Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in brackley this morning , with town hall clock visible with the lighting on.
Today, very much a stay at home day , with a small local early shop .
Looking for signs of Spring as to flowers but nothing here yet.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dry and sunny NE.
Had a lazy day yesterday, all I did was change the bed linen. Caught up on some TV and did a crossword.
SIL is coming today and I will do a Sainsbury's shop, will look for some pyjamas in a smaller size as ones I am wearing are too big now.
Hope you get your leg sorted Fanny.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s wet out as we had very heavy rain during the night (according to Himself). We are off over to Oldham after lunch, picking up my stepfather en route. We are going to see my 80y old uncle by marriage. His wife, my aunt, died in December and we attended her funeral the first week in January. It will be sad to go into her living room - she suffered for years with agoraphobia and was always in there. She had a dry wit and always made me laugh. My mum was her sister, older by 10 years.

Enjoy Wednesday all who can. x

Good morning from a bright S Hants, 6deg. Welcome Ali23 to this gentle thread.
Busy day with drives yesterday, 3 hours all told, some clients are in such difficult situations.
Not much on today, but we’re going out for dinner tonight, a treat.
Thoughts with those struggling, hopefully some ☀️ or the odd ?will brighten your day.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Morning from S Lanarkshire, slept well last night which was a joy.
Exercise class plus coffee and catch up with our ageing group. We’ve been friends for so long it’s so easy being together. The downside is that our conversations are becoming increasingly medical! However the mutual support is a real comfort.

Hope you get help with your leg problem Fanny, the situation sounds really challenging.

?Gingster for a good appointment and wishing everyone a good day???

Pittcity Wed 09-Feb-22 08:41:01

Good morning from a grey but dry Colchester. Feeling mild so the thermostat has been turned down.
Wednesday morning is our ladies coffee meetup in town followed by the obligatory mooch in the shops.
We need a supermarket shop this afternoon as the cupboard is bare and maybe looking at paint colours for our remaining decorating.
Love to all ? x

Good morning from a corner of the S Welsh coast, it is a wet start here.
I hope you get an appointment soon Fanny and you have a more comfortable day today.
Best wishes for your dd's appointment Gingster.
Welcome Ali23 hope you have a better day, enjoy your walk.
Enjoy your little break GG, we had a similar present from our AC last year and finally went to the hotel in November, a real treat. This last Christmas they gave us a two night stay in Richmond on Thames, not sure when we will be able to go though.
Take care everyone.

Take care everyone.

Grandmattie goodness, you had your fill of illnesses that year! All of them much worse in adults I think.

GrannySomerset Wed 09-Feb-22 09:01:44

Have woken with a sore throat which I hope will vanish once I get going. Major plan for the day is getting filthy car cleaned and more admin - always a letter or email to write. Hope we all have as good a day as we can.

EkwaNimitee Wed 09-Feb-22 09:01:52

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle, and hello to you, Ali23, wherever you are?
The weather improved yesterday so I went out and planted my newly arrived currant bushes-it doesn't look like I'll get any pots of jelly out of them this year!-and dug a big hole for my also newly arrived crab apple tree. It might go in today and I need to dig another hole for another tree. A landscaper arrived after lunch. Hopefully he will actually remove the rest of the turf and rotovate the ground. Last autumn they were all too busy or gave me a quote then didn't proceed. I could, slowly, remove the turf myself but it's what to do with it. I've got all I want to keep and don't want an Everest sized heap of it in some corner.
I'm off into town shortly on an errand or two and might treat myself to coffee and a bun.
Have a good day all.

Good morning from a dry, mild but cloudy Black Country.

Sitting in the waiting room at Audiology for a hearing test, as not had one for 5 years. Then meeting friends for lunch later.

Had a long phone chat with my friend yesterday . She moved to Lincolnshire 4 years ago. She is having a couple of days off work in May (she is only 61!) and I am going to stay with her, so looking forward to that.

Sorry you are in pain again Fanny I hope you can be seen quickly flowers

Wishing you all a lovely day.

Su22 Wed 09-Feb-22 09:13:25

Good morning Mike and Morningsters ?????
It was grey first thing but the sun had now peeped through in my bit of mid Cornwall. Are you new to GN Su22?. I’m wondering if we’re near each other.

I finally heard from our carpenter/kitchen fitter last night. It will be a massive move forward if he can book us in soon. He’s coming on Friday for a look see. Quote will need to be recalculated!

I’ve usually done Wordle and Nerdle by now but will attempt them soon.

Hope those with worries or ailments cope with the day. ??

Newquay Wed 09-Feb-22 09:51:06

Morning from sunny Staffs-late getting up. Caught (negative) head cold from 4 year old GS-have had it for 10 days now and getting worse-moan, moan! So rang surgery yesterday and nurse practitioner prescribed antibiotics so, hopefully, will start to pick up soon.
DH has been waiting for a knee X-ray since last October-surgery told us to ring X-ray dept to chase but they don’t answer the phone!!
I recall our DDs giving me chickenpox-poor DH spent his entire summer holiday nursing us! Then they gave me German measles-not fun as an adult!
I’ll stop moaning now and wish everyone as good a day as possible

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 09-Feb-22 09:55:17

Good morning everyone from a dullish and breezy Oxfordshire. I will go back and read the posts later. I had a procedure at the hospital late yesterday afternoon and im having to keep going back and correct my posts on GN this morning as the sedation hasn’t worn off. However when I woke up this morning I had my iPad on my bed, I didn’t remember getting up to get it, let’s hope I haven’t been on an overnight shopping spree!

I will go back and read the posts when im a bit more together.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. lovely outing to NT house yesterday, cheered us up. A good walk, secondhand bookshop and tea and cake, very few people about. Today seeing long time friend for coffee. Newquay I remember having chickenpox at the same time as my brother and mum catching it. When the GP visited, as they did in those days, he found us all lined up in the same bed and roared with laughter. Oh happy days!! All to the best to everyone

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 09-Feb-22 10:04:46

Good Morning all from bright Harrogate.
Trying just now to get through to York District Audiology as I have been trying to do since Monday! A new Hearing Aid this year would be good!!!
Marydoll who is the handsome lady in the picture?
Fanny that is horrible being uncomfortable walking, hope it's sorted soon!
Just got through to the hospital and discovered I have to pay £1000 for the lost hearing aid - it's actually a relief because I thought it was £3000.
Have the best day you can, folks

Grandmajean Wed 09-Feb-22 10:10:34

Morning all ! Mild and calm here in Cheshire. Morrison's arrived early and caught us on the hop. All unpacked now.
Welcome Ali23
Snowdrops blooming in our back garden and daffodils appearing in the tubs. Must be nearly Spring.

Blossoming Wed 09-Feb-22 10:40:12

Good morning Mick and everybody. It’s sunny and dry in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 8°C.

Today’s plan is more laundry, usual physio exercises and a walk. I missed out yesterday as the rain was relentless, so I spent an hour on my exercise cycle instead.

Mr. B has been out shopping so I must go help him put it away.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

Megs36 Wed 09-Feb-22 10:51:10

Good morning all, Memory Clinic Result, after extensive questions…dementia ruled out TG. The question was why did my GP refer me?
Relieved but still stressed with other problems, husband now on oxygen butI know this is just sticking a plaster on the COPD .
Cheers to all those in pain or suffering.

Good morning from a grey but not too cold East Midlands.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 09-Feb-22 11:04:34

Good morning from a sunny, blue skied East Yorkshire.

I’m feeling a bit under the weather so am still in bed. I didn’t have a very good nights sleep but have just woken after a good hour and a half sleep. I was woken by a rather strange dream. A man called Mervin had rang my mobile to say he had been cheating on me! I don’t know anyone that name and told him so and that he’d got the wrong number. We ended up having a good old chat despite me telling him he wasn’t a good un! I then thanked him for ringing as my phone had been in charge( it really was) and was a reminder to ring my dentist which was also true. Very odd and hadn't had a drink or cheese last night.
Loving the photos Marydoll
Take care everyone.

hollysteers Wed 09-Feb-22 11:36:33

Good morning Mick and all from a formerly sunny northwest coast. I don’t know if the year of the Tiger is not for me, but lots of LITTLE things are irritating me! Went out to catch a bus to lunchtime concert and even though the only person at the bus stop and in a bright red coat and hat, the bus sailed by without stopping, had to go and get the car out. Then last night, hearing noises around 3, got up to find the cat torturing a little mouse which then ran into my bedroom. Fed up with that, I went back to bed, mouse included, Something has gone wrong with the TV ariel and no connection there.
Good news is I can now stop my hormone medication, five years fulfilled. Don’t like the side effects, but still wary as there is a prevalence of BC in the family.
Sorry you are in pain Fanny and thoughts to * Megs36*

Nannytopsy Wed 09-Feb-22 11:41:35

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Yesterday was a frustrating day. We booked a short trip to France but Marydoll would have recognised the problems.
Lots of swearing at the computer etc. We booked Eurotunnel train, two airBnbs, ferry and premier inn to go to France then Poole in May. Do you have an account? We don’t recognise your password, reset it, we cannot verify your identity, your booking cannot be verified, send us a photo of your driving licence. Both sides. Cannot read the photo. Do it again. Send a photo of yourself. It doesn’t match your driving licence. It was
1 am before they decided I wasn’t a teenager looking to wreck a tiny apartment in a very quiet French village and let the booking go ahead.
At one point I did explain that ageing is what happens to faces, hair changes colour and both parents and all four grandparents were sadly no longer with us, so could not vouch for me.
I hope the day is kind to everyone. Sausage rolls to make for WI
