Radar Love.
For years I thought they were saying
and the line of cars go down in Soho

When in actual fact it was
And the line of cars go down real slow, woah

Same song,

I heard
Brandy-Lea is coming on strong

The lyrics are
Brenda Lee's coming on strong.

Spent many hours searching the atlas for Orientah, where the three kings came from.

I'm still sure Freddie sings about pork sausages in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Not the lyrics but for years I thought Procol Harum were called Purple Harlem.

Which line?

Sit down you’re rocking the boat -used to wonder how The devil will grab you under by the ‘tied’ lapels of your chequered coat. Turns out it was sharp lapels!

Snowberry 'Spare him his life from this monstrosity 'always sounds like spare him his life from these pork sausages. ?

There was an amusing thread on this topic some time ago.

I used to think the Hollies were singing "He's wearing his Mackinson". It was "His welfare is my concern". (Song..The Air that I breathe)

You don't have to say you love me just because of ham - Dusty Springfield

I only realised this last Christmas that in the song We wish you a merry Christmas that it’s glad tidings we bring you and your Kin and not King as I’ve always sang.

nadateturbe Thu 17-Mar-22 10:48:31

I thought that too Shazza

The lift goes up where we belong.....( then something about flying eagles and high mountains ). Don’t know who sang it or what it’s called so can’t check the lyrics. Maybe someone can help. It’s always bothered me.

Love lifts us up where we belong Silverlinings

Sung by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warne

Ha, thanks Grandmabatty. Wasn’t so far out, but far enough for it not to make much sense.

I thought a nonsense song was:-

Mairsie dotes and dozey dotes and little ivy tivey. A kiddllee tivy too, wouldn't you?

Actual:- Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy. A kid'll eat ivy too, wouldn't you?I

I would be embarrassed to tell you what age I was before I discovered this!!

You know the song in the Dior perfume ad?

For ages I thought the words were 'I want to swim down the Champs Elysees'. Even though that makes no sense, I told myself that the point was that wearing the perfume meant you could do the impossible.

“I’d really love to see you tonight” by England Dan & John Ford Coley. I really thought the line “I’m not talking about movin-in” was I’m not talking about the linen! until it was explained on the Johnnie Walker show on the radio.

In Peter Gabriel's song "Games without Frontiers" I always thought the background singers were singing "She's so popular". It turns out all my friends thought the same. However, now I know it's "Jeux sans frontiers".

I challenge anyone to watch this and keep a straight face:

I thought the same! You mean it's NOT. She's so popular?
