Well I started this thread, and after 574 posts I still don’t know if we need the monarchy or not
Let me explain maddyone
The monarchy is a waste of space and money. They get £345 million
Queen and Charles lobby ministers for their own interests and queen's consent too to vet legislation over 1000 laws many to favour them, we are led to believe monarchy is above politics.
RF just attend they don't work which leaves lots and lots of free time to pursue their interests. No benefit to charities of royal patronage an independent report by Giving Evidence found. Check it.
The palace of Versailles has many more visitors than here in U.K. RF has no impact on tourism either.
There is PR and propaganda of monarchy which is a deception to the British public.
The monarch won't uphold nor defend our constitution getting public money she should do so. Presidents of European countries do defend their constitution, in the case of a rouge government as we have now queen can't intervene if laws are broken.
The monarch only does what the PM asks her pointless and powerless.
There are many palaces castles grand houses which queen and extended family use at very little rent or free despite having 2,3, or 4 houses of their own.
Something doesent have to be illegal to be corrupt The RF are in public office for private gain which doesn't help our country the opposite. RF are a drain on our economy.
So that's a few things to be going on with there is no positives in having a monarchy.
