Good morning from a clear, calm E Kent. The full moon is looking lovely in the western sky through her veil of cloud.
I hope that all those affected by Dudley haven’t suffered too much. These storms are very scary; I have lived through many a cyclone in my youth.
Contacts were exchanged yesterday, completion on 25th. Feeling sad but glad not to have that hours’ journey for a 5 minute visit.
We met the purchasers, a charming young family with three children, who were so excited about the new house. Made it much easier.
?and hugs for grannySomerset for tomorrow. My heart goes to the family, prayers too.
The bag has been well received and used immediately by the poster who asked for it. Any further takers?
Quiet day today. DH is having a CT scan to see why he is having all this gut pain. Hope the results come soon.
Have a good day everyone,Carpe diem. ???❤️???

Ashcombe Thu 17-Feb-22 06:14:14

Good morning, Mick and those who follow from a dry and breezy Torbay, much like yesterday.

Another super bag, grandMattie! I’m glad yesterday went as well as it did and it’s lovely that you’ve met the new owners of the house. It does help to feel it’s in good hands.

I’ve a few errands to run, including collecting milk I left behind at the Theatre yesterday! ? This afternoon , it’s my fortnightly Jboom class, where Bollywood meets Pilates.

Hope everyone is as well as possible and has a good day. ?????

Gagagran Thu 17-Feb-22 06:41:21

Good Morning everyone from a calm (so far) 9.0c south coast. We are promised gales overnight and tomorrow.

Had a set back with vertigo again, yesterday, so didn't post Feels a bit easier this morning after a good night's sleep so am hoping for further improvement.

Another lovely bag, Mattie. The one you made for me has been much admired and I am so grateful. Good news re completion on the house and, as Ash says, lovely to be able to imagine a nice family living there. Fingers crossed for good news from your DH's CT scan.

Plan another quiet day here to try and beat the vertigo without need of bothering the GP. Have to do the click and collect order but nothing else presssing.

Have the best day you can everybody. sunshine

Beechnut Thu 17-Feb-22 06:42:38

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Dry and the clouds are still, not like yesterday afternoon when they were whizzing by.

A lovely bag Mattie. It looks very cheerful. Glad every thing went well yesterday about the house.

A head and foot day for me first having my feet done then a haircut. Also collect my prescription and I might do my weekly shop as a storm is forecast for tomorrow.

Have a good day all ??

Jaxjacky Thu 17-Feb-22 06:58:47

Good morning all from a dark, still S Hants with a very bright moon in my view.
A mixed day for you gMattie good to meet the new people.
Hope your vertigo subsides quickly Gaga it’s horrible and quite debilitating.
Off to the farm shop early today where I’ll pick up some tea lights just in case for tomorrow. I’m collecting the GC’s after school and they’re staying for dinner as DD has to work late, they’ll all be ready for half term next week.
Hope no one has damage from Dudley.
Enjoy your day ??.

kittylester Thu 17-Feb-22 07:08:27

Good morning all from a brightish North Leicestershire.

Our main piece of news is that DH and I have been pinged. Apparently we were in contact on 9th February - 8 days ago - thought the system was meant to be fairly instant. LFTs after a cup of tea.

The theory is that we are taking Bertie shopping for his birthday today - LFTs allowing.

Enjoy your days everyone!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 17-Feb-22 07:11:12

Morning Mick and all

The wind was howling all through the night, it finally has calmed.

Off to Lakeside shopping centre today with DD and the boys. Feet need measuring (these boys are growing like weeds) and the 7yr old has birthday money et burning a hole in his pocket.

Beautiful bag grandMattie , it’s good that you have finally completed on DSs home, it has been a troubling time for you.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

ShazzaKanazza Thu 17-Feb-22 07:12:36

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very windy Hull. The gales from the storm have quietened somewhat but wow was it wild overnight!
grand matte I love the bag and would really love one. Hope your DHs CT scan goes ok it’s such a worry.
Yesterday got a call from my uncles assisted living to say he tested positive for covid. Mum and I were with him the day before so I’m so scared for the both of them being 76 and 79 and with underlying health issues. Both triple vaxxed so hoping for omricon. I’m not worried for myself as I’ve had covid before. I dashed over to mums with a box of tests. Bless her she’s never been tested in the whole of the pandemic.
To make things worse I’m keeping my distance from DH as he’s on the two week cancer pathway and has to have an endoscopy Tuesday which we need to go ahead. Good job the house is big enough to keep our distance. He’s downstairs in the spare room. So each day is crucial for us all but I’m so scared for my mum and uncle.
Hoping mum and I have got away with it.
Anyway take care in what’s left of storm Dudley. Have a good day.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 17-Feb-22 07:26:44

Good morning all from wet Harrogate.
Yesterday finally with a bit of help, got the printer working. I phoned Canon but they were going to call me back in 3-5 days. So I phoned’Know How’ and they knew how !!
Today is Sainsburies delivery day, have ordered groceries for DD1 who now has covid. We will deliver them this morning.
What a relief for you GrandMattie and to meet the family is a bonus.
I hope you are soon free of vertigo Gagagran it is most unpleasant, be careful if you are driving.
Welcome to yesterday’s newbies, sorry about those who have left
Have the best day you can folks.

Chris3 Thu 17-Feb-22 07:27:48

Good morning. An early posting from me today. No idea what the weather is like as I'm still in bed ha ha but it sounds less windy. Today car is going for its MOT and then I am helping DDiL1 to clear out her garage! Hoping there are no spiders in there!
Glad things are progressing grandmattie and fabulous bag ?
What a worry for you ShazzaKanazza fingers crossed the vaccines do their job for you all.
Have a good day everyone x

brook2704 Thu 17-Feb-22 07:29:15

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve got sleet mixed with snow and it’s cold at just 2º
I’m the very lucky recipient of GM latest bag! It arrived yesterday, its absolutely perfect and just what I wanted to use for carrying my dance trainers to and from classes. Thanks again GM you’re such a special lady
That Jboom class sounds interesting Ash - enjoy!
Today I’m meeting up with a friend for coffee and doing a Tesco shop
A difficult time Shazza hoping things go ok for you and all the family
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

BlueSapphire Thu 17-Feb-22 07:31:50

Good morning everyone from a clear and dry Northampton. Just put the bins out again after putting them out yesterday, then moving them out of the wind as one bad blown into the road.

The cat seems to know - as soon as I sit down with my tablet she is onto my knee like a
shot, making it difficult to write this!

Some washing to do today, clean out the cats' litter tray, unpack the Sainsbury's delivery, and run the hoover around downstairs. Then have lunch. Off to ballet this afternoon, but am thinking of popping to Sainsbury's afterwards instead of tomorrow, to avoid the high winds forecast.

Finally sorted my travel insurance yesterday, making sure that all medical conditions were listed and covered. I now have both written and verbal confirmation, so can now look forward to my cruise in August!

Ordered a new handbag online at the weekend; postman delivered yesterday, not one, but two identical orders. Have checked my credit card bill, and have only been billed for one, so it's not me ordering two in error. Must ring the company and see what they want me to do.

So glad the house is sorted, grandMattie, and hope your DH's scan goes ok.

Wishing all a good day.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 17-Feb-22 07:34:19

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s a dry, bright morning and the calm after the storm. I had my candles at the ready yesterday after reports of power cuts in some areas nearby.

I had a browse at a local retail park yesterday. I picked up a few foodie bargains at M&S from the Valentine dine in range. One being a charcuterie board with next Sundays date on for £5. We will have a tapas tea over the weekend. After a couple of days not feeling too good I underestimated myself and felt very tired on my return. I didn’t feel like cooking a Spag Bol so we had a bung it in the oven tea and the mince I got out to cook will be turned into a hot pot today. I will have an easier day today. I also need to collect my prescription.

Sorry to hear about your mum and uncle Shazz also fingers crossed for your DH too.
Fingers crossed for your tests too KittyLester

Take care everyone .

cornergran Thu 17-Feb-22 07:43:07

Morning Mick. Morning All. Our corner of Somerset has clear skies and what I would call normal wind after horrific gusts yesterday and a noisy night.

Wandered out for a couple of hours yesterday, superb rainbow over the beach. Didn’t leave the car, far too windy. Another phone call to the support centre for our new tv, each day we find something that defeats us. Really patient, helpful call handlers who assure me it’s what they are there for.

Off with our elder son to see our friend over the bridge. Our son has insisted on driving which is kind. We’ll have lunch together in a comfortable cafe by a lake, good to catch up.

That’s a very pretty bag grandMattie, it sounds as if yesterday was less difficult than you feared. Please look after yourself. Thoughts are with everyone dealing with illness, heartache or stress

Hope Thursday is gentle with us all.

Pittcity Thu 17-Feb-22 07:47:45

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Colder than yesterday but the wind has dropped for now.
DH is in and out today, so I'll get the housework done and walk over to Aldi. I'll make sure we have enough in not to have to venture out in Eunice tomorrow.
I'll also take down the whirly washing line and put bricks on the BBQ cover. I think everything else is secure, we'll see.
Love to all ? x

Grandmajean Thu 17-Feb-22 07:47:55

Good morning from Cheshire.
Wild out there
Lovely bag GrandMattie You are very talented and very busy too.

Grandmabatty Thu 17-Feb-22 07:50:08

Good morning all from Polmont. Dry at the moment and 4°. I didn't hear any wind in the night so hopefully that is Dudley gone before Eunice arrives tomorrow.
Grandmattie it'll be a relief for you now everything is sorted. Ashcombe I also like the sound of your dance class! Gagagran sorry to hear that you are still suffering from vertigo. Brooke and grandmattie the bag is lovely. Colourful and cheerful.
Yesterday I had my hair cut. My hairdresser is such a lovely man with a wicked sense of humour. He and his wife are very kind. Every time I go, he gives me a bottle of something to try on my paltry locks. Mum cancelled so I had time before picking up dgs1 from playgroup to have a cuppa. The day disappeared before I knew it.
Today I'm out early again for an optician's appointment. Then I'll have to buy birthday cards. I might go to the bookshop too. Afterwards I'll potter about the house. Have a good day all.

GrannySomerset Thu 17-Feb-22 07:50:16

Busy morning - church flowers for tomorrow ( daffodils) and making large lasagne for tonight. We need to set up the hall for tea after the service and can’t do it till after 8.00 pm so a somewhat disrupted evening but can’t be doing that in the morning.

Quite a wild night but sunny and less windy now. Hope the forecast for tomorrow is a bit less severe or there will be more people watching the live-stream than in the church.

How lovely for grandMattie to meet the new family taking over her son’s house, must feel a positive end to a long and difficult road..

love0c Thu 17-Feb-22 07:51:58

Morning everyone! Got up to rain and very windy but now the sun is coming out but still mega windy!!! Hoping to get a walk in this morning. Enjoy your day but take care smile

baubles Thu 17-Feb-22 08:00:11

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s another damp and breezy start to the day.

Another beautiful tote Mattie, you are so talented. Good wishes for your DH’s scan, hopefully he won’t have too long to wait for the result.

Take it easy today Grandmadinosaur and Gaga, I hope you feel better today.

Enjoy the ballet Blue.

Fingers crossed for you Kitty

I hope everything goes well for your family Shazza.

Childminding day today, I hope it’s less windy so we can have our usual walk along the seafront.

Wishing everyone good day. ??

Alygran Thu 17-Feb-22 08:00:46

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s dry but windy still. I was supposed to be going to London tomorrow but has a message not to travel from LNER. They suggest I go today but I have several things on so that isn’t possible.
Lovely bag GM and good to hear you have the date for the house. Fingers crossed for the scan. Hope your DH is soon on the road to recovery.
Shazza and Kitty stay negative!
Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Thu 17-Feb-22 08:01:14

Good morning all from a very sunny Suffolk coast. Last nights gales have died down (a bit). Another garden gate needs attention. Not looking forward to the visit from Eunice!

We walked over our nearby common yesterday morning and saw two muntjacs close by and then a whole herd of deer . Not another human in sight. Lovely to see as they are normally so elusive.

Today we might go to Dunwich Heath and on to the fish and chip place on the beach, - ive got a feeling it doesn’t open until March, so we might be unlucky! We must make the most of today’s weather as I don’t think we’ll be venturing out tomorrow!

Went to see ‘Belfast’ yesterday. Our little cinema was packed . Very unusual! Brilliant film and fantastic acting.

I hope your DH’s scan goes ok GM . Another lovely bag.

Shazza - hope your family stay well.

GG - enjoy Lakeside! ??.

Sar I hope yourDh got back ok with his boat! Tide and weather permitting. ?.

Hoping you all have a good day! ?

Urmstongran Thu 17-Feb-22 08:08:42

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where I bright and mild. Quiet too after those high winds last night. The calm before tomorrow’s storm it seems. We have the grandchildren all day today while mummy gets a few hours prep for next week done on her laptop. We’ve booked them in for an hour at ‘Clip and Climb’ and will take them out somewhere for lunch to pass some units of time!

Enjoy Thursday (already?) those who can. I’ll settle back to read some posts before I need to get ready now.

Urmstongran Thu 17-Feb-22 08:24:25

Hope your mum and uncle are not poorly with Covid ShazzaKanazza (love the name!). We have 2 neighbours, both in their 70’s who Himself has been shopping for and getting their newspapers this past fortnight because they have it. Both are absolutely fine apart from one has a cold and t’other a cough! He had cancer treatment 3 years ago so it was a concern at first for his wife but quite honestly, they are fine. I hope this tale brings you some reassurance.
