Beautiful memorial service for Prince Philip

Just that really.
I thought the Queen looked amazing, considering the time she's had. She looked so dignified as well.
I sort of agree with PA helping her in. After all, he is her son and it's a memorial service for his father.
Also it's a way of showing certain absent members that 'this is what loyalty' in a family looks like.

The children were beautifully behaved and doesn't Princess Charlotte have a look of the Queen about her?shock

It does seem a bit sad that Harry wasnt there.
If this was any ordinary family I suppose we would be saying he has gone No Contact with Prince Charles and that he and the Queen are estrangedparents/grandparents!
Seems a bit cruel to do that to an old lady, in what could be one of her last public engagements.
But that is my opinion.
I'm sure the PH fanclub will be along in a minute to disagree. hmm

Other than that, it was a lovely service.

Turkish ‘fraudster’ who gave money to Prince Andrew is living in apartment owned by the Queen
Selman Turk, who is embroiled in an alleged £40m fraud, lives in prestigious Crown Estate property close to Buckingham Palace

Bear in mind…we only have become aware of Prince Andrew getting £750000 due to a court case.

There is absolutely no accountability or transparency around the Windsor family, which is why there are serious allegations of criminality hanging over Charles & Andrew

Apartment not owned by queen owned by Crown Estate which is public property.

Beautiful Memorial Service for PrincePhillip is the OP by snowberryZ on mar 29th.

to answer the OP. Yes it was I enjoyed the service.

Grany, what does that have to do with a memorial service for someone’s husband? Do you, whatever your feelings about the HM, begrudge that?

The OP consisted of about 50% complaining about Harry, how he'd broken an old lady's heart and how we can expect the PH fan club along any moment.

Same ole same ole, right enough.

If you want to have a thread about nice hats and we'll behaved children, go ahead. If people bring nastiness into the first post of a thread, nobody gets to complain about people speaking their minds later on.

Thanks Anniebach.

There are 440 properties to rent in the crown estate this month, there is a letting agent , not Buck house

volver Sat 02-Apr-22 09:41:56

I hope you haven't spent too much time looking that up Anniebach.

You must be exhausted.

No wonder people don't bother to comment on GN anymore. This thread is about the memorial service for Prince Philip, but as usual has turned into a trash the RF thread. Can't certain people start a thread devoted to Prince Andrew and his misdemeanors and leave those of us who enjoyed the memorial service to comment accordingly in peace?

Mollygo Sat 02-Apr-22 09:51:37

Jaberwok, read volver@8:55. It excuses everything.

volver Sat 02-Apr-22 09:51:53

And yet, the OP was largely about trashing the queen's grandson and poking fun at the people who take his part.

Take the plank from your own eye.

All this was in the OP……

I must admit that I initially read the OP as an invitation to pour more vitriol on Harry. Why mention him otherwise?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 02-Apr-22 10:09:15

I’ll take no lesson from those who trash one member of the royal family but complain bitterly when I and others criticise another member, who clearly had dealings with the gutter members of society.

Caleo Sat 02-Apr-22 10:12:56

"To Be a Pilgrim" is one of my fav hymns, words and music. I also like the reading from Isaiah "They shall mount up with wings as eagles" and I keep the quotation on a sticky note

She was probably crying because she had just found out that not only was her father involved in sex trafficking, but now her parents have been involved in a fraud.

Naturally Windsor knows nothing about it, and in any case has paid back the money fraudulently obtained.

Do you not have an ounce of human compassion? Unbelievable comment! And I’m a republican.

Are we only allowed to be critical certain members of the family? We need a list...

I have as much compassion for the young woman crying at a service for her grandfather, as that young womanhas for the young woman on LBC who only ever eats what her children have left over, who works full time and simply does not have enough to cover her bills, and who is clearly utterly worn down by trying to manage

maddyone Sat 02-Apr-22 10:56:30

Your comment Whitewave clearly shows that you do not have any compassion for a young woman crying because she misses her grandfather, simply because she’s very privileged in terms of monetary wealth.
If you prick her, she will still bleed. It was a nasty comment and I’m not the only one who has called you out for it.

But maddyone, why is it OK to say the most terrible things about M&H, but not anybody else?

FannyCornforth Sat 02-Apr-22 11:02:12

Volver I expect that it’s because many people dislike H&M, to varying degrees; and despise some, or many, of the things that they have done and said.

volver Sat 02-Apr-22 11:04:19

Well, maybe some people dislike the York girls.

It doesn't matter. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
