How often do you shower and wash your hair

I was surprised to read on one of the other forums that a lady showered twice a day.
My husband before he retired showed at work before coming home. He did work that required this.
Into retirement I shower two to three times a week and wash my hair once a week. A strip wash daily for me is fine unless I am doing heavy gardening work.
My understanding was that showering too much is not good for us.

Re ‘bits’ . After doing away with the bidet, I would have liked to have had fitted a hand held loo spray like they have in most loos in Finland but my plumber said it couldn’t be done here.

Did you know the word pronounced bit is a swear word in French ? (Bite)

The word "bits" is too much?
I could suggest some alternatives...

Agree - the news is so grim right now.

Lucca, being incapable of 'bits in basin' the camping bottle wash is easier (for certain areas) than strip down. Just fill a large plastic bottle with warm water - and use to rinse 'bits' when sitting on the loo!

Please!!! Too much information!!!

Yup TMI for me on a couple of posts. I’m out !!

Daily warm/hot shower - usually before bed - helps me sleep …

Yes, we definitely need something a little lighter at the moment.

Ning74 Mon 07-Mar-22 17:05:39

Yes I agree too about a strip wash being more trouble than a quick in and out shower. However a strip wash may be more economical on water. I try to use as little water as poss by only having the shower on to rinse before soaping and afterwards of course. This for environmental and economic reasons.
I don’t mind such a chat as it’s only light hearted, not intended to be judgmental.

The strip wash thing…. Much easier for men as they can pop their bits in the basin….. less easy for us to be through with the undercarriage- hence my preference for a swift shower

We had a bidet in the bathroom but removed it when we changed things around.
If gas prices go up and up perhaps we should refit it.

It was very useful for soaking feet!

Every day or maybe twice a day when in a holiday home, having already paid for the fuel in the cost of the home !

Also I have the time too, when on holiday.

Other than that I am more with the OP jeannie99

DH stands in the shower every other day and just lets the water pour over him for 20 mins !!!

Before going to bed with my husband for sex.

And I am not going to tell you how often that is, ladies, as it is classified information.

Apart from that, whenever I think it necessary.

Love the hair, Callistemon21!

I shower in the morning and have a bath in the evening.

I know, I should be ashamed of myself.

Shower and hair wash every morning.
I can say with absolute certainty that there has been just one day in the past fifty years (probably longer, but at least fifty) when I didn't shower and wash my hair, that was the day my son was born.
I had a shower before bed on the evening before, went into hospital at 1-30 a.m., baby was (finally) born at 3.35 p.m.
I did manage to sneak out of the ward and into the shower at 4-30 a.m. the day after he was born though, when I had possibly the most wonderful shower I've ever had, it was certainly the most appreciated!

I have a wet room, but I moved house to where there is a shower room.

I imagine cleaning these glass screens is an awful bore and wonder if instead it's a good idea to have washable shower curtains to use with a shower.

Yes...it is. I wash my curtains roughly once a month. Wouldn’t want those doors.

DiscoDancer1975 Mon 07-Mar-22 16:35:02

Shower every evening. Can’t see the point of showering in the morning, unless you’re going to have another before bed. My children all do though, bar one. I just ask them how they can get into bed dirty, sweaty, smelling of that night’s cooking etc.

I swim three times a week, cycle, walk, so need to shower and wash hair on those days.

I can’t see the point of a strip wash. Too much faff. Our showers are over the bath, so just rinse round.....easy.

It is true, we don’t need soap, just to ‘ get wet ‘ every day. I can’t bear the thought of that though. Luckily, my skin is good.

Redhead56 Mon 07-Mar-22 16:34:05

Top and tail every day I don’t have set days for showers. I shower whenever I feel like one if hot most days wash hair once a week

BBbevan Mon 07-Mar-22 16:28:47

Shower and wash my hair every morning. Leave my hair, which is quite fine to dry naturally. Always have done this and always will. Clean underclothes every day also

Shower and hair wash every morning....sometime have a bath in an evening

Patsy70 Mon 07-Mar-22 16:13:47

Can’t bear the thought of a ‘strip wash’. It would take longer than jumping in the shower each morning. Usually wash my hair every 2/3 days. I bath about once a month, with natural oils added, when I’m having a bit of pampering.

Kim19 Mon 07-Mar-22 15:52:38

Every day for me hair and shower. Many years now so I can't understand living this long and not being a wrinkled old prune. It's actually my incentive for getting out of bed. Love it and do tend to linger when not going out early. Only bath when in hotel. Can't be bothered with the wait if I'm at home.

BlueBalou Mon 07-Mar-22 15:45:20

I love a bath in the evening, a shower if it’s hot weather or if I have got grubby gardening or something.
I cannot get into bed without washing, bathing or showering ?
