A local shop called Zuill and Stewart. It was really big and sold classy clothes. It hasn't been around for a long time now but I miss it. And Woolworths.

I lived in Heanor and 20 mins on the bus to Derby.

I’ve tried buying their jeans online, PinkCosmos but don’t have any luck with getting the colour I want in the sizes available. ?

Loved Borders, spent many a happy hour browsing there, taking books to coffee shop to look through and yes, buying at least one in the shop! Truly missed.

Oooh, silly me. I’ve just googled and there’s a Bon Marche not far from where I’m now living.

I thought it was Nationwide when my old local one closed down.

Ex Derby girl here too. I remember Ranbys. Oh Fanny yes Huckleberry Willow I loved that shop and bought several bits from there.

I miss quite a few, Debenhams, British home stores, Dotty P as we used to call it, Woolworths. Such a shame they have disappeared. High rental costs and internet shopping have seen to their demise. Thank goodness we still have an Marks and Spencer for good well made clothing , underwear, household goods, plus the food store.

Most of all Henry's in Birmingham. I would get paid on a Friday, nip in to Henry's, get a lovely, trendy skirt or top for 50p. Bliss.
I can also remember queueing up at the bacon counter in Littlewoods in my lunch hour
