Sorry about the title, me brain`s not at it`s best at this time of day!

Grannmarie Fri 18-Feb-22 17:57:06

GrannySomerset, you will be so relieved and thankful that everything was perfect for your DH's memorial service. It must have been a great comfort to you, and a fitting tribute for him, to have such special contributions from your family.
You'll sleep tonight!? flowers

Thank you to Mr Soop, Baggs and Marydoll for the updates on Soop. As has been said, better safe than sorry for her journey home, given the weather conditions.
Best wishes to your friend Aldom.
I`ve seen pics this afternoon of the damaged roof at the O2 Arena, it`s right above the door where we went in at the weekend. That must have given folk in there a shock, glad there were no injuries.
One of my bins is on it`s side, but it can stay there till the wind dies down, I AINT going outside yet!

Weather hasn't been too bad in my part of Argyll, on the nearside so to speak of Rest and Be Thankful, but the roads are very sloshy. The hills are white and look nice when they are visible out of the low cloud.

Just wanted to pop in and send all my best wishes to Soop and Mr Soop. Such a brave lady and loving husband. It warms my heart to read that she is doing so well. Still blowing a gale here in Hertfordshire. The trees in the woods at the bottom of my garden are swaying alarmingly, but no major disasters so far, touch wood (see what I did there!) grin

Grannysomerset I'm glad it all went well. You are in my thoughts. It's also good news about Soop. Hopefully she will get home soon. I have had a rip roaring time with dgs1. Lots of hiding from the bad mouse and the dinosaurs. The bad mouse is from one of his favourite books. We went puddle splashing too and it was freezing! I'm having mince round and mash for tea as it's easy. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Good evening dear kitcheners - I do hope everyone is coping OK with this awful storm?? Thankfully a day for staying in the warm today ?. Lovely to hear soop is doing so well and soon coming home too. I'm sure she will be overjoyed with the new kitchen ?

Great news that Soop and Mr Soop will soon be reunited at home ?

grandMattie Fri 18-Feb-22 20:04:15

GrannySomerset, I'm so glad it all went well today. It is rather cathartic to to have got through the final goodbyes, isn't it? x

Jaxjacky Fri 18-Feb-22 20:05:41

I’m so pleased GrannySomerset, at peace ?
Thank you Baggs it makes sense that soop is steady and ready to go home, I’m sure the medical assessment prevails.
We personally escaped lightly today, others lost fences, trees down, greenhouses smashed and sadly one life lost.
Have a pleasant evening all x

Thanks for the Good News. We need some good news now and then and what better news than to hear Soop is doing well.

‘Evening All’

Such wonderful news about soop. Just think, years ago, a patient would be in hospital for about 10 days after such major surgery. Times have changed.

Glad the day brought you some comfort GrannySomerset and went well. x

Bellanonna Fri 18-Feb-22 23:43:43

I’ve just seen the latest from mr soop and Baggs. That’s great news and means that the patient is recovering well. She will be so happy to be home again in her own bed. Safe journey if you do go tomorrow mr soop. Thank you for all the updates.

This pic of soop and me from nine years ago today just came up on my FB. Merry times. There will be more when you are past this challenge, soop ❤️

Marydoll Sat 19-Feb-22 08:36:39

Baggs, you look so different!

Grandmabatty Sat 19-Feb-22 08:37:59

What a lovely photo!

Mapleleaf Sat 19-Feb-22 08:41:54

Such good news about soop. ?that she is able to come home today.
Thanks to all for the progress reports.

Hope everyone is ok after yesterday’s weather, and that you’ve escaped the worst of the damage.

Grannmarie Sat 19-Feb-22 09:06:20

Hoping the Soops have had a restful night.

I'm a bit discombobulated this morning cos the layout of gransnet has changed completely on my phone and I'm finding it very difficult to navigate.
It seems to be a split page with articles down the right hand side and I keep having to enlarge the page to read/ comment. It's not at all like the familiar, intuitive layout I always had. Anyone got any ideas?

Kalu Sat 19-Feb-22 09:27:37

Thank you for the updates Baggs and MrSoop. I am delighted that Soop is making such good progress. Won’t be long now MrSoop until your beloved is safely back home with you. Much love to both of you.

Aveline Sat 19-Feb-22 09:28:23

Just popping in from time to time to see how Soop's doing. Glad it sounds like she's recovering slowly from this major op.

Aldom Sat 19-Feb-22 09:48:55

Good morning everyone. Baggs what a lovely photo. You both look so happy, clearly, good friends.
It's calm after the storm this morning. The swaying fence is still standing but I think my neighbour will have to make repairs to it soon. It will not withstand another blowy day.
I'm going food shopping. Didn't venture out yesterday.
Thinking of Soop, trusting she has a restful weekend in preparation for going home as soon as possible.
No further news of my friend. So that means no change.

kittylester Sat 19-Feb-22 09:56:54

I remember that photo, I think, baggs or one very much like it I refuse o believe it is NINE years ago.
