Good Morning Friday, March 2022
(50 Posts)Good Morning Marydoll and all who follow. It’s very late for Mick?
A big red ball is in the sky so promising another lovely day.
Have a good day everyone ??
Here’s Matt.
Thanks for opening up Marydoll. I do hope Mick is alright. He seems to have several concerning health issues at present poor man.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester. We have a lovely pale pink sky at present. There are quite a few commuters these days on the train station platforms. Things are getting back to a more normal level in many areas I’ve noticed. When I went to the diabetes prevention class the senior dietician, a lady I knew well as a colleague from the hospital where I used to work, wasn’t wearing a mask and the 8 of us who attended didn’t either. We were well spaced out, the door was open to the sunshine and it was quite lovely to see everyone’s faces while we chatted.
M&S food hall late morning for supplies, picking up my stepfather en route. Himself secured a F2F doctor’s appointment at our surgery for next Thursday which he is happy about.
Enjoy Friday all who can. x
Morning everyone from another lovely day here on the south coast 7c and set to get warmer.
I was waiting for Mick too and am hoping that all is well with him after his problems of the last few days. Fingers crossed.
DH is having a morning bike ride with his chums and I want to do some admin and catch up with the chores I have neglected due to enjoying the sunshine outdoors.
Thinking of our Grans with health issues of their own or of loved ones and other anxieties.
.
Take care and have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning everyone from our last morning in Palma, we should be home in Inverness tonight
Thanks for opening up Marydoll and hoping Mick is ok
Will catch up soon and hoping everyone has a good day ?
Thank you , Marydoll.
It is daylight but quite misty here.
I feel at a loose end as DH was admitted to the Canterbury hospice yesterday morning. He was summoned soon after 9, but we didn’t go in before the district nurse had changed his syringe driver. He behaved impeccably all day, but threw up his dinner, also was in a lot of pain.
I hope he’s not too polite and “didn’t want to bother anyone” but asked for relief. He’s in isolation until his PCR test comes back.
I have to wait in for my new fridge/freezer (hurrah) so can’t visit, but have arranged for our friendly retired bishop to do so sometime today.
The blossom on my little dwarfed plum tree is starting to open. I hope we have plenty again this year. I’m putting in a quince at the front, for Philip, later in the spring.
Have a good day all. Carpe diem. ?????❤️
Good morning from sunny East Yorkshire,
Hope Mick is ok?
I’ve been feeling pretty lousy the last few days. Covid is rife at DH’s office. He is working from home. My tests are negative. Hope stays that way as have a few things planned for the weekend including lunch out with the family on Mothers Day.
So nothing planned for today. Just resting.
Take care everyone.
Safe journey home Brook
I was concerned, when I couldn't find today's thread, so I took the liberty of opening up. Hopefully, I haven't duplicated it! ☺
Given our concerns about Mick's health, over the last few days, I am hoping nothing untoward has happened.
My shenanigans this week, have left me with little energy, so apart from a Sainsbury's shop ( I must keep away from the clothes aisles, I must keep,,,,,,,) , I have no other plans.
We had a telephone conversation with Dollie last night, after a glowing report at parents' evening. Daddy was in the office, mum was at home with Dollie and her teacher in the classroom. The wonders of technology.
My job in later years, was to walk up and down corridors, chasing up teachers and parents, who overstayed their appointment. ( Not an easy task).
DIL, told me that there was a timer, which had a coloured count down, going from from green to orange to red and then stopped the video call.
I would have embraced that!
Unfortunately my precious Dollie was having a strop, (never! ?) naked because it was now summertime and she wanted to wear pyjamas with shorts. Unfortunately she had outgrown the short pyjamas, there were none and had refused to accept that! ?
Sending my best wishes to all, who are having a difficult time healthwise or emotionally. I hope today brings some peace.
Finally, Oops, I was absolutely delighted to read your good news yesterday! ?
Enjoy the sunshine, all!
Hello ,
Getting nose bleeds irregular ,went to surgery yesterday advised to use Vaseline .
over cuts in nose etc ,had a blood test see doctor in a wek or so
Take Care,
Mick
Thanks for starting up in Mick’s absence, *Marydoll. I do hope he is ok.
Good morning from a sunny Torbay where I am happy to report a second negative LFT test yesterday. A few symptoms remain, as with the tail end of a head cold, but nothing to diminish the joy of going out in the sunshine!
My car is due to be serviced early today so we will drop it off at our local garage then take a stroll over the Downs to make the most of the weather.
I hope your DH will be as comfortable as possible, grandMattie and that you are looking after yourself. The tree planting in memory of Philip is a lovely idea.
Wishing everyone a good weekend. ??????
Mick ? glad to hear from you. Rest up.
Good morning all from another lovely day in Derbyshire.
Pleased to hear from you Mick and glad you're seeing the doctor.
Our DGS's and dogs are still here until late morning. First breakfast of cereal has been eaten, second breakfast of pancakes follows later. DH is just out with the dogs, he's not enjoying walking the delinquent Labrador who pulls constantly and takes all the pleasure out of any walk. He's seriously in need of some dog training.
DD and SiL will collect them all late morning after the removals van arrives at their new house and everything is unloaded. First job here will be to restore order, dismantle the 'dens' that have been built and vacuum up all the dog hair!! Then catch up on some sleep, probably!
Have a good Friday all.
Safe journey Brook, enjoy your last day!
GM, ?
Good morning all from a brightish North Leicestershire.
As both dh and I have covid there is not a lot on the cards here - just a lot of sitting down and coughing.
Sending love to all.
Another lovely spring morning in Oxfordshire. Happy Friday to all.
My DD1 is suffering from the effects of her first chemo session, hopefully the symptoms recede in the coming days; 6 months seems a very long time. Looking forward to the weekend and a coffee catchup with children and grandchildren, plus gardening and long walks with our very lively dog.
I hope your DH is more comfortable today GM my thoughts are with you both
.
Morning All
Thank you for opening up Mary. Relieved to see you Mick. Also relieved you’ve sought medical advice. Take it easy today, it sounds as if a rest would do you (and marydoll!) good.
After a productive (for us) day yesterday we hope to go to our local NT for a walk in the sunshine, or at least to navigate the many seats. Energy low here but it is so good to be outside while the sun is shining.
I’m sure you’re husband will be well cared for grandmattie, in my experience hospital nurses are skilled at spotting folk playing down discomfort. Hope you can rest a bit.
Take care everyone. My thoughts are with those with worries of any kind. Hope Friday is kind to us all.
Good morning from S Hants, sun and +3. Thanks for opening MD.
Good you’re seeing your GP Mick we were concerned.
Not a lot on today, a birthday card to post, curry to make for dinner and Tesco delivery this afternoon.
Glad you’re now ‘free’ Ash.
Thoughts with you gMattie, quince trees have beautiful blossom.
Enjoy Friday all, ??
Good morning from a hazy Essex by the sea.
I heard yesterday that DD2 now has covid as does her youngest daughter. I feel a little better and may test today or tomorrow but cannot believe it will be negative yet.
Last night we were meant to be going to see Genesis at the 02, postponed numerous times, it just wasn't meant to be.
I am looking forward to seeing DH tomorrow but obviously don't want to pass this virus on to him. It's been very lonely these last few days.
Good to hear you are taking your doctor's advice Mick.
Have a fabulous Friday everyone xx
Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Thank you Marydoll for opening up. Glad you are Ok Mick. I was worried about you.
Hope your DH settles in the hospice and gets the treatment he needs.
Yesterday DH a new I had a lovely time in Knaresborough, found a pharmacy offering 4th boosters so we got them and came out with 2 boxes of LFT tests. Then we met DD1 to see a solicitor after that we went to Wetherspoons and had lunch in the garden. Today have to take my case full of stuff for Ukraine about a mile down the road.
This afternoon we both have dental appointments.
Have the best day possible folks!
Good morning from sunny ? Cheshire.
A top up shop today. No usual Friday date with GC as one still has Covid.
Good that Mick made a reassuring appearance.
Good morning all from the Black country, nice and sunny again.
Shopping today and perhaps a walk round the arboretum.
Picked up a couple of LFT packs yesterday from the chemist saw someone come out of there with some, so thought I would pop in and ask.
Haven't read through yet will catch up later, take care all and enjoy your day may you all find some ?.
Good morning from sunny Colchester. Looks like this spring weather is going to last until the school holidays begin!!
Boiler service this morning. It doesn't seem like a year since it was last done.
As DH has a rare free day we are going for a drive to find somewhere for lunch out.
Glad that Mick is being checked out. He had us all worried for a bit there.
Love to all ? x
Good morning all and it’s a lovely day ?.
Sar - it must have been a long week for you without your Dh. He’ll be back with you soon and I’m sure will be happy to see you on the mend! ?.
GM ?.
Chrissielou ? for you and your DD.
We had a lovely get together lunch with my two DB’s yesterday. We . Sat outside under a canopy In the warm sunshine.
A week ago we had lunch with friends sitting around a log fire with blankets over our legs. ?.
Today I will shop early and stock up for DD. Dh might be going fishing and I’m meeting a friend for lunch.
Hoping you all have a pleasant day. ???
Good morning from a sunny NE.
Yesterday DS arrived before 9am as he had dropped GDs off at school on the way. We were at Sainsbury's by 10am and were finished very quickly.
We had a cup of coffee while we played Scrabble and I was well and truly beaten yet again.
After lunch DS drove me to the coast and we had a pleasant walk, absolutely no wind which makes a change.
Nothing planned for today so will catch up on some household jobs.
Your DH is in the best place for symptom control grandMattie, hope he is settled when you see him.
Enjoy the good weather everyone.
