Hi Everyone.
I have just discovered Gransnet so thought I would introduce myself and hopefully some of you would like to introduce yourselves to me.
I am 57 years old and have 3 grandkids whom I love dearly.
I live in central Scotland with my hubby, our fish, Einstein our parrot and 2 lovely dogs Sula (a chow chow puppy) and my 8 year old border terrier Gabe.
I don’t get out much at all and I am very shy so don’t have many friends although the few I have, have been in my life for over 20 years. But I’d love to make new ones.
Even just to chat on here would be lovely
Thanks for reading xxx

Welcome Toby. You will be pleased to hear that from time to time there are meet ups of GN people. Quite a lot of people from various parts of Scotland too. Hope you enjoy contributing and making new friends both virtually and real life. flowers

Welcome Toby. I'm in Midlothian. Live with husband. Have 3 children and 3 grandchildren 8,5 and 3. I'm a retired nurse and 65 - hoping to get pension in July. Always lots of interesting topics on Gransnet.

Aveline Fri 11-Feb-22 18:20:19

Hello Toby I'm one of the East Scotland Grans. Keep an eye out for one of our meet ups
Nothing planned right now but I see the Glasgow grans have one planned soon. Why not dive in and join them?

Hello and welcome from across the pond. I'm just turned 60, still working, mum of 3 and granny to 4. One little Aussie sheppherd, but often have kid's pets around! Husband just texted that he has 3 dogs following him around today, watching every move...

Lots of good chat and support here.

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 11-Feb-22 20:01:37

Welcome, Toby. I hope that you enjoy the GN life.

Hi Toby good to hear from you, lots of animal lovers on GN.
A word of warning don't put too many personal details on here as your information can appear on other sites.

Feelingmyage55 Fri 11-Feb-22 20:17:21

You are very welcome Toby. I love your list of who is special and your husband comes first. Are your fish tropical? I find fish so calming but don’t have any just now for logistical reasons.
I hope you find the Good Morning thread which Michael opens every day around six am. The other thread to join is “Soop’s Kitchen”. Let us know if you don’t spot them. Go into “Forums”. And they will be in “Chat”. You will be made very welcome. Especially if you bring virtual cake or savouries into the virtual kitchen.

I like your name, Toby. Welcome to GN and I hope you will love it as much as I do. I am in south Devon but my sister lives in Ayrshire and I used to visit regularly until Covid arrived.
Scotland is gorgeous.

annodomini Sat 12-Feb-22 11:06:06

Welcome Toby from a veteran. A native of Ayrshire, I'm a long-time exile south of the Border. This afternoon, as ever, I'll be shouting my head off for Scotland in the 6 nations. In the good old days, I spent many an afternoon at Murrayfield!

FannyCornforth Sat 12-Feb-22 11:08:41

Joanna I have reported your post because you have given your name, whereabouts and full dob.
It isn’t safe to put this on the internet.

I’m dubious about this thread.
Op ‘wants friends’ but hasn’t posted one single reply hmm

crazyH Sat 12-Feb-22 11:11:59

FC - I’m dubious too

Marydoll Sat 12-Feb-22 11:12:22

I thought the same thing Fanny too much identifiable info.
You don't have to be a member to read GN, so anyone can read what you post.

Trixii Sat 12-Feb-22 11:26:07

Hello Toby. Well done for introducing yourself so well. I'm 70 and from the English Midlands. Lots of friends and good ideas on here. Welcome.

Toby1932 Sat 12-Feb-22 11:46:39

Hi everyone.
Thank
You for all your nice posts.
As for the couple who was dubious about me cos I hadn’t replied, I’m a real person. Lol
I don’t always get the time to reply right away as I look after one of my grandkids while mum works and when she goes home I’m knackered ?
Plus all the pets I have and my hubby that I love to spend lots of time with.
I’m also going through a very hard time with one of my daughters so sometimes my nerves and anxiety kick in, so I apologise if I don’t get to reply to everyone right away
Thanks anyway xxx

nanna8 Sat 12-Feb-22 11:53:03

Welcome Toby and I am sure you will find some interesting topics (and people) here.

Toby1932 Sat 12-Feb-22 11:55:36

I’m such a klutz!!!
Just reread the post thinking it was dubious etc I’ve now realised it wasn’t about me ????
So sorry xxxxx
