from our last day in Southwold. We are going to stop at Aldeburgh on the way home.
Yesterday we visited a lovely craft centre and had coffee then we walked around Southwold. Lots of lovely shops and cafes.
We went back into Southwold early evening and had fish and chips but not a soul around, it really showed it was February.
Hopefully the journey back will be hassle free. We need to stop for supplies before we get home.
I hope your daughter's hospital appointment goes well Gingster and that you can get your leg sorted Fanny.
Enjoy Wednesday everyone xxx

Chrissielou Wed 09-Feb-22 07:58:25

It is dry and chilly here in Oxfordshire. A busy working day for me with lots of zoom meetings. I begin to see more welcome signs of spring, daffodils in bud and many beautiful snowdrops on my walk yesterday. The days are lengthening too, I look forward to lighter evenings and warmer days. I wish you all a good day.

kittylester Wed 09-Feb-22 07:59:13

Good morning all from a dry but cloudy Aldeburgh.

A trip up the coast today with a lunch stop somewhere and a poke around an antique shop.

Have the best day possible everyone - especially Fanny.

Grandmabatty Wed 09-Feb-22 08:00:13

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° with blue skies. It's lovely to have lighter mornings and evenings on the way back.
Welcome Ali23. I hope your op goes well. Enjoy your work baubles. It sounds like you get a lot of pleasure from it. Grandmattie it hasn't been a really cold winter this year in central Scotland. Hardly any frost or snow.
Yesterday was a good day. I visited the fish man and picked up some for dd. Then I went to the retail park to buy art supplies. I spent a great deal of money but most of that was covered by gift cards I had so it didn't feel too painful. I also bought Easter cake cases and bunny, lamb and carrot cutters for making biscuits. Can't be too prepared! Easter is later this year. I dropped off the fish at dd and had a coffee and dgs1 wanted me to play with dinosaurs. The boy is obsessed with them. He knows all the different types and he's not three yet. Dgs2 was sleeping in his crib and is absolutely covered in chicken pox spots. Poor wee mite. I spent a pleasant hour in the afternoon working on a pastel drawing of snowdrops.
Today I'll visit mum then go to my art class. Then home. Dsil has to go for a procedure tomorrow and is isolating so I'll stay away from their house. Sausage, mash and beans for tea. Very plain. I'm cutting down and I find it a struggle as I'm very fond of bread and potatoes. But needs must. Have a good day all.

grandMattie Wed 09-Feb-22 08:07:57

batty, the chicken pox reminds me of the year I was 40.
In January, I got mumps, in March I got german measles,in June, chicken pox and in July we moved from Dorset to E Kent, for DH’s job! Phew.

Alygran Wed 09-Feb-22 08:09:35

Good morning from North Yorkshire. Clear blue sky so far.
Gingster your star might be Venus. Is it to the south? Hope your daughter’s appointment goes well.
Fanny fingers crossed you get sorted with an appointment too.
We have relaxation yoga at the charity parent group today, after that I will go for a walk. I have signed up for 150km in February in my virtual walking challenge. James Bond in the village hall this evening.
Have a good day everyone.

dragonfly46 Wed 09-Feb-22 08:10:49

Good morning from dull Leicestershire.

My crocuses are almost out and I can see blossom from my window!

Busy day today in prep for our trip to Brighton to the family on Friday.
Welcome Ali and hope you get seen to soon Fanny.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 09-Feb-22 08:15:43

Morning Mick and all

It’s trying to brighten up here in S E Essex.

We are off to an up market spa hotel with a Michelin star restaurant in the next hour, for an overnight stay. It was our Christmas gift from two of our AC. I have a facial and massage booked for this afternoon, cannot wait.

Gingster I shall be thinking of you and your DD, I hope they have a plan for her treatment.

FannyCornforth sorry to hear you are in pain.

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Grammaretto Wed 09-Feb-22 08:16:45

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Grey but not cold or wet.
The electrician is due any minute to progress my kitchen. I hope it is ready soon as I am missing it.
Yarn group and much later, badminton
. A friend has offered her DGD to help me with filling in forms on-line and other technical frustrations as she will find it very easy being young and I have no one else to ask scream at.

I hope you can get an X-ray soon FannyC and some relief from the pain.

Gingster good wishes for your DD.

Hello Ali23 ? where are you?

Have a nice day everyone.

Chris3 Wed 09-Feb-22 08:19:46

Good morning from sunny blue skies in South Yorkshire. Today I'm taking mother out for lunch, calling at the material shop on my way to see what wonders they may have. Wishing everyone a good day
