Morning Mick, morning All from a cold, dark, dry corner of Somerset.

Not a lot of sleep, never mind, nothing much to do today. Admin accomplished yesterday on to a paper sort out today. Mr C will wield the shredder. May wander out for a while unless yesterdays snow showers return. Would rather watch them from inside smile.

Thinking of everyone managing difficulties. Hope Friday is gentle with us all.

grandMattie Fri 01-Apr-22 06:13:05

Good morning from a very cold (for April) E Kent. The forecast is for the same sleet, hail and snow + gales as yesterday. Not very pleasant.
Yesterday as long. The urologist and oncologist both seem to want the other to take responsibility for DH’s treatment. Whatever happens, a needle biopsy needs to be done. When?.. your guess is as good as mine. The one good thing is that the hospice is happy with his condition, and happy that I can look after him, with support from various agencies if required.
Hope all goes well in your lives today. Seize the day! ???❤️????

grandMattie Fri 01-Apr-22 06:14:05

I meant to say that it is extremely likely that DH will come home today.

Pantglas2 Fri 01-Apr-22 06:17:24

Good morning Mick and all who follow from lovely but dark north Wales where I’m up with sparrowfart enjoying the use of my chamberpot ☕️ - something I missed on my oliday as they only had paper cups in the room!

Didn’t want to post of my jolly whilst reading of folks trying times ? but know that my thoughts are with you as you muddle through with your own health or loved ones difficulties x

I noticed that some regulars have been missing recently and still so miss Friday Girl- she was the start of our weekend wasn’t she??

Hats off to all those doing childcare on a regular basis - I’m standing in for my DD next week, early office opening and key holder etc, while they trot off on a break for her birthday- that will come as a shock as I’ve been retired 5 years! ?‍♀️

Crumpets for breakfast (another missing poster) and awaiting fitting of new bedroom windows - it will involve cleaning ? aargh ?

Ashcombe Fri 01-Apr-22 06:27:28

Good morning all from a distinctly chilly Sarthe! Yesterday we had a biting wind in which I watched (from indoors!) a blue tit struggle to take off from the bird feeder. Snow possible today.

That is good news that your DH is coming home today, grandMattie, with news of a date for his biopsy forthcoming soon, we hope.

Thank you for the supportive comments re DD2 who sounded reasonably bright in the evening when we spoke, having slept for much of the day. She is being sensible about rest, fluids and paracetamol regularly but I fear she'll be over anxious to return to work. As Dep.HT, she finds it difficult to relinquish her responsibilities.

Take care and keep warm, everyone! ??????

Gagagran Fri 01-Apr-22 06:42:14

Good Morning everyone from a cold south coast. 1.3c but the gales we had yesterday have gone and hopefully the light snow flurries we also had, have gone with the wind.

It is difficult finding out who is charge when there are more Consultants involved in aspects of care. My DH had four liaising his care but his surgeon took overall control and decided the order and timing of treatment. He assured me that DH was HIS patient and he would continue to be so for 5 years. I wrote down everything each one said and kept/keep separate files for each speciality. Mostly this was telephone conversations as it was all happening in the midst of the pandemic lock downs and face to face was extremely restricted.

I hope you get things sorted Mattie and that you get the backup at home that you will need. It is hard and I am sending you kindest thoughts and wishes for easier days to come.flowers

A quiet day planned for us but things have a way of turning up so we will see if they do.

Take care everyone and have the best day you can. sunshine

Urmstongran Fri 01-Apr-22 06:47:40

Already! Can’t believe it.
Back in a minute, kettle’s just boiled.

ShazzaKanazza Fri 01-Apr-22 06:51:37

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a dry Hull it’s a mixed day weather wise sunshine and showers.
Up early as DH needs to be in hospital at half 7 for his procedure but don’t think he’ll go down till lunch.
grandMattie so pleased your DH is coming home today. You’ll not have that early journey into Canterbury everyday?
Ash hoping your DD can just concentrate on getting well and not worry about what’s going on at work. ?

I’ll just be waiting for the phone call to pick up DH so won’t be going far. Picking up DGS from school haven’t had him since Monday so really looking forward to seeing him.
Take care everyone and hope Friday brings a moment of joy??

Jaxjacky Fri 01-Apr-22 06:58:03

Good morning Mick and all from a cold S Hants, +1c.
Good news your DH is coming home gMattie, I hope the necessary support kicks in swiftly, my thoughts are with you both.
Paper cups Pantglas I’ll assume the rest of your break was top notch.
Pleased your daughter is, for now, taking care Ash may she feel better speedily.
Busy day on the voluntary phone yesterday, a quieter one today, milk delivery for friends locally with covid, some pottering about with seed labels, then I’m out tonight.
Enjoy your Friday those who can ??.

NannyJan53 Fri 01-Apr-22 07:02:22

Good morning from another very cold Black Country with bright blue sky.

Just back from refuelling car £35 only took it to 3/4 full. Not long ago £30 will fill it!

As I am up early, off to gym shortly, then back to Wolverhampton to attend an audiology appointment with Mum. Going on bus and using my Senior Pass!

Have a good Friday everyone

Urmstongran Fri 01-Apr-22 07:07:17

Here’s Matt.

? to you Pantglas nice to have you back with us. I only mentioned your absence yesterday! Now, where’s Scentia? I hope her husband is okay. And no show from Marydoll yesterday? I hope you’re alright missus - goodness this is like herding cats.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. We have a baby pink & blue sky. I can see the Pennines but it’s bitterly cold with frost about. I’m off for a routine blood test this morning at the hospital up the road where I used to work for over 30y. It’s nice to say ‘hi’ to ex colleagues I see on my walk through the long corridors. I shall grab a coffee to go from the cafe in the square and walk through the park wearing my pink teddy coat - perfect weather for it! Better put some clothes on underneath too or I’ll be arrested.

Enjoy Friday all who can. x

Gingster Fri 01-Apr-22 07:17:46

Good morning all and it’s still chilly here in Essex.
That biting wind yesterday was a shock as I stood in the playground with little gd.
I had a long coffee meet up with my loveliest of friends. We started school together nearly 67 yrs ago, so know everything about each other. She is suffering health problems and has a ‘tricky’ husband who doesn’t deserve her, ?.
It’s good to get things off your chest with special friends. ❤️.

Today Dh and I will meet our usual Friday gang for a lunchtime drink and light lunch. The chaps were all at school together so, again, they have known each other a long long time.

Hope the April Fool gremlin doesn’t catch you out!

Wishing you all a good day! ?

baubles Fri 01-Apr-22 07:19:37

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sky is streaked with pink but it’s -2* according to Alexa.

Unusually for a Friday I’m working today and have to do a stocktake for the start of the year. One of the volunteers has said he’ll come in early to help me which is nice of him.

Nice to see you Pantglas. I hope Marydoll is feeling up to posting today.

Thinking of you and your husband today Mattie.

Have the best day possible everyone. ??

kittylester Fri 01-Apr-22 07:25:56

Good morning all from a very chilly North Leicestershire where the dustbin lorry has just rumbled past.

Up early as our new cleaner gets here at 9 am. This one seems like a keeper.

Sending support and love to everyone!

Beauregard Fri 01-Apr-22 07:26:39

Good morning from a bright but chilly Derbyshire. Thankfully no early outing for me today, although I await a phone call that will summon me to go out at some point later in the morning.

I've arranged to meet a friend early this evening for her belated birthday meal. I wasn't very organised shopping yesterday and failed to pick up a gift for her, so will need to do something about that before we meet.

Thinking of all facing challenges, worry and illness flowers

Hope Friday is a good day.

Beechnut Fri 01-Apr-22 07:30:33

I know Urm. Seems like the pinch punch is coming every other day.
Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it’s frosty and sunny.

I did three loads of washing yesterday and as I went to peg out the first two it started to snow then out came the sun. I gave up on the third and bunged it in the tumble dryer. That won’t happen much in the future!

I had a very unusual dream last night. It was about my mum I was trying to show her a photo of her great grandchildren.

Off to do the weekly shop a bit later than normal as I’ll wait for the car windscreen to defrost.

Good news about your DH coming home Mattie.

Have a good day all ??

GrannyGravy13 Fri 01-Apr-22 07:32:00

Morning Mick & all

It’s chilly…

Not sure if we have The Imp today as he was snotty & grotty yesterday.

grandMattie I expect your DH is eager to get home.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 01-Apr-22 07:32:22

Good morning all from snowy Harrogate- looks like we had a fresh fall of snow overnight, not as deep as yesterday morning though.
Good to hear you’ll have you DH home today GrandMattie.
Good to see you back Pantglas
Glad your DD is taking care of herself Ashcombe I’m sure she will be sensible about staying at home.
This morning I have an appointment at the hospital followed by a PCR test prior to my having a gastroscopy on Monday. (Something to look forward to!). In between I have to self isolate, so will miss a tea party at my DD’s tomorrow.
Have the best day possible folks

BlueSapphire Fri 01-Apr-22 07:34:37

Good morning everyone from a bright but chilly Northampton; frost on the summerhouse roof. We had terrible snow showers yesterday, one minute a blizzard, the next brilliant sunshine. Luckily I could go to ballet class by bus and back, so managed to miss being caught in one.

A nice surprise early evening; a neighbour called with a bottle of fizz for me to enjoy over the weekend as it would have been our Golden Wedding on Sunday. People are so kind and thoughtful.

A bus trip to the little retail park over lunchtime where I shall have a mooch around the shops and probably have lunch out. Need to return some clothes to Sainsbury's. DS will be dropping in at sometime to pick up the luggage weighing scales; they are off on their hols tomorrow, and don't want to be overweight.

Hope all goes well today; take care everyone.

BlueBalou Fri 01-Apr-22 07:37:30

A frosty but gorgeously sunny start here in Wiltshire, off to a dog field nearby with DDog and a friend and her dog, first time. Hoping that DDog won’t be too boisterous!
Never did get the ironing done yesterday because we had a 9 hour power cut- thank goodness for the wood burner or we would have been very cold.
So, will get that done later and see how the day pans out. Craft room needs a damn good tidy and sort through, I’m sure there’s quite a bit needing rehoming ?
I hope your DH safety returns home grandMattie, and that everyone has a peaceful day x

Grandmabatty Fri 01-Apr-22 07:53:58

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -3° and very frosty out. I would say Happy April and spring but it feels more like winter! Blue skies so hopefully the frost will disappear quickly.
I hope your dh comes home to you soon grandmattie. BlueBalou I would have been cold indeed after nine hours! ? For you Gwenisgreat. Good luck with the hospital visit.
Today I have a chiropodist appointment and then I will pick up prescriptions. When I phoned yesterday the lovely assistant had already ordered them and they are waiting for me. My diabetic eye check is on Sunday. They are working overtime to catch up because of the effects of covid.
I have no plans for later. I'll roast a chicken and that'll last for a few days. Have a good day all.

brook2704 Fri 01-Apr-22 07:56:31

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and bright with a blue sky but still freezing cold ?
Lovely to see you back Pantglas I hope you enjoyed your holiday ?
Today I’m meeting DD2 for lunch and a bit of shopping and then probably pick up the DGC from school. It’s their last day before the Easter holidays and DGD is so excited as they’re going to watch the Disney film Encanto later.
Good that your DH can return home granmattie - look after yourself too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings?

Sar53 Fri 01-Apr-22 08:14:10

Good morning from Essex by the sea where we had a snow shower earlier now the sun is trying to shine.
I wrote a long post at 7.00 and lost it so I will wish you all a pleasant Friday xxx

Grandmajean Fri 01-Apr-22 08:19:36

Cold here in Cheshire but sunny too.
Two youngest GC today after school. They haven't been here on their regular Friday visit for three weeks as Covid hit their household. Worryingly , all tests negative until several days into the virus - doesn't make it easy to avoid ! You do wonder if that is the reason cases are rising.
Have a happy April 1st. Flowers to those with worries.
