Is anyone else a little bit anxious about the storm tomorrow?

If the storm keeps to the predicted path, it shouldn't be too bad in my part of South Northumberland. DH goes out to his early morning job at 4am and it is the expected snow that will be problematic.
Our summer house took a battering during storm Arwen so DH has secured it as well as he is able. We are keeping our fingers crossed that it won't be too bad.

I’m in bed now but am wondering if I should have taken precautions earlier. How have people secured their bins? I can’t think of how I could have done that but they are tucked away down the side passage. No where to move my car away from the house but my roof is new so fingers crossed. I think my double sofa in the garden is heavy enough not to blow away, not much else outside!

My fences are rather rickety so they might blow down but they need replacing anyway!

I was living in Berkshire during the 1987 hurricane and the thing I remember the most is the noise! It was howling around the house, making the strangest booming sounds and throwing heavy objects against the windows. London Rd between Wokingham and Bracknell was impassable because of fallen trees by the morning and there were roof tiles everywhere. My neighbour had left her washing out, that disappeared for ever!

I’m in the red zone near the coast , all schools are closed tomorrow also trains /buses not running , bin collections cancelled . In bed now but sounds busy on motorway also weather seems quite . Hope all be well and all be safe .

I’m up unable to sleep, I’ve just let the cat out, and it’s not really windy yet,

My building is 2 years old with a tower block of flats each side. We are in a dip so gets very windy here even on an ordinary weather day. I cancelled my hair appointment for today half an hour on a bus and a walk through the park to get to the bus stop. Thought better of it. I hope everyone has a decent night and everything is ok later on. I can see l'm not the only one who can't sleep. It's raining here in Sherwood Nottingham.

Amber zone here. The house across the back from me is having the roof replaced. The tiles are piled up on the flat roof of the extension and the roofers have put on the roofing felt today. That should be interesting!

Yes springychicken, I noticed that with the bbc weather, also in our area bbc weather said 75 mph at its peak and the met office said 68 ,…7mph difference is a lot

I am wakeful too,made a very large cup of tea and back in bed, I am very tense and can hear some gusts starting. I think another 2-3 hours and it will be full on. red warning issued for SE

omg it is really starting to build, think I will get dressed soon in warm cosy stuff. Heart is in my mouth now

They have included more areas in the red zone according to sky. London and the SE and the east of England.

We are still in an amber zone. I do worry for anyone having to go out tonight and tomorrow. I know two of my loved ones will be out in the thick of it trying to keep the power on. That is the biggest worry for all of us. If there are multiple cables down the power will probably go off for some time. The last time that happened our water was of too so I will be filling the kettle and larger saucepans just in case.

No one can stop tiles coming off or fence panels coming down. Most of us can only stay in and hope for the best. I've just put my head out of the door and it's raining and a bit breezy out in the English East Midlands.

I have refilled my big flask and had a very early light breakfast, hours ago. Cooked breakfast made and eaten and now sipping chamomile tea. I have been busy sorting stuff and at last found my charging pack so can re-charge my phone

Our prediction (red zone) has shifted time-wise. Very calm at 6am, picking up now. Huge trees at the back along the riverbank would we hope fall away from us due to wind direction. We can be no more prepared than we are. Our bungalow is in a sheltered spot, can only sit it out and hope we keep power. Very frustrated though as it means we’ll miss a family celebration meal planned for today. It involved s trip along two motorways, just not sensible. Stay safe everyone.

I'm in Amber, have one brother in Yellow and one in Red.

My flat faces the sea. I can't see it because of a (n amazing) garden, a hedge and a Grade Two Listed wall but it's far, far windier in that direction than when I go out the main, street-side door.

My main concern is the two dogs. Before I moved (a month ago yesterday, yay me!) I could chuck them out the back for their Necessaries but now I have communal grounds, I don't do that, we have to go for a walk. The next walk is due at 68mph. Dog-kites, I fancy.....

Sorry that was just a comment, was reading yours when I posted. Then again I lived in a Victorian house during that terrible storm in the late 80s, and no damage, not even a roof tile off.

Very calm here in Northumberland so far. No wind or snow just a dull day. Bit a bit of an anti-climax after the reports really but not complaining at all ......it’s early yet!!
