I’m going to look at wigs in case the chemo makes my hair fall out.
this week’s unaccountable ear worm
The weather has turned and the beautiful sunshine of the past week or so has turned to rain and an overcast sky. Yesterday my dear brother was here helping me sort out the spare bedroom which had slowly turned into a junk room!!! It is now going to be called the 'attic' Things that I want to keep but seldom use are now packed neatly in boxes and a cupboard and chest of drawers. I can find anything now instead of having to search for what ever it was. He took everything away I didn't need or want and will dispose of for me. Its such a weight of my shoulders. Today I have a small stack of items which need to be placed in the garden shed so will do that later. I have an old work colleague coming for lunch and my gp ringing this afternoon for a meds review. So a full on day again. It would have been lovely if the sun was out again but the weather won't affect what I'm doing.

Lucca My dd had extensive chemo and had her hair shaved for charity. She didn’t wear a wig, unless it was a fancy dress occasion, and I really admired her strength and confidence.
Wishing you all the very best and hope you find something nice ( which doesn’t itch).
20 years ago I’d have done that but I’m too wrinkly now !
I was going to have a mooch around the shops but we have had snow, hail, rain, gale force winds here in my bit of Birmingham so I have stayed put.
Well, we had a power cut at 6.30 that finally ended at 12 ☹️, so little has been done other than walking DDog and trying to keep warm. Luckily we have the wood burner now so not as bad as it could have been! Several heavy snow flurries but not settled at all thankfully. I need to do the ironing now and put away the washing then give DDog another walk.
Bit of a non day really, my get up and go has evaporated!

Do you have a friend who can advise you honestly?
You can always ignore her (or him) of course and go for something outrageous.
I've been to physiotherapy - goes are the days when they were hands-on and made you use gym equipment etc. It's just chats and printouts of exercises now - "do try this at home".
I made a Red Velvet cake this morning and put the washing on. Did a bit of tidying and planned what cakes to make for a group meeting non Sunday.
This afternoon I have been to a sewing/ knitting club where it was my turn to make the tea/coffee.
Home to send a few emails and read a magazine. Just about to sort out dinner.
We've had sleet, snow, wind and hailstones here, but I still went out. Met my Sister-in-law, had coffee and cake, mooched round the charity shops, bought some books for the GDs, then went back to SIL's house, reminisced about things, went home, had a quick and easy dinner.
Hi new here. Need cheering up!
Welcome telkiefin

I’m seeing an expert hairdresser (she’s had chemo too) who has ordered some specially for me to try without obligation . Chosen to look as close to my own hair colour and style. Ironically my hair is about the only thing I’m happy within about my appearance !
My niece is coming with me.
Didn’t go today due to snow on the roads …going tomorrow.
Went to our daughters today we went near Skipton for pub lunch. We went on a brief shopping trip afterwards. Back at home later on in the afternoon started preparing for a nice Mediterranean meal for tomorrow.
Did not do a lot today. Stayed in the house, looked at the sunshine through the windows but knew it was blooming cold outside so I stayed in. Even a few snow flurries at times.
Kept the house warm and just pottered around,
Lucca so sorry to read that you are facing chemotherapy.
What an awful worrying time for you but I hope whatever treatment you are facing will be successful.
Good luck with the wig search tomorrow with your niece.
Sending best wishes to you too Lucca . ?
Best wishes and hopeful your treatment is successful Lucca.

Oh good. I hope you find one you like.
I hope the snow melts although it's going to be minus C in most places tonight.
Perhaps it's because I've just knitted a snowman!
Thanks for the kind messages! Sadly my treatment will only buy me time, not a cure. But I’m trying to be as positive as I can…some days that goes well, sone days it doesn’t ! It would help if I could sleep !!
When my friend lost all her hair she was only in her early fifties, always having had a head of lovely dark hair, she opted to go blonde. Her hair grew back, but she has stayed blonde ever since.
Hope things are going okay for you Lucca, tough times.
Snow here overnight and it's really cold. I'm working in the library this morning so better get moving.
Good luck with the wig Lucca and hope the chemo is not too debilitating. Enjoy the good days.
Well, my day has gone wrong already and it isn't 8.00am yet.
DH is going to collect a floor sander from a hire shop 20 miles away. It is a pleasant rural journey, so we were going to go together but in the night I woke up and felt a migraine come-on. I immediately got up and had some pills, but it is still there and I am feeling under the weather so will probably opt for a morning on the sofa with a rug and a undemanding book, variously reading and sleeping.
After lunch I am taking a friend for her 4th jab. She cannot drive and the centre is 10 miles away, so I cannot let her down. Hopfully by then I will be feeling better.
Have fun choosing your wig, Lucca.
?for you, Lucca. Good luck with the wig trial. Remember doing it with my lovely Mum and we ended up having such a laugh through the underlying misery. Hope the head improves for your errand of mercy, Monica. I'm going to brave the cold here and venture into the big city for lunch with a friend. We both need some social activity rather keenly. Cheers everyone!
I've heard that there is a pop-in corona virus vaccination centre not far from here today. So I will go and see if I can have my fourth jab.
Just been out walking the dog for an hour, now sitting with coffee, then the dentist followed by the hygienist, then lunch then walking the dog for another hour, then preparing dinner then not sure.
