Scentia Thu 24-Feb-22 06:15:09

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and wet.
Hopefully DH will be coming hoe today. He had a STEMI heart attack, his stents seem to be working well. He is being so positive, to the point of being unrealistic to be honest!! I will let him get on with his plans and see where that takes us.❤️ I am off to the factory in a while to get stuff done, I feel very important when I am on my own and making very important decisions, like turning the heat up in the workshop even though it is 18 degrees?
I do hope you all have a good day today.

Ashcombe Thu 24-Feb-22 06:16:07

Good morning from a similarly damp Torbay.

I’m glad to hear your trip to York will go ahead as planned, Mick. DH and I have a cruise booked for May this year, postponed from 2020 when it was to celebrate my 70th. The itinerary includes St. Petersburg but I expect that will be off limits if the current situation with Ukraine remains unresolved.

I hope Iris is comfortable after her surgery, grandMattie, and your homeward journey is easier than the outward one. Half term seems to bring more time with grandchildren for many and I’m looking forward to seeing DS with DGS3 tomorrow as he’s staying nearby with his father.

Enjoy whatever you’ve planned for today. ?????

Ashcombe Thu 24-Feb-22 06:18:10

Glad to hear DH will be home today , Scentia, and I hope he continues to recover well. ?

Beechnut Thu 24-Feb-22 06:43:19

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s a wet start. When I woke up I played guess the time. I was ten minutes fast!

My Photinia RedRobin has been found in a sorry state with a fallen part from the base and the other part dead. As I was cutting it up I could hear a loud tweeting and popped my head around another bush to see a robin sat on some bare branches close by. Perhaps he was sad ?

As it’s a wet one today it’ll be a day indoors and if I get all my jobs finished I’ll watch some more of Ozark.

I’m glad your DH is well enough to return home Scentia and hope Iris is doing well too.

Have the best day you can all ???

Pantglas2 Thu 24-Feb-22 06:53:26

Good morning Mick and all from lovely north Wales where I’ve just prepped my chamberpot ☕️for the use of ...?

Great to hear the good news on Mr Scentia and young Iris - let’s have more of the same for t’other family members with health woes ?

Mr Pantglas had all clears from results of tests etc. while I was gallivanting around Cardiff which eased my conscience somewhat? as I’d not liked to have let my friend down by cancelling her long awaited half term break. The floods at Shrewsbury nearly did for us on the way home as we had to return via Birmingham and Crewe! Hope you’re safe Susan56 and anyone else in danger of the deluge?

Will pop back later to read of your doings peeps.....

Jaxjacky Thu 24-Feb-22 06:54:53

Good morning from a wet S Hants, glad to hear your husband is recovering Scentia.
I hope Iris had a successful op yesterday and is recovering too.
I had a busy day yesterday and a delicious lunch out with a friend. Today I’m taking my daughter and the grandchildren out, we’re having a castle/beach explore, then lunch, it’ll be a wrap up warm day.
I hope you enjoy your day. Thoughts with the poorly and worried, hopefully a ? or ??will appear.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 24-Feb-22 07:12:35

Good morning from East Yorkshire. Just getting light and damp after rain overnight.

We had a lovely day at the Yorkshire Air Museum yesterday. I would recommend it . Suitable for all ages and plenty of play areas etc to keep young ones amused. Don’t know if it would be of interest to you Mick whilst you’re in York?
I’ve been awake since 6 awoken by neighbour putting his bin out. Needed another half hour sleep but heyho. Today we are going to London on the train for an overnight stay. DH for work and me to do whatever I please! Got matinee tickets for Jersey Boys. Seen it before but have seen most shows that are currently playing and it’s a show I know I will enjoy.

Glad your DH is home Scentia
Hoping the op went ok for IrisGM

Take care everyone.

Morning Mick, morning All. Another wet and windy morning in our corner of Somerset

Thoroughly enjoyed our family time yesterday, it’s rare everyone can be in the same place together. It’s our elder sons birthday, he’s off for a covid test before a flight tomorrow. Grocery delivery and some dust removal for us today. The news from Ukraine has unsettled me so good to be busy with practical stuff.

Hope all went well for iris, good news about your husband scentia and yours pantglas. Thinking of all coping with life’s difficulties.

Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

baubles Thu 24-Feb-22 07:15:46

Good morning Mick, morning all from snowy South Lanarkshire.

Glad your DH is doing well Scentia, sending best wishes for his recuperation.

We have to drop the daft dug off at doggy day care before we head over to the east for our childminding day. I’m hoping the snow doesn’t get any worse.

I’ll come back later to catch up with everyone’s news. Have the best day possible. ??

grandMattie Thu 24-Feb-22 07:18:41

Good morning from a wet Bristol.
I shall be brief and expand tomorrow.
Iris’s operation went well though she was out of the ward from 0800 to 1700, being stitched up, plastered etc. She wasn’t too good coming out of anaesthetic, with low BP. She’s was on a saline drip when we last heard, and having hourly bloods, etc.
As DD and I returned home at nearly 0200, I’m exhausted, needing to pack and get ready for the home journey.
Thank you all again. Talk 2mo.
?????☀️❤️☀️❤️?

Scentia Thu 24-Feb-22 07:21:25

So glad the operation went well for Iris Grandmattie and hope she continues to recover well. Take it easy today.x

GrannyGravy13 Thu 24-Feb-22 07:26:57

Morning Mick and all,

I have an early appointment, will pop back later

Gingster Thu 24-Feb-22 07:31:53

Good morning all and it’s wet here in Essex.

Little Gd is on the mend after the sickness bug. We had a lovely day with her yesterday. She had to find things of nature in the garden and tick them off for homework. We cheated on a couple - a river and dew on a leaf. She got her watering can and improvised. ?. Jigsaws and craft. She made a sweet little ‘school’ book and did story writing and sums in it. It so lovely when they thirst for knowledge. Her twin brothers (almost16) just can’t wait to leave school. Her big sister is at Uni. How different they are. !

Bowls and art clubs for me today. ?‍?. ?

Scentia - hope your Dh is home today. It will be hard keeping him down! ??‍♂️

Pants glad your dh is clear ?

Mick great your trip is back on. ?

Hoping your days are good ones. ???

brook2704 Thu 24-Feb-22 07:33:52

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had another dollop of overnight snow and it’s very cold at just about 1º. Yesterday we had non stop heavy rain all day so gardening jobs are definitely still on hold
So pleased your trip to York can still go ahead Mick enjoy!
Good to know your DH is home and feeling better Scentia and good news for your DH too Pantglas
Today we’re taking DGD to school and then I’m going onto the gym for my aerobics class. I’ll probably then stay out for a bit as we’ve still got the the workmen in doing our utility room makeover
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gingster Thu 24-Feb-22 07:34:16

GM - what a day for you all. Hope recovery goes well. Safe journey home.❤️

Grandmabatty Thu 24-Feb-22 07:35:51

Good morning all from a snowy Polmont. 0° and the snow is still tumbling down. There's a covering on the ground too.
Good news about your dh Scentia and yours Pantsglas. I,too, hope Iris is doing well. Ashcombe I took a school party to St Petersburg in the 90s. It is a beautiful city but, as you say, off limits at the moment. Beechnut I've just started watching Ozark. It's quite compelling.
Yesterday I visited mum and she was fine. Then art class where I've started a pastel of tulips in a bowl.
Today I'm going for lunch with dd. It's rare that we get time together just the two of us,so I'm looking forward to it. The hotel is just down the road from me so a short drive. Have a good day all.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 24-Feb-22 07:36:36

Good morning all from wet miserable Harrogate.
Good news about your DH Scentia he seems to have made remarkable recovery
Sorry Iris’s operation has been a bit of a trial, but it’s over now, and you should get some rest GrandMattie
A bit of bad news, sorry, our little ? never made it to the vet, she died in her sleep yesterday- probably for the best, we thought the vet would have “put her to sleep” anyway.
Today I get Sainsburies shopping delivered, then I’m off to the podiatrist, so should be feeling like I’m walking on air this pm.
Have the best day possible folks

Sar53 Thu 24-Feb-22 07:37:33

Good morning from a wet Essex by the sea.
DGD2 is 13 today, the second teenager in the family.
I've just heard that my daughter's step brothers and sister's dad died last night. He was left wheelchair bound after a stroke some years ago but only 70 years old. I knew him well and am feeling sad.
No plans here today.
I hope Iris has a better day.
Take care everyone xx

Susan56 Thu 24-Feb-22 07:40:34

Good morning from very wet Shropshire.

I have had a few health and family worries so have been absent for a while.

Thank you Pants. We have luckily avoided the floods although the garden is waterlogged.Local villages are flooded.Sadly the same properties get flooded again and again.Driving home the other day all we could see for miles was water. What is normally fields as far as the eye can see looks like the sea.

Glad to hear good news of Scentia and Pants’ husbands and also of Iris.I hope her recovery continues to go well.

Wishing everyone well.??

NannyJan53 Thu 24-Feb-22 07:42:15

Good morning from a rainy Black Country.

Enjoyable afternoon at the Panto yesterday with 3 DGD,DD & DS, then over to Mums for a meal at her local pub.

Today I am back over to Wolverhampton to meet up with Mum, Cousin, and Aunt ( Mums younger sister for lunch)! Cousin works in a school so as it is half term thought it would be good to get together.

Glad your DH is home Scentia let’s hope he continues to improve, such a shock when this happens out of the blue!

grandMattie hoping Iris recovers quickly.

Wishing you all a lovely day.

Susan56 Thu 24-Feb-22 07:43:33

So sorry to hear about your little dog Gwen?

BlueSapphire Thu 24-Feb-22 07:52:45

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton, not due to clear up till lunchtime, but I have to venture out in it as I have an appointment for a blood test this morning. Shall get the bus there, then pop into the village for a coffee before getting the bus home.

Then ballet after lunch - another bus trip! - and home again.

Book club was yesterday afternoon, but had to get the bus and walk the rest of the way as my usual lift did not turn up. When I looked at my phone she had sent me a message earlier in the day to say she had work commitments and wouldn't be going. As I hadn't looked at my phone for a few hours I didn't get the message in time to get an earlier bus, so I arrived at book club out of breath and very flustered! Was revived by tea and cake!

Glad to hear your York trip is going ahead Mick, and that Iris's op went well. And good news for your DHs, Scentia and Pantglas.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Grandmajean Thu 24-Feb-22 07:57:21

Good morning from Cheshire.
Good news about your husband Scentia
Best wishes to Iris. Such a lot for a little girl to put up with
I hate to hear of pets dying Gwen but it sounds as though it was a peaceful end. Still sad.
My daughter's 50th birthday today ! Can't believe it. She has booked the day off and is going for a spa day with a friend. The family are celebrating on Saturday evening with a meal in a local restaurant.

Marydoll Thu 24-Feb-22 07:58:43

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it's snowing. Thank goodness I don't need to go out, but poor DD is back in the office for the first time in two years.

That's good news that your husband will be coming home Scentia and hoping all is well with Iris and GM.
I have York envy, Mick. ? our local coach company are offering day trips all over Scotland and Northern England. DH and I are sorely tempted by some of them. Too early just now for me, healthwise, but we will probably do some later in the year, as foreign holidays are no longer possible, I am uninsurable! ?

I have little plans for today, my GP is phoning to check on me yet again, but I never know what time he will phone. After two years of hearing nothing, I now cannot get rid of him!
Yesterday was full on and I'm paying the price now! So a gentle day for me.
My plan is to revamp our weekly parish bulletin, it's extremely hard to read and extremely boring. Today will be spent footering on my PC, designing a new one. I am such a geek, when it comes to IT, I nerdily ( invented word) enjoy such tasks! ?

The electrician turned up early at 8am, throwing all my plans into disarray! However, I know his family well, through his aunt and of course (me being me), we had a verylong chat.
He was finished quite early, so DH drove me to Lidl. I was so relieved, as I hate driving in the one way system in the town centre. Furthermore, if I had been on my own, I would not have managed to buy as much. The icing on the cake was the £10 off shopping voucher.
I almost forgot to look for a £1.50 veggie box. Then I spotted a woman cherry picking (excuse the pun) from other boxes, to add to hers. So dishonest! ?

A quick dash home and off to the hairdresser's, where as usual, I had a lovely time gossiping, chatting.
Apparently DD had posted photos of the hen do on Facebook and the staff wanted to see the ones from my phone, all fifty of them! That must be why my phone has run out of storage! ?

I had to spending the rest of the idea lying down, because as usual, I got carried away, being out and about.
I then remembered that I hadn't looked at the veggie box. There was a cornucopia of fruit and veg, but the best was the three tubs of blueberries.
After dinner, I had the bright idea of making jam, but couldn't face the palaver of getting the jam maker down from the high cupboards. Light bulb moment, ? my bread maker makes jam!
I am now the proud owner of 1kg of blueberry jam, costing less than £1, with the absolute minimum of effort. All I had to do was wash the breadmaker tin.
#smug gran.

Wishing you all the day possible and a gentle day for all who are struggling.
