The weather has turned and the beautiful sunshine of the past week or so has turned to rain and an overcast sky. Yesterday my dear brother was here helping me sort out the spare bedroom which had slowly turned into a junk room!!! It is now going to be called the 'attic' Things that I want to keep but seldom use are now packed neatly in boxes and a cupboard and chest of drawers. I can find anything now instead of having to search for what ever it was. He took everything away I didn't need or want and will dispose of for me. Its such a weight of my shoulders. Today I have a small stack of items which need to be placed in the garden shed so will do that later. I have an old work colleague coming for lunch and my gp ringing this afternoon for a meds review. So a full on day again. It would have been lovely if the sun was out again but the weather won't affect what I'm doing. smile

I've been in touch with them twice about being referred to the wrong dept at the hospital, and missing letters, and nobody getting back to me when they said they would.
They were helpful then, but I think it's all a case of shutting the stable door.... horse bolting...
My liver is working at 30 percent capacity now.
They also discharged me from hospital without informing me of that fact.

you need to see an endocrinologist by the sounds of it Miss A. Do any of us live near enough to you to push for you to be seen etc. This damn pandemic has overlooked loads of people who need to be investigated properly

JaneJudge Fri 08-Apr-22 16:54:19

I don't know why it changed specialist to endocrinologist confused

MissAdventure Fri 08-Apr-22 16:55:32

I think I have seen a hepatologist.
I had to put in a complaint first though, because my gp had no record of me having a 'bleed' and going off to a and e again, a couple of weeks after being discharged from hospital.

Z
Any road up...
I didn't mean to take over the thread with my ailments.
Sorry all

MissAdventure Fri 08-Apr-22 16:59:55

Wzcusexthe erroneous Z.
My eyes and fingers are also affected or effected.
Or both!

JaneJudge Fri 08-Apr-22 17:02:14

don't apologise, it sounds bloody awful.
You have your grandson to look after, have you stressed this? I know other people have people to look after but you are older as a carer to a minor (I know you are still young) and you have had terrible stress and loss too
Can any of us help? x flowers

Callistemon21 Fri 08-Apr-22 17:02:28

Don't apologise.
I want to come and bang on the GP's desk and refuse to leave until they have made you appointments for investigations for the next day.
Then the same at the hospital!

I'm normally very easy-going until enough is enough!

Sorry to read you are so unwell, MissA. I hope you soon get the correct treatment you need.

I've had such a busy week I feel wiped out so have wasted a whole day doing sod all.

Feeling guilty now. blush

MissAdventure Fri 08-Apr-22 17:13:20

I'm glad I've made you all feel so good. grin

I am hoping that I'm slowly unravelling 'the system'.
Imagine trying to fill all this on a pip form, coupled with not being able to stand longer than a couple of minutes and having to photocopy 50 odd letters as evidence.

I'm just waiting to be turned down now.

Glass half fullMissAdventure It may well turn out fine. Good luck ???

MissAdventure Fri 08-Apr-22 17:45:33

Thank you all. thanks

silverlining48 Fri 08-Apr-22 17:58:51

MissA my thoughts are with you as ever. You WILL overcome, once you have managed to get those photocopies and seen the right person. You can get copies of your medical notes from your gp if that helps sort out the evident confusion. flowerscupcakesunshine
As for what I have done today, well to my astonishment I have bought a wheeled walker and a chair (which doubles as a commode !) for use after my hip hop next week. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Dear God. I wish I could help. This is all so wrong. You must have been like this for ages, saying nothing. We're your friends, please lean on us.

Well, my potential chest infection with a negative LFT turned out to be Covid 12 hours later so much of this week has been either in bed or feebly trying to function downstairs. Thank goodness for being triple vacc’d, it was like flu or a really bad cold.
Hey ho! I feel a lot better today.
So today I walked DDog (a wonderful neighbour has been doing it), tidied and cleaned the kitchen and living room, cooked lunch and spent the afternoon watching the Maxwell story on iPlayer.
Tomorrow I will clean upstairs and tackle my craft room that needs a serious stash-thinning session. So, let’s see how it goes!

Callistemon21 Fri 08-Apr-22 18:13:39

Don't overdo it!

I am preparing two different meals for tea tonight chicken for husband beef for me and an apple crumble. Supposed to be shifting furniture to make way for my new much needed recliner. It will have to wait my back is aching.
This continual cold weather just makes the joints worse a little sun gives a small amount of relief. My sympathy to anyone with continual health issues.

Auntieflo Sun 10-Apr-22 15:24:20

My sympathies to MissA, here's hoping that you get seen and sorted soon.
I have been for a CT scan, and we negotiated the dreaded multi storey car park, after having to change lanes as the ticket machine wasn't working. Then one of the hospital lifts was opening and shutting it's door like billy oh and would not move.
Home now, had lunch and feet up with my knitting and/ or book and a cuppa.
What an exciting life we lead.
