Happy as can be (whatever the circumstances)
All good pals
And jolly good company.
Welcome dear peoples. Tuck into our buffet of home-baked goodies.

Awwww what a beautiful painting soop that little doggie looks so cute and cuddly! You’re such a talented lady, as you are too grandmabatty, your pictures are great and I’m sure we’d love to see the finished dimetredon - I probably should know this but is it a dinosaur?
Well another gorgeous day here, I’ve been to the gym for a splash around in the pool and then over the road to Starbucks for a coffee and a sandwich with my pal. Lots to catch up on and I really enjoyed my afternoon
It’s quick and easy pizza and salad for tea and then I’ll try to find something good to watch on the TV
Have a good trip out to Harrogate Shazza and hope your DGS enjoys his days out too
I’m glad it’s not just me that drops the book on my face in bed jax! ?
Brook yes, a dinosaur. How did you guess? ?
grandmabatty ? ? ?
I’m sorry for your loss, Maw.
That's a great dog portrait, soop, you certainly are very talented.
I do admire the clever people on here.
Warm wishes for you all, take care.
Good evening dear Kitcheners. I’m pleased to report the foot is pain free today
. Thank you all for the good wishes and thank you dustyangel for telling me about the tablets, I was able to tell the doctor I had heard of them and what they were for. I’ve started taking them today at the lowest dose and will be monitored monthly. Don’t overdo it Jax, Muse and others still recovering.
Beautiful portrait Soop you are very talented.
My exercise and eating plans have gone to pot this week, the chocolate is still safe as I actually haven’t felt very much like eating. Now I have more literature about what gout sufferers need to avoid and what foods don’t go with my new meds so I’m going to have to come up with some new menus anyway. Maybe I need to speak to a dietician. It’s all so complicated!
Have a peaceful evening, TOYA.

A lovely day in the sunshine, minding the grandchildren then a mani/pedi for me - much needed and now I’m ‘holiday sandals ready’ for Saturday afternoon’s flight. I cannot believe we are nearly through April. This year is just flying by.
Another wonderful painting of a canine friend soop you are so very talented!
Glad you got those tablets Blossoming. My stepfather has taken one a day for years and his gout never came back. A great preventative!
Thanks Urms, the doc was lovely and said to me ‘2 gout attacks in 12 months is 2 too many’ and I agree with him!
Blossoming DH had gout once, he was in agony you have my sympathy ((hugs))
You are one talented lady soop
I have had a lazy afternoon finishing a book, I am now ensconced on the sofa watching repeats of Heartbeat!
Just popping into the kitchen and to put the kettle on, a wee break from the gardening this afternoon. It’s still sunny grandmabatty and I’ve wafted some downwards towards you .. we’ve still got a cold breeze though so I’m well wrapped up. I’m just finishing off the last of the hot cross buns that were in the freezer
We’ve a bird in the garden that sounds just like a dripping tap - no idea what it is but it’s tcht tcht tcht all the time with a regular rhythm . The blue tits in the nesting box are flying to and fro building their little nest - they’re very busy just now
Thank you Brook. The sun has arrived but there is a sharp breeze. I've just had a visit from dd and the boys. Prewarned, so I visited Aldi and made leek and potato soup for dgs1. It's his special soup, according to him. I have some on the side if anyone wants some. A little, gentle pottering this afternoon. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.
Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. It’s a beautiful sunny day here with a stiff wind, though probably not as cold as yours Brook. Your DGS1 has good taste Grandmabatty, it’s my favourite soup too
The foot is pain free, no side effects of the tablets so far. I have been catching up on jobs, laundry drying on the line as it’s perfect drying weather. It’s very quiet here today, unusual on a sunny day. I think the schools are all back now.
Will check in later, TOYA.
Afternoon Kitcheners.A beautiful portrait Soop one of your best.
Condolences to you and family Mawthemerrier. My DDL’s father has dementia such a terrible disease. He’s in hospital with covid at the moment and is very confused. My DdL has now tested positive, who next we wonder!!
Had a busy day yesterday getting the garden summer ready so today is a rest day, nice to sit in the ? long may it last.
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.
Home again. The visit to the dentist was almost pain-free. We did some shopping and visited a gallery that sells a wonderful selection on greetings cards. I like to have a few selected for forthcoming birthdays.
We are also enjoying a warm, sunny day. Mr Soop is back in the garden. I shall join him at
time.
Yia when will ever be free from the threat of Covid? I am sorry to hear your news.
Blossoming Bravo! Long may you continue to be foot-pai-free.
Beautiful portrait Soop . I can almost feel the fur !
Just finished baking cinnamon rolls and enjoying one warm with a cuppa tea ! Heavenly weather here.
The recipient of the dog portrait will be delighted with it. I really envy your talent! I hope you are now having a well-deserved rest after polishing that halo.
Beautiful picture of you at 18. The whole family have your good looks!
Good afternoon lovely kitcheners.
Well another lovely day there’s just a chill out of the sun still.
Soop that’s a beautiful photo of you which I’m sure your son is very proud of.
Yiayia that’s so sad to hear that your DDLs father has covid in hospital as well as dealing with confusion from dementia. Heartbreaking for him.
Very pleased you are pain free Blossoming.
I’ll be joining you for leek and potato soup Grandmabatty I love it.
We are just back from a walk around Lincoln. We love it there. For those of you who know it well that Steep Hill is a toughie. Fine walking down but stopped for a rest back up. Pleased I didn’t have a glass of wine with lunch or DH would have had to drag me back up. I was in quite high boots as well. Big mistake.
Just sitting out in the garden with a cuppa now
My DD has just messaged me to ask how to cook beetroot. Bless her, have I not taught her anything lol.
Have a good afternoon ? speak soon.
Would you believe it? We are over half way through our newest kitchen. How time flies.
This afternoon has galloped along. I have not achieved very much worthy of note. On Saturday, I have to photograph a wee terrier dog in our village. She is my next portrait poser.
I meant to join Mr Soop for a
in the garden some time ago. I had therefore better get a move on or he'll be coming indoors and wondering what I've been up to.
Answer...not a lot.
Tomorrow is my favourite day of the week. Cannot think why. All days are so very much alike since we retired.
Keep well and safe and I look forward to a wee chat tomorrow.

soop - you look just like your Mum!
‘Evening All’
A busy but enjoyable day for us. Sunny but that wind was a bit nippy at times. Had to laugh - we’ve noticed in Urmston over this last week: plants put in tubs and troughs, pavements jet-washed (look very smart now restored to their pristine cream colour), main road outside closed to traffic from 8pm till 6am all this week as tarmac stripped back to cure deep potholes, relaid during the night and all junctions painted with white markings and double yellow lines as appropriate. Himself grinned this afternoon noting all this activity and said “there isn’t a council election coming up any time soon by any chance is there?”
?
So glad that you were able to see your doctor and that the medication seems to be helping Blossoming.
soop every time I see one of your pet portraits I think it better than the last and this latest is no exception. You could just pick him up and cuddle him.
DNephew told us yesterday that “son of Spock” is alive and well. This is a young dog that lives on the other side of the hill and we’ve never seen him but DN does regularly. The spitting image of ‘our’ Spock, he is apparently not owned by anyone. He has no collar but DN thinks that is deliberate on the part of the people who are feeding him and keeping him to guard their home and warehouse. With no registration they can’t be held liable for any damage he does. The trouble is he is quite likely to come to a sad end as he takes part in the local sport of chasing cars with any others who are allowed to run free.
Different country, different ways.
dustyangel I feel very concerned for "son of Spock". It bothers me a lot when an animal is at risk of injury.
Thank you for your kind comment. x
Urms The Kintyre potholes are notorious. One main road into Campbeltown and used by heavy vehicles. We have spent a small fortune on repairs to the suspension on our car.
Fennel Hello, again. Yes, I share a likeness with my late Mother. Sadly she died in her early sixties...breast cancer.
It is another glorious day. We walked this morning and drank in the heady fragrance of wild garlic that grows in profusion amongst the trees. The bluebells are beginning to put on a show. The wild Iris is about to bloom.
Away to watch a wee bit of Snooker and enjoy a
.
I am hoping that those of you lovely lot with sore feet or family members with symptoms of Covid are feeling more positive. The sunshine may help to lift your spirits.
Tomorrow morning, I shall be away to take photos of a dear wee terrier. She will be the subject of my next portrait.
At 8:30 this evening, I shall raise a glass of delicious, smooth red wine to you all. Enjoy your weekend in whatever way you're are able. The weather promises to be kind to the many Gransnet gardeners. Long may it last.
Night night. I shall return tomorrow. TOYA
