Thanks for the update Baggs. Good to hear. Art class was good today. My tutor mounted and framed my snowdrops painting and it looks good! I practised using the pastels to draw lemons and orange peppers and was happy with the result. Once home I got a call from my son in law asking me to watch dgs1 as the baby wasn't well and they were taking him to the doctor. It seems he has a bad ear infection and possibly a ruptured eardrum. Poor wee soul. I'm back home and waiting for my Cantonese sweet and sour chicken to arrive. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Good to hear Baggs

Baggs Wed 02-Mar-22 18:31:20

There is some better news from soop. Earlier today two stoma nurses came and redressed the ulcerated wound so soop was more comfortable than she had been.

Bit by bit we'll get our soop back ?

Thanks so much for the update Baggs and here’s hoping soops visit on the 17th brings some good progress
Another lovely sunny day here but still cold so I needed my hat and gloves. It was lovely seeing the sunshine though and seeing things starting to grow.
I enjoyed a good catch up with my friend this afternoon and then popped to Tesco for some salmon for later. We’re off to visit DD1 in Cambridge tomorrow and I still need to get our packing finished so I’d best get a move on!
Just watching the news - it’s so heartbreaking to see those mums and children, I can’t get my head around it at all ??

‘Evening All’
(We are an hour ahead in Spain so not as early as it seems - my post will show 18.00hrs but it’s actually tapped out at 19.00hrs!)

We’ve had the most glorious sunny day today with 21°C temperatures this afternoon. We’ve enjoyed a boozy afternoon at a table in the sunshine, people watching then a meal here on the marina - my favourite place. Unknown to us until he introduced himself, the manager lives close by to us - apparently he’s seen ‘Himself’ in our local supermarket many times and came over to introduce himself saying ‘hello neighbours’ and brought us a glass of wine each on the house. How kind and neighbourly was that?

So sad that the news of Soop isn’t better and hoping that things settle soon. It all feels so unfair, after suffering so much for so long, that she isn’t as far on the road to recovery as we hoped. Love and prayers.

Belated happy birthday jaxjacky and belated anniversary wishes to the cornergrans too ???. Sorry it was late ? Tuesday is a "mother" day and I'm so stressed with her that it's wine o'clock ??immediately we get home, and that makes me a bit lax ?. As always, hugs to soop and anyone else who needs a bit of comfort during these uncertain times

Jaxjacky Wed 02-Mar-22 11:53:54

Thanks Baggs blood confusion seems an unfortunate miscommunication.
The 17th as well as being a challenging day for the soops will be a day we’re all on extra good vibes duty.

Thanks all for birthday wishes x

Baggs Wed 02-Mar-22 11:37:40

soop sends her love to all and hugs to all who need them because of any kind of hard times.

The Barminess of the Bloods, it turns out, was that none could be taken. soop's veins would not cooperate. The nurse who tried told soop to call the GP to arrange another try. GP didn't know why nurse had said this and nobody seems to know what the bloody bloods were for anyway! So ??‍♀️ to that.

Meanwhile it seems that someone at the Vale hospital, after conversations with both the soops and a photograph of the problem, seems to think a different bag might solve it. So, as well as her mammogram at the Vale on 17th, the nurse they spoke to will also see them about different stoma bags. And then the soops will carry on to the Ross Hall hosp in Glasgow for the review with the surgeon who did the Henri Hartmann Procedure on soop.

That is going to be One Hell of a Day!

soop is mostly resting in bed and doesn't even mind the dust bunnies that she is sure are hiding behind cupboards and you can all rest assured that she will not be removing the bath panel to clean under the bath any time soon!

My birthday, I’ve had a lovely day, out with a friend for lunch and just been to the local for a couple, it’s pouring with rain here. I’ll see my children and our GC’s at the weekend, hopefully daughter will be -ve by then, my son works nights.
MrJ and I have been together for 23 years today, double celebration. I’ll leave my flowers to share with you on St David’s Day.
Have a gentle evening all x

Just catching up. Have I been asleep for two days? Poor soop, I hope your stoma site is soon sorted out. 47 years ago, I had to deal with a 2-year-old with a temporary colostomy. He was such a tearaway that he kept falling flat on his face and dislodging it! Glad to say that 2-year-old will be 50 next year. So good luck, soop, I'm sure the setback will be short-lived.((hugs)).
kitty, Glad Bertie's arm wasn't broken, but a sprain can be just as painful and damaged ligaments as hard to heal as bones. No football for him, for a while, I fear.

Grandmabatty Tue 01-Mar-22 18:40:46

I'm keeping everything crossed that Soop turns a corner. Thank you Marydoll, Baggs and MrSoop for keeping her kitchen informed. Today was a much nicer day than I expected. My oldest friend and her partner popped in. Fortunately I had pancakes so coffee and pancakes it was. I saw a neighbour out, when I was waving goodbye to my friends so went for a blether. She's so lovely and it was nice for a catch-up. Then I spent an hour in the garden, tidying up the front. I've just had roast chicken, mashed potatoes and a green vegetable medley with gravy and stuffing balls for dinner. I'm full! Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Thank you Marydoll for the news.
Stunning day here weather wise. Another lovely day with gd. I am grateful for being so busy as the current news so overwhelming.
Meeting a friend for a walk tomorrow. Have not seen for over a year. Looking forward to it immensely.
Thinking of soop and her husband. And best wishes to all.
