Baggs, that's so good to hear that Soop is more comfortable.

Nannyfaraway Wed 02-Mar-22 19:19:21

I wrote a long post earlier and thought I'd posted it. But it seems not.
Never mind. Thanks Baggs for the updates.
I'm glad Soop has been resting and also is a bit more comfortable now.
The 17th will be challenging for both the Soops but hopefully things will get sorted.
Take Soop and Mr Soop

Blossoming Wed 02-Mar-22 20:02:12

Best wishes to the soops, hope things continue to improve.

Jaxjacky Wed 02-Mar-22 20:11:35

A bit better news Baggs thank you.
We’ve been out for Turkish meze, it was lovely, but, the restaurant was cold and the chairs not the most comfortable.
Home now watching football, my team are, for now, 1 up.
Have a pleasant evening all x

mrshat Wed 02-Mar-22 20:30:04

Thank you Baggs for latest news of the soops. Good news that soop herself is more comfortable now. Delighted to hear she has learnt the art of 'resting' at last!
Take good care all. flowers

Sorry, a belated happy birthday to Jaxjacky ?and happy anniversary to the Corners . ?
Pleased to hear Soop is a little more comfortable now Baggs . I do hope they can sort it out soon as pain and discomfort are a hindrance to regaining strength.
Thinking of everyone .

So pleased your op was a success Soop and glad you're home. I'm sure you'll become stronger but be very kind to yourself. I just wanted to give some reassurance that often with stoma bags the 'right' ones can make a huge difference. My 87 Yr old aunt has had a stoma for 20 yrs. She has been comfortable for most of those apart from a Yr ago when they were changed for some odd reason(pandemic, supply issue). Once she got right ones again she was fine. Early days after what you've been through Soop. Much love. God Bless. X

brook2704 Wed 02-Mar-22 21:57:08

Aldom Wed 02-Mar-22 22:04:08

Just came into the kitchen to say goodnight to Soop and everyone. So glad the stoma nurses have made Soop a little more comfortable.
Sleep well. flowers

Nannytopsy Wed 02-Mar-22 22:27:49

Just adding my best wishes too soop.
Very neighbourly Urms!

cornergran Wed 02-Mar-22 22:41:57

Thank you baggs, that sounds more hopeful for our soop

Irritants galore in corner land today. Moremud than is reasonable came inside on two pairs of shoes which needed much cleaning to sort them out. The washing machine refused to spin. Unblocking the filter the kitchen floor had a wash. We now have three very wet and dirty towels to sort and the original contents of the machine to re-wash tomorrow. Just one of those days when life throws custard pies and we don’t duck fast enough.

Many thanks for the anniversary good wishes, we did enjoy yesterday

That’s an excellent neighbour you have urms. Envious of the sunshine? Me????? Of course grin.

Sleep well everyone, especially Mr and Mrs soop.

Charleygirl5 Wed 02-Mar-22 22:57:07

I am a bit late corner to wish you and Mr C a happy anniversary. 53 years -unbelievable and still living under the same roof! You had a pleasant day yesterday.

I do hope a change of bag and possibly adhesive also has helped- it is small things that can make all of the difference.

I visited a Macular friend yesterday and I have not been there for over 2 years as she was shielding etc. It was like walking into a sauna so when I visit next week I must ask if I can tweak the heating down. It is all very well being able to afford to pay the bills but I do not believe in throwing money away.

Good morning everyone.
I’m sending good, healing vibes to soop.
I’m feeling sorry for myself I’m afraid, the dratted kidney infection is back and I’m back in bed.

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Mar-22 12:07:10

maddyone that's rotten luck. Lots of fluids and rest says Doctor Batty. I'm having an unexpected quiet day as my friend who was coming for coffee has cancelled. I will potter around the house and maybe do some knitting or sewing. I hope Soop is better.

TillyTrotter Thu 03-Mar-22 14:20:42

I’m pottering today too, but have made Lasagnes - one for us, one for DD and a calorie -free one I have leaving in this Kitchen.
I hope soop is managing to keep her strength up, and her spirits. Love to her and Mr soop.
maddyone please rest and get rid of that kidney infection for good!
Thinking of everyone today - especially Urmston and her sunshine ☀️ ? There is a distinct lack of it here.

TillyTrotter Thu 03-Mar-22 14:22:59

Note to Charley I cooked Lasagnes in the small oven at the same time so as to conserve electricity - goodness, it will cost more per unit than 18 carat gold soon!

soop Thu 03-Mar-22 16:02:15

I MISS you lovely lot. Thank you, Baggs, for stepping in on my behalf.

The nurses are visiting daily and taking photos of the ulcerated area surrounding the stoma to share with the hospital. A stich may have come loose. Gastric fluid leaking on to skin and it bloody well stings.

Mr Soop gave me permission to pop in briefly. He is in sole charge, for which I cannot thank him enough.
When I feel better, I shall spoil him. grin

Baggs has given me the amazing temari that she has spent hours creating. A pic enclosed.

I am ordered to return to my chair, feet up and all that jazz.

ALL of you matter. This buggeration will pass. We shall celebrate in time. Group hugs aplenty.

‘Evening All’

(Well it’s 5pm here).
How lovely to hear from you direct soop. Sorry you’re having a tough time with your skin being so sore. It does sound exquisitely painful. I hope the stoma nurses can get you sorted very soon. I just know you’ll be the darling patient, grateful and sweet natured through it all.

And poor you maddyone feeling miserable with a UTI is so debilitating isn’t it? I had one a couple of years back and just felt so low teary and out of sorts. I hope you feel better very soon.

Goodness, we have a fierce wind building up here this last hour. Black clouds too over the mountains at the back of us. Can’t believe we were sunbathing on our balcony at lunchtime, needing sun cream too! I’ve folded all the balcony windows tightly shut and will make a pan of pasta & sauce from a jar with a vacuum pack of smokey francs. Effort? Me?
Ha!

Marmite32 Thu 03-Mar-22 17:25:24

I'm following the saga of your operation soop and now realise it's the same procedure as my dear best friend in France had.
We're still in regular touch.
The best part, she said was "No more constipation" as that end is now closed.

Blossoming Thu 03-Mar-22 17:54:45

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. Mr. B has been at the dentist for the second part of his root canal procedure. He’s home now after 2.5 hours, face frozen but no pain. We shall see once the anaesthetic wears off.

Sorry the dratted kidney infection is back Maddyone I hope the antibiotics work quickly and get rid of it properly this time.

Lovely to hear from soop, hope the stoma problem is soon sorted.
