Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in brackley this morning, its surprising how quickly the week has gone .
Yesterday I notice in the bus the Blackthorn is still in blossom , usually a sign of bad winter weather still about.
Today, hopefully my day will me get the bus to Buckingham ,and then to Bicester, mainly for a change of scenery , on arrival at Bicester go and have a breakfast bap in cafe , do other shops as well , before coming home to watch cycle racing on TV this afternoon, followed by a Chinese Take Away , I also like to follow the local football team scores ,as they are second in the National League North to see if they better there nearest opponents.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning all! Bit late this morning as we have been to get the click and collect, unpacked and put it all away and I am still nibbling my weekly treat of a croissant and coffee.

We call at the corner shop for my paper on the way back and I have an enjoyable banter with the handsome lad and his lady boss in there. Bit of a shock this morning as he has bleached his hair and it looks a bit of a fright. We all had a good laugh (including him) and hopefully he will revert to his normal hair colour before long.

DH is going for a morning bike ride with his best buddies and I shall enjoy reading the paper in hand rather than online as I do the rest of the week.

Like everyone I am looking forward to hearing about the wedding Marydoll and hoping that it didn't wipe you out.

Have the best day you can everyone. sunshine

Good morning all from the Black country, the day looks hopeful with a much brighter start.
Seeing friends later we shall go over to Redditch.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings after my full English can't wait to hear about the wedding hope all went well.
Best wishes for anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed and may you all find some ?

Morning all! Just loving my huge washing enjoying the start of a sunny day. I get my kicks where I can!! Now for the wait for Marydoll whom I hope is in the lovely state of joyous 'recovery'. Bring it on.

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It isn’t raining but is very damp after a horrible day of rain yesterday.

Not sure of plans for today. We are going to get some Euros for our holiday this morning then see how the day unfolds.

DS has booked a villa for October half term and asked us to join them. It really cheered me up after the depressing weather yesterday and the awful news.

Take care everyone.

Good morning from Durham.
Dry and not a cloud in the icy, blue sky.
Yesterday marked the first anniversary of DH’s death, so I joined both DD’s for lunch and we raised a glass to him. How quickly the year has passed, it seems like only yesterday and he has missed so much.
Coffee with a friend this morning then the afternoon with DD2 and Baby as her DH will be out, cheering on The Toon.
A neighbour is organizing a goods collection for Ukraine so I’ll pop into the shops and stock up. Unfortunately they only want new clothes, otherwise I could have donated a lot of DH’s stuff that I’ve still got here.
Wishing all those who have poorly folk a good weekend.

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Had a quiet day yesterday. Postman must have been saving up my post as there were a lot of letters including a very nice rebate from HMRC.
Family usually visit on a Saturday, haven't heard from them yet but fridge is full just in case.
Another one awaiting the Marydoll wedding story.

Good morning all from a very sunny Glasgow.

Newquay, I was so sorry to read about your DH, I hope he starts to feel better, now that he is being treated in hospital.

Firstly, may I send my sincerest thanks to all who sent good wishes yesterday, I just never got a chance to respond, we were too long in the hairdressers! No surprises there!
I was totally wiped out, had to leave the wedding a bit earlier than most, but I had a ball!

We had a fabulous day yesterday, apart from a few disasters , but it wouldn't be a Marydoll family event, without some,
My hat caused such a stir, with many of the bride's family from the Stockport, coming and asking if I was the MOG or going to Ascot! I thought I was on the set of Coronation Street, they had difficulty understand me and I them!!

My close cousin's, friend who was at the wedding with her (my cousin's DH, died of Covid in the summer) had the same hat as me, but hers was black. However they looked so different.
The friend said she had paid £300 ? for hers in a famous, bridal shop in Glasgow.
She had decided to buy the same one as mine to wear at a wedding in May and I asked where I bought it. Mine was a fraction of the cost from Debenhams! ?
I ended up, giving her my hat and told her to keep, since I will never wear it again, it is so distinctive! My cousin was horrified that I was giving it away!

I'm off to try and cherry pick some photos for you all, they are all over the place. I will leave you with a couple of teasers.

Have a good day everyone. The sun is shining here! I will be back at some point.

Georgesgran Sat 05-Mar-22 08:51:11

Harrigran - I too got a rebate from HMRC after my DH died. Within 3 months they wrote wanting it all back, bar £100! I made them wait until just before the deadline for its return!

Serendipity22 Sat 05-Mar-22 08:51:12

Good morning everyone, good morning Mick. Your day sounds great, really great, enjoy.... smile

Today here in Yorkshire we have blue sky !!!! Wonderful. Cold but so what! Instant feel-good factor.

Well, i woke at 4.20am with Ukraine on my mind, i reached for my phone to read on the news app, what was happening. I was laid there snug and warm in my bed and just couldn't get those poor people out of my mind, the Russian people too, they are suffering too.

Today myself and Mr S are going for a drive then have lunch in a county pub, it was his birthday this week and we didn't get chance to go out.

I go about my daily business but a big part of my mind is very much on the people of Ukraine, I am soooo very very grateful for my freedom.

Reading my message, its not very cheerful, I'm sorry its not...

ENJOY YOUR DAY EVERYONE... X

Good morning from a cloudy S Hants. Welcome Newquay I hope your husband recovers from his UTI swiftly.
I’m hoping my daughter gets a negative LFT today or tomorrow so we can see her and the GC’s this weekend. Need to sort out old garden pots and bits to go to the tip on Monday.
Enjoy your day all ??.

Good morning from rainy Colchester. I've got time on my hands as DH tested positive yesterday. It took much nagging for him to take a test as it was "only a touch of manflu" according to him. I am feeling fine and testing negative but will stay at home just in case. Luckily I was able to stop DS coming home for the weekend and so I can sleep in his bed, which is very comfortable.
The good news is that my old Dad has finally relented to the nagging and got himself a mobility scooter which will make life so much easier. Our next mission is to get him to sell his car and use taxis instead as he is fussing over how Mum will get his scooter in and out of the boot.
I have read all your news good and bad but I don't want to miss anyone out when commenting individually.
So I will just send love to all ?x

Good morning everyone from a bright and thankfully dry Northampton. Sitting with my morning tea and an Apple hot.cross bun and it is going down a.treat.

A nice trip to the shops yesterday, had lunch, got the things Sainsbury's failed to deliver (plus a few extra odds and ends which took my fancy), and mooched around trying to spend my gift voucher without success.

Sorted my travel insurance out which was a.big relief, and browsed the net, looking for cruise possibilities. However the dates don't fit in with other plans.

Off to the cinema this afternoon to see "The Duke", which I have heard good reports of. With Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren it promises much.

Will go back now and read everyone's posts, and perhaps pop back in later.

Good morning Mick and everybody. Bright and cold in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 2°C. I’m sure the sun will soon warm things up.

Glad the dentist and the gardener were both a success GrandMattie, I too have been worrying about the war in Ukraine and its effects on those involved

Beautiful photos Marydoll, sounds like it went well. Hope you can rest today.

Hello Newquay and welcome. Hope your DH is recovering in hospital.

Pleased for you it’s stopped raining Elspeth and things are starting to return to normal.

I hope your husband is OK Kitty, falls are not pleasant.

For Georgesgran flowers

We had a lovely day meandering along the coast yesterday, I was so tired last night. I’m still in bed, I must stir myself now I’ve finished my tea and read all your posts. I think today will be spent pottering in the garden.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

Newquay sending my very best wishes to you and your husband.
I hope that he is soon on the mend and back home with you thanks

I’m so glad you had a wonderful day Mary. Does your DS look like DH? (A sentence bound to annoy the anti acronymers!)
I’m (still!) really looking forward to seeing your ensemble.
It’s lovely that you gave your hat away.
(When I went to my BF’s wedding I wore a rather spectacular feathered hat and a duster coat. Apparently I looked like Emmeline Pankhurst!)

My DH is a bit better it seems.
The GP came out, and it was touch and go whether he was going to call an ambulance. But he said that he appeared better than he expected (as did I - the confusion comes and goes).
Thank you all so much for your kind messages. I do feel like I am constantly moaning to you!

Have a lovely, peaceful weekend everyone.
Sending love to those with worries x

FannyCornforth Sat 05-Mar-22 10:06:51

And enjoy the village panto!
(Do you live in Ambridge? wink)

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside, northwest coast.
Blue skies.
Not thrilled with my effort at art group yesterday with water colour and masking fluid. It’s lovely to chat, but my concentration wavers. That’s my excuse anyway. Then after two onion bajis, straight on to practice with our little band, but joined by someone who irritates me and who ‘sang’ alongside me in my solos. She’s the type who likes to take over, so I left early, carelessly leaving some bits and pieces behind. I wish I had more patience.
Tonight into the nearest city, dolled up for a meal and fun with best friend.
Thoughts to Georgesgran
