The weather has turned and the beautiful sunshine of the past week or so has turned to rain and an overcast sky. Yesterday my dear brother was here helping me sort out the spare bedroom which had slowly turned into a junk room!!! It is now going to be called the 'attic' Things that I want to keep but seldom use are now packed neatly in boxes and a cupboard and chest of drawers. I can find anything now instead of having to search for what ever it was. He took everything away I didn't need or want and will dispose of for me. Its such a weight of my shoulders. Today I have a small stack of items which need to be placed in the garden shed so will do that later. I have an old work colleague coming for lunch and my gp ringing this afternoon for a meds review. So a full on day again. It would have been lovely if the sun was out again but the weather won't affect what I'm doing. smile

I am currently sorting washing...rolling knickers...such fun. I will then cook some lunch and then a walk to marina post room to collect a parcel. My dremel type tool set has arrived. I have started making miniatures. One day I will have a doll's house to put them in smile

I’ve made some fairy cakes for this afternoon.
Played with 11 month old DGS for a couple of hours.
Off to craft club this afternoon where we are painting clay mugs.
Once home I shall make Chilli. Some for dinner and some for the freezer.
This evening I have a WI committee meeting .

Since moving here four months ago, our lives have been completely upside-down with almost constant remedial/improvement work of some kind going on. My DH, a retired builder, used to say that his customers were always glad when he finished the work and left them to it - now I know what he means! Chilly today, so I have done the ironing and put out some washing. It's been very busy in the garden, I seem to spend a lot of time watching the birds building their nests and chasing one another!

Day 5 of being positive! Made a forcaccia to keep my spirits up plus a risotto to keep other half busy ! So much harder as we are staying at home to avoid others and feel very lethargic! Two years late to the party so maybe we got complacent !! Hey ho!

Well we were taking DD to Lidl but the car broke down again 4th time since Christmas. It spends more time in the garage than on our drive.

Today DH and I went over to our local cafe for lunch as I have a school governor commitment at 4 and not likely to be home until well after 6 and he has an online work meeting at 4:15. for a couple of hours. Cheese & biscuits later!
I have pottered a bit in the greenhouse attempting to make space for the indoor seedlings that will need potting on soon and putting in there!
I also sorted out the top drawer by my bed.. which was in a bit of a muddle!
I enjoyed a cuppa whilst listening to an interesting programme on R4, The P word, presented by Rajan Datar about the impact of the use of the term 'Paki' on his life .

Sneezy in the mornings - LFTs are negative and the sneezing stops after about six!! Then I might sneeze three or four times in the evenings.
I thought it might be hay fever.

Having spent the day getting the house and the meal ready I am waiting for my sister and bil to arrive.
They go to their flat in the town I live in once a month for about 3 days and either we go to them for an evening or they come to us.
Bil asked what time . I replied 4.15 or earlier and we would eat at 5pm ( that time suits our digestive systems better).
Just received a text from Bil ( he makes the decisions - used to work high up in a company ) to say they will come at 5.15pm.
They always leave by 9 pm, and I really wanted to have as long as possible to have a chat with my sister. So, once we have eaten and cleared away, we will only have about 2 hours. The husbands take themselves upstairs to watch train videos.
Not a big problem I know, but we can't wait to see them every month and it just seems as though we are an inconvenience on this occasion sad

Morning: scrabbling around on the kitchen floor sanding the skirtings, then caulking same - trying not to use left knee in any way. Have made appointment to see a private orthopaedic consultant - still waiting for NHS Xray results (nearly 3 weeks), am in pain but not giving up.

Pm: walk the dog (he walks, I hobble)
Decide the firm contracted to make a pond won’t be used - appalling customer service and this has been going on since well before Christmas.

Readjust sacro-iliac joint.

Look at the front lawn which is in need of a cut and sigh, grab a book and a cuppa.

Cheers!

Readjust sacro-iliac joint.

That's really interesting, Madashell
I wonder if that could be my problem (GP and surgical registrar just smile and say it's old age when I complained about an excruciating pain in that area).

How do you readjust it please?

TwinLolly Wed 30-Mar-22 17:15:36

I've had my natural lenses replaced with artificial ones yesterday. My eyes are very tired so I've been resting for most of the day!

madeleine45 Wed 30-Mar-22 17:30:54

today it is absolutely freezing and miserable outside and bitterly cold. Had to go to the bank and a couple of other things because having b een ill I am sort of out of kilter with things and need to catch up with things. Really bitter and glad to get home. Too miserable to even think of putting the washing out so have put it on clothes horses , but dont really like drying inside. Maybe it might clear up later and let me put them out. I was so cold and couldnt get warm so made some soup and warmed up a bit but even got my dressing gown to wrap round me to warm up . Must be getting nesh! Anyway halo is shining a bit more today as have sorted yet more paperwork and rubbish out. But havent felt up to tackling the ironing yet. It will be a warming job of course but done enough for today I feel . Lets hope the promised snow or freezing doesnt happen as there is a beautiful magnolia in a garden near hear and if the frost comes it will ruin it. The daffodils look good and to see some of these lovely blossoms cheers the day

Musicgirl Wed 30-Mar-22 20:32:13

I was with music exam candidates as they took their exams (also accompanying). They all did really well.

Basically caring for my DH doing palliative care and trying to fit in housework, cooking, laundry, shopping, monitoring medication etc. Today a bit of a treat with sun shining and DH asleep I swept up loads of leaves even clearing them from beneath a couple of large shrubs took 30 mins before I was summoned indoors but the clear sky and fresh air were just so enjoyable.

Mapleleaf Wed 30-Mar-22 20:54:20

Continued with the decorating today - spare bedroom. Must get it done as wardrobe fitter coming next week. It will all be worth it, I keep telling myself ?.

Redhead56 Wed 30-Mar-22 21:13:02

This morning I made a baked dish Janssens temptation for our tea. Then I went shopping for undyed smoked haddock. We have just one supermarket with a proper fish counter now all the others closed down. Naturally smoked fish is not always available so I was pleased to get it I make a few tasty dishes with it.
We went to our sons to see the twins and played games with them. But the girls make up the rules so they always win no matter what the game is.

Happysexagenarian Wed 30-Mar-22 22:13:59

I've been sewing all day, making a quilt. I ventured up the garden to see what DH was doing to the plants and played with the dog. DH cooked dinner. Yesterday was horrendous, a bad IBS-D attack left me totally exhausted and I did nothing all day, so I'm pleased to be back to normal today. A day spent sewing is my idea of heaven!

MiniMoon Wed 30-Mar-22 22:16:29

Today I took a walk in the snow, and went to my Knit and Natter group in our local library.
I was first to arrive, took off my coat and gloves and sat down to wait for the others. I waited for 30 minutes, decided that nobody else was coming so I put on my coat and gloves and walked home.
I looked like the abominable snowman when I got back, the snowflakes were like goose feathers. It didn't last though, and looks like it could be frosty tonight.

Callistemon21 Wed 30-Mar-22 22:45:35

Today I had lunch with friends then came home and battled with my own snowman, MiniMoon. ⛄
He's sewn up and stuffed but hasn't any arms yet.

GagaJo Wed 30-Mar-22 23:30:06

In the middle of covid so spent most of it in bed. Not dying, but defo feeling horrible.

Riverwalk Thu 31-Mar-22 08:39:23

Hope you feel better soon Gaga - glad yer not dying!

I have various errands to run, including to Peter Jones to yet again fondle the air fryers - worried it might end up in the cupboard with the George Foreman grill.

I might also spice up my day with a trot around Boots as have run out of various unguents and essential beauty aids!
