Good Morning Everyone,
Its a twilight start again this morning , it looks like the start of nice day with seasonal temperatures.
Today , bus travel to Bicester and back to watch the cycling on TV.
I received notification of a coach trip mystery weekend ,a one night stop over , I worked out the clue awhile ago , Saint Tudno is where its heading.
Also looked into a Harrogate return, but by rail, and self booking a Hotel , the one I used when I last did it seems to be back to normal as regards to things.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from Polmont where it's 10° and cloudy. Congratulations Shazza on the birth of your granddaughter. Definitely a good weight. Gingster I'm really sorry to hear about your daughter's health. She'll be glad you are there to support her. Monk ? condolences on the loss of your friend.
Yesterday was a fun day. I picked up dgs1 from playgroup and then it was a train day. When he's not being a dinosaur, he's a train. I was a massive freight train (no comments please?)and a steam train. That was more like it as I huffed and puffed "doing a run" as he calls it. I have to run up and down the hall chasing him. His dad picked him up just before teatime.
Today will be a quiet day. I had dreadful dreams in the early hours and they are still bothering me. I'm not sure what I'll get up to today. Have a good day all.

Gingster, I was so upset to read your post. I have no suitable words, I cannot imagine your pain, but I can offer my prayers.

Sorry to hear the worrying news Ginster sending ??.

hollysteers Thu 10-Mar-22 08:27:01

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Firstly, thoughts to Gingster, a worrying time for you.
Enjoyed the lunchtime concert yesterday, although the programme was not exactly my cup of tea, technically it was first rate and a full house. Then coffee with friend Gabalot who is a real tonic, before dashing off to see friends mother as arranged in her nursing home. Blow me, on my way, I spotted her sitting in the window of a coffee shop in her wheelchair with carers. I joined her there and walked part of the way back to the home.
Today, taking a coach to the Lake District from a new pick up point. It’s a 25 minute drive as not all trips pick up from the station round the corner, which is so handy, but will give it a go. Don’t enjoy longish drives, never had, even as a young thing,
Hope you have a good day and prayers for Ukraine ??

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I had a rough night. Covid has given me the worst head cold I've ever had.
Today will be spent hydrating and snoozing.
Love to all ? x

Good morning all from our corner of the S Welsh coast, it is dry after overnight rain.
Our DD has returned from her holiday in the USA and has kept us entertained with tales of her travels. It is a huge relief to have her home though with the international news so awful.
Congratulations Shazza your dgd is a good weight. Our baby dgd is six weeks old today, enjoy your cuddles, I sure you can't wait.
Gingster I hope your DD's treatment on Friday goes well, my best wishes to you both.

Take care everyone.
Lovely photos Grandmadinosaur.

Morning from an overcast Staffs. Congrats to Shazza on new baby, condolences to Monk and heartfelt sympathy to Ginster and her DD.
DH is still in hospital expected to be discharged today. Failed catheter trial yesterday. He is hard of hearing and too polite to be assertive. So wish I could be there for (junior?) doc’s rounds. Told him he must insist on prostate being investigated ASAP; his father and brother both had prostate cancer. Worrying times; if they just send him home under GP care it will be some time before he can get an appointment let alone a referral to a Urologist.
Thank you for letting me ‘vent’

Hello everyone! First things first..... Shazza ?wonderful news. Wonderful..... Just read through all your goings on. A wonderful and pretty perfect picture of the tapestry of life. We have sad, glad, fun and misery. The complete mix as it should be. Heart goes out to the sad and anxious. Unfortunately we all seem to get our turn of this but thankfully we are a resilient species in general. I love all your general ongoings and little things that lift the spirit on a daily basis. An extremely fine bunch of people contribute here in my opinion and I find that heartwarming. I don't always pen but I do always read. More power to your elbows! My highlight today will be a local lunch with a friend. Lovely. Mind you, I've had some unexpected surprises recently by way of invitations and acquaintance renewals so it's amazing what a day can bring out of the blue. I live in hope! Cheers everyone!

Jaxjacky Thu 10-Mar-22 09:00:55

Good morning all from cloud/sun in S Hants.
Many congratulations Shazza ?
Hope your DH is improved gMattie
monk ?
I’m on the phones for the voluntary drives today, so I won’t go out for long, just a walk. My daughter and the grandchildren went to Winchester Cathedral last night for the ‘science and light’ show, they were all very taken with it
Enjoy your day all. ??

TopsyIrene06 Thu 10-Mar-22 09:19:14

Gingster Thinking of your daughter today and of course yourself.

Auntieflo Thu 10-Mar-22 09:21:37

Good morning Mick, Annie and all, from a sunny bit of Berks.
It is lovely to read of all the busy 'doings' that go on here.
Congratulations on the birth of your GD Shazza, my DS2 was 9.9ozs, so I sympathise. But he is now so tall and skinny!
I apologise for not contributing more, but to all who have problems, either themselves, or family members, I send my best wishes for speedy recoveries.
Ginster, for your DD I sincerely hope that she gets the care and attention that I have had and am still receiving.

I hope to pop out this morning and have a bit of time mooching. Not that I last long these days, but it will be nice to be out in the sun.
Have a good day one and all.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 10-Mar-22 09:23:49

Another morning where I’ve overslept , it’s sunny but very windy in our part of Oxfordshire today, MrOops is a tad better this morning, I popped to the chemist as his prescription had almost run out yesterday ( clad in my mask and with hand wipes) got home and realised I had forgotten my own, silly bat.
I might change the beds today as the drying possibilities look good.
Shazza many congratulations on the safe arrival.
Ginster I know how you are feeling, MissOops had cancer over 25 years ago and my stomach still churns when I think about it, I’m sure that you will be by your daughters side throughout and you will be a huge comfort to her, as my daughter told me that I was for her.
So many GNers with sick family members, hugs for you all.
Jaxjacky I was born and we lived near Romsey and often went to Winchester for a stroll, I think it was quieter in those days though, we move up here 42 years ago and I still want to go ‘home’.
Pleased to hear you are back to your good self Marydoll
Have as good a day as you can everybody, it looks as though it’s nearly Spring.

Georgesgran Thu 10-Mar-22 09:28:06

Good morning from Durham. Looks like a beautiful day in store.
So sorry to hear your news Ginster - these things are sent to try us! Fingers crossed for your DD.
Hope GM’s DH is feeling better today. I took a herbal sleeping pill once - I had violent nightmares and DH was worried I’d ‘do something’ in my sleep! Never again.
Congratulations to ‘Shazza* - always a relief when it’s all over.
Newquay - hope your DH is discharged later, having asked those necessary questions!
I’ve DD2’s dogs here today, so a good walk or two on the cards.
Have a good day.

luluaugust Thu 10-Mar-22 09:30:49

Good morning all from bright W Kent. Off to group this morning. Congrats Shazza lovely weight. Glad you had a sleep Gmattie. Condolences Monk
Ashcombe you bought back a lovely memory of people nodding off in a meeting. We were all watching a very soporific railway film in a small room, trying not to nod off when one of the older members fell of their seat and slid gracefully? to the floor.

Blossoming Thu 10-Mar-22 09:37:29

Good morning Mick and everybody. Light cloud in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 11°C.

Good to hear you’re planning your travels again Mick. There was a ship named St. Tudno, I traveled on her as a small child. It was a round trip between Liverpool and Llandudno. I have always loved being on the water.

Congratulations on your new granddaughter Shazza, what wonderful news!

Glad the new car is a success Marydoll, enjoy your jaunt today.

Sorry for the loss of your friend Monk.

Sorry to hear of your DD’s further troubles Gingster, fingers crossed her treatment will be successful.

Hope your DH is feeling better Newquay.

Another letter from the hospital yesterday, with a blood form. Will get that sorted next week, the blood clinic at the hospital has gone back to ‘drop in* so we can drop in Monday or Tuesday. I must admit I preferred the appointment system, no queues.

Another day with not much planned, I felt quite unwell yesterday after a sleepless night so will take it easy.

The situation in Ukraine seems to be more horrific every day, Putin is a war criminal. I pray this awful war will soon be over.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

harrigran Thu 10-Mar-22 09:41:09

Good morning from the NE where it is sunny again.
Slept late this morning, sat sending messages late last night.
DD had visited her DH in hospital and they had gone for a walk to the coffee shop. Physio were pleased with his progress and they are hoping he can come home today.
The reason they could not do keyhole surgery was that the gall bladder had perforated and the bowel had adhered to it. He has been a lucky man, he had no idea that he had gallstones.
DS took me shopping, I managed everything I needed to do and be back home in one hour, DH would have been proud of me.
Quiet day for me today, may tidy my wardrobes.
Have the best day you can.

hulahoop Thu 10-Mar-22 09:42:58

Sorry to hear your news Ginster my heart goes out to your daughter and you at this worrying time for your family .
It's good to read how much more we are getting back to normal although I do feel we will never go back to what we were 2yrs ago .?to all who needs them .

EkwaNimitee Thu 10-Mar-22 09:44:05

Good morning Mick and all from grey Carlisle.
I'm having a quiet morning today as I'm having my regular venesection after lunch. I've been minded to put it off as my ears are still whistling away but that will simply prolong the treatment. I have done my small pile of ironing though but that's it for the day housework-wise.
Congratulations to you Shazza and your family, your new GS is a good weight.
And it seems quite a few folk are suffering this morning in various ways, my sympathies to you all.

gillgran Thu 10-Mar-22 10:01:08

Litterpicker Thu 10-Mar-22 12:02:36

Good morning from a rather grey West Sussex. I should probably have seized the opportunity of a dry day yesterday, to do garden/allotment but I have been trying to motivate myself to excavate and spring clean the bedroom. I managed to get myself going yesterday and made good progress. Why do I always end up with layers of stuff on the floor and all surfaces?

So sorry to read of your daughter’s news Gingster. Hope you have support for yourself, to help you in your continued support of DD.

As others have said, good news and bad are always side by side in this thread. I am glad to hear of Harrigran’s SiL’s progress.

Congratulations Shazza on new GD - it seems a long time since I cuddled a baby so I may be a teeny bit jealous envy of you and of Lins - how can your GD be six weeks old already?! Glad to hear your DD is home safely from US - it sounded a great trip.

Hope your DH is not sent home without further investigation Newquay - so worrying and frustrating.

Mick it’s good that things are getting back to normal with your trips.

I’d better get on with something ‘useful’! Hope the day goes as well as possible for all GMers.
