Can I ask if any of you have had cosmetic surgery or fillers in an attempt to make them selves look younger?
Would those who haven’t, consider it if they could afford it?The reason I’m asking is that, a friend of mine has had a face lift and it honestly looks amazing! You’d never know she’d had it done. So natural. She just looks 45 instead of 60! I never knew they Couid look so natural. It’s made me think about if I’d be brave enough if I had the funds.

No I haven’t and no I wouldn’t I am what I am and proud of how I look without my face being tampered, with, needles stuck in stitched, tucked or having unknown. chemicals or substances shoved in it
We aren’t meant to look 45 when we re 70 be proud of what you are what you ve become and what you will be

I know someone who had a mini facelift. She was mid fifties. It wasn’t obvious she’d had anything done; she just looked well. I’d be worried about having my face sliced open. I remember her saying that the recovery was rather uncomfortable and that was just a half one!

I am tempted to have some minor things done but it's expensive and I would probably do better spending it on my teeth.

I had this, only had one course of treatment because then Covid kicked in, it was £250 and I am considering going back and having it done again.

My friend however had fillers they cost her £1600, lasted about 18 months and she can’t afford to get it done again so to me that is just a waste of money. Most of these treatments Botox, fillers etc Do need topping up and can work out very expensive. I would never have anything injected into my face Botox or fillers..

There was an advert for cosmetic fillers on our local Facebook page today; prices started at £250. They put up photos of a young woman before and after treatment. She looked miles better before and there were so many comments pointing that out that they took the advertisement down.

Just keep Madonna in mind as a warning. That weirdly shiny, smooth face coupled with the very obviously 60+ year old hands! Less is definitely more if you want it to look good.

My friend had the same procedure as Judy Murray. It looks really good.

I knew someone who had botox injections to her face. Sadly she looked terrible afterwards - like a china doll. Her face became expressionless.

Nope, I’m already beautiful grin

Keep Carol vordaman in mind * deedaa* her face looks so strange like a plumped up doll/ child
It’s vanity I see a place for it if someone has been disfigured from fire or accident or even nature I contribute to the smileTrain a charity helping children with Cleft palettes now that is wonderful to see what help can be given and done on those little faces but old women and men trying to look young is just not good
Be proud of your various ages

Don’t like that stretched, polished wind tunnel look, just keep your hair, make up and clothes stylish, don’t get obese, but extra pounds here and there look better than skinny as you get older. What I wish I could pick up the courage for is some dental implants, possibly I’m too old now to get my moneys worth so I will have to be as I am. Talking of Carol Vordeman, I think she has spoiled herself, she was very attractive but now looks weird, do wish they would stop showing her perfect bottom, it’s hideously big, not a good look, people are going to wish they had never had the implants in their rear ends, so out of proportion and the only good thing you can say about them is that they mesmerising the sheer size. Shows you that some surgeons are only bothered about the money.

A friend of mine had a facelift that worked well. I didn’t even notice, just thought she was looking really good. I think I would look better if my jawline was restored, but I wouldn’t dream of doing it. So many people look worse, not better, after cosmetic surgery. Felicity Kendal is an example. She was very pretty, but now looks like a plastic doll. And Liz Truss appears to have two sets of eyebrows. You can still see where her natural ones were, but she has new ones higher up .

I hadn’t seen Carol Vorderman’s new look, so googled. Horrific! I wouldn’t have recognised her. As for her figure….it’s grotesque.

PS - her brain isn’t all that wonderful, either. True, she got into Cambridge, which isn’t easy, but then she got a third class degree. It is actually quite difficult to do as badly as that!

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 10-Mar-22 09:48:27

No way. I am what I am and have better things to spend my money on.

Hetty58 Thu 10-Mar-22 09:53:08

My friend has had a 'neck lift' and cheek implants - absolutely amazing. I'd be terrified of it going wrong, though - and scared of the pain, too, so, for now, I'll just go for having my lashes 'lifted'.

I could afford to have any of these procedures but I would not. Nobody shows photographs of five years later when all the fillers go lumpy.
Age gracefully and don't try and turn back the clock.

My friends fillers just disappeared, probably absorbed by the body I imagine ? I say each to their own but as I said previously I would not have any injectables in my face

LilyoftheValley Thu 10-Mar-22 10:49:11

I have botox in my forehead and am pleased with the result. Nothing drastic.

henetha Thu 10-Mar-22 10:49:58

I've got used to my old face now, and anyway can't afford such things. I'd rather just perk myself up with a pretty scarf and a bit of lipstick.

timetogo2016 Thu 10-Mar-22 10:56:26

No i wouldn`t have anything done,i look the way i`m meant to look.

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 10-Mar-22 11:19:17

I remember seeing Lulu on Who Do You Think You Are some time ago and her cheeks looked quite lumpy which I assumed was fillers wearing off.

BlueBelle Thu 10-Mar-22 11:26:42

Can people not feel proud of themselves what ever age they are we re not meant to look 20 when we are 70/80 there is nothing sadder than someone pretending to be young Lulu looks ridiculous Pricilla Presley even worse a young girl face on an old gals neck
I do not admire anyone who is so vain that they need to try to make themselves look like a teen again

Be proud ladies every line every wrinkle has a story behind it be proud of what you are and who you ve become
