Great to hear from you soop may your recovery continue apace!

Many congratulations Topsy.

Glad that you are improving Maddyone, and I’m sorry you’ve been ill again this year. I have no choice but to rest at the moment, I suspect the hardwork will start when I have to start working at fitness again. I have a private nurse coming in to see me tomorrow, it has to be private and DH is worried about cost but it can’t be that much and I think she’ll give both of us good advice to get fit as soon as possible.
One thing I’m sure she’ll be able to help with - totally unconnected but I have Glaucoma and haven’t been able to put drops in my eyes since Friday. I’m seeing strange splodges over everything I write.

Granmarie I hope your husband is soon diagnosed and treated as needed. Please make sure you look after yourself too x

Dustyangel after my widowed father had his Glaucoma operation he too was unable to cope with eye drops and I found something very similar to this at our local Disability Aids shop (since closed)
It was really helpful for him and I took it with us when I went with him to his post-op checkup to show the Consultant - a rather brusque and overbearing man . He was impressed “Bloody good idea!” he barked and summoned his nurse in to see it. She said quietly “I told you about these six months ago”

I had missed your dh trip to hospital Grannmarie. I hope they get to the bottom of what's ailing him. DustyAngel that sounds really painful. I hope the nurse can help you.
Dgs1 had a lovely day yesterday. Soft play where he had the entire place to himself for an hour, then ice cream (a big favourite and treat) then bowling for the first time. Then home for a chippy tea where I and his other gran joined them. Thank you and Tillytrotter for your good wishes.

Dogsmakemesmile Wed 23-Feb-22 08:57:09

DustyAngel I am sorry things so tough at the moment and send my best wishes. Sometimes you have to take emergency measures eg private nurse to get to the other side. I hope he/she provides support and hope.
Have made dough, leek and potato soup. Ddog and I having a retro disco dance to celebrate his recovery and my being able to dance again (badly). Woke up and felt full of energy and hope which has been rather absent in last few weeks. Have been drained waiting for coroner's report regarding death of my father in December. No news yet but I seem to have passed the worst of my anguish. Feel I can cope with again.Apologies if this post drains people. So many have worries and griefs on this thread. Also joys that have pulled me through the day. Love to all. Especially soop x

? for all in this caring kitchen who are suffering right now.
I hope soop has had a restful night.
Thank goodness the howling winds have dropped and it is a sunny day. Gives us all hope ☀️
Our own BladeAnnie has asked me to pass on her fond wishes to all kitchen peeps. She is on a tiny holiday and has been without wi-fi or she would be here to wish everyone a good week.
(I think she may be celebrating the 4 goals her mighty Blades scored at the weekend) ? ⚽️ ?

A day without any real plan for me. May take a brush outside and sweep the doorstep area and wipe dust from the front door. Then make a tuna pasta bake for tea.
Wishing everyone the best day they can have.

Darling peoples, Mr Soop has taken the car to be mot'd. I am about to make a brew and return to my boudoir. Tum is doing fancy tricks right now. Extremely noisy. Grumbling like hell. Hey ho. All good signs.

I was impressed with the beautiful birthday cake. Some super photos.

I am sending healing vibes to all our dear Kitcheners who are poorly and dispirited.

Also a warm welcome to several new residents in our cosy, caring kitchen.

Back to bed for a wee rest-up. I shall pop in again later. smile

Alygran Wed 23-Feb-22 10:34:39

soop so pleased to hear that you are at home. Keep resting and hope your recovery keeps going well xx

Aldom Wed 23-Feb-22 10:50:23

It is truly heartwarming to picture you in your own home again Soop. Keep on getting better.
I have no motivation at present. I think it's because we're in limbo waiting for news of change in the condition of my friend. She remains unconscious on life support. Almost two weeks now.
Thinking of all who are not well, worried or sad. flowers

Dogsmakemesmile Wed 23-Feb-22 11:28:16

Thinking of you Aldom

muse Wed 23-Feb-22 11:29:47

Good Morning soop. Enjoy those wee rests.

Beautiful photos in the kitchen. Love the cake.

To all with worries, concerns and sadness, here's a massive hug ?.

maddyone Wed 23-Feb-22 11:32:52

Aldom such a difficult time for you. Friends are not family, but for close friends such as your friend Aldom, they feel exactly like family, like sisters in fact. I have two friends who I’m closer to than my sister, and I know how I would feel if one of them was in your friend’s situation. Keep your chin up Aldom flowers

TillyTrotter Wed 23-Feb-22 12:04:39

Thinking of your pain Aldom, the agonising wait,
and the awful predicament your friend is in ? ? ?

lavendermine Wed 23-Feb-22 12:15:09

Lovely to see you Soop. Rest, rest, and more rest x

Blossoming Wed 23-Feb-22 12:39:54

Thinking of you Aldom and Dogs flowers

Dogsmakemesmile Wed 23-Feb-22 14:36:13

I am doing fine Blossoming. Thank you for your kindness.
Drinking tea and perusing Right Move at the moment! Very windy and lashing rain outside. TOYA

Grandmabatty Wed 23-Feb-22 14:59:28

I'm thinking of you all, particularly Dogsmakemesmile and Aldom. I'm just in from art class where I've been playing with pastels. The weather is vile so I'm going to have a cuppa and a biscuit. Lovely to hear from you Soop.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 23-Feb-22 15:21:16

I am currently hiding behind my sofa…

I have just opened the front door saying rather loudly do you know what a flipping key is, if not find out then use the b****dy thing only to find the Amazon delivery man with a parcel, not my daughter ???

brook2704 Wed 23-Feb-22 15:31:40

Thinking of you Aldom at such a sad time for both you and your dear friend, my heart goes out to you and to her family, so sad ?

Good to hear you’re feeling much better maddy, also dusty I hope the visit from the nurse tomorrow helps a bit and you get your eye drops in to help your vision. Seeing splodges can’t be easy

Dogs enjoy your dancing and your new energy levels - sounds good!

Such a cold and wet day here in Inverness, the heavy rain hasn’t stopped the entire day and it’s sleety snow now. I’ve been out most of the day though as we’ve workmen in fitting a new utility room so the back door had been open, the power on and off and the wind rattling through the house. Hopefully they’ll be going about 5ish and we can get warmed up

Thanks for the update on BA Tilly and I hope the holiday is going well

Isn’t it lovely to see so many people in the kitchen, such a friendly place to hang out and chat with friends

Special wishes for soop sounds like you’re doing ever so well!

Hello Grans, Mr Soop here, I've been deputised to say hello to you, and to tell you that Soop is behaving herself, and following all the advice and instructions from Mr McC and myself. She is taking it easy and allowing matters to take their time and progress naturally. As you can probably guess, that is a big relief for me. So, we are getting along fine and will gradually return to normality, or as near as we can make it in these unusual times. The message from both of us is 'thanks in abundance and sleep well'. XXX
