Evening everyone and happy Mayday.
I am envying you all your evening tipples, as I am babysitting the Little Treasures, and will be driving home later.
All this talk of sunshine is invoking jealousy, too - it's cool and grey here ? !

Blossoming Sun 01-May-22 22:49:31

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. I did drag my lazy bones out for a walk in the rain, and I enjoyed it. I love that soft and gentle summer rain, it smells fresh and it perks the plants up. The only problem is it makes it slippery underfoot and my balance, while getting better, isn’t perfect. I just took it slowly and carefully, I wasn’t going anywhere in particular. I’m enjoying a mug of hot chocolate and then it’s off to bed.
Goodnight all, sleep tight x

brook2704 Mon 02-May-22 12:38:47

It’s a wee bit chilly here this morning and the sun is struggling to come out so I’ve only had a short walk around the garden to see what’s been growing whilst I’ve been away
Take it easy when out and about Blossoming especially if it’s slippery!
I’m off out to do a bit of food shopping soon and will pop into DD2 house to see everyone too.
Hope the little treasures behaved chocolatelovinggran I wish I had that user name!

Grandmabatty Mon 02-May-22 12:44:23

It says 14° here but methinks it lies! It feels colder. I have made a pot of lentil soup and spent money on a new duvet, sheets etc for the new bed which arrives tomorrow. I managed to find a dinosaur duvet cover so dgs1 will be happy. This afternoon I intend to go through an enormous pile of instructions for every piece of furniture and every electrical item in the house. I am feeling quite tired today for some reason,so I'm taking my time. Have a good afternoon kitcheners.

Jaxjacky Mon 02-May-22 13:20:57

Grandmabatty I’m not surprised you’re tired after yesterdays achievement, a gentle afternoon is due.
Ibiza sounds wonderful Grannmarie I hope you have a really great time. And Shazza a holiday booked, how exciting and deserved.
It’s cool and grey here, I’ve watered the greenhouse and should really be weeding, I think snooker might win,

soop Mon 02-May-22 14:45:52

gillgran We both had our second boosters a short time ago. Like you, we are about the only members of our family who have not succumbed to Covid.
Mr Soop is debating the pros and cons of two methods of travel to the Glasgow hospitals for his cataract surgery. When he says that he's "thinking about his options", I keep quiet and leave him to decide. wink

soop Mon 02-May-22 14:55:17

Shazza The anticipation of a holiday is a treat in itself. Do you make lists?

Jax Judd has made a positive start to the afternoon's snooker. I am rooting for him.

Chocolatelovinggran I shall share last evening's delightful Kintyre sky with you. Like brook, I envy your user name. grin

Dogsmakemesmile Mon 02-May-22 16:24:24

Stunning photograph soop. Thank you for posting it. Quiet bank holiday here. Lovely morning in Edinburgh. Have rarely been in last two years. Lovely to amble round our haunts.
Dull but dry here. Wishing everyone a good and peaceful evening.

soop Mon 02-May-22 16:44:52

Dogsmakemesmile Edinburgh is our favourite city in the whole of the UK. We have spent many happy occasions there, including one big family get together. We shared a house within walking distance of the centre. Happy days.

soop Mon 02-May-22 16:48:11

Judd Trump is most certainly doing his best to make the snooker final unmissable. It takes courage to come back from a very disappointing previous day's session. I shall most certainly be cheering him on this evening. Come on, Judd. You can do it. grin

soop Mon 02-May-22 16:49:58

Mr Soop has reached a decision. We shall stay at the Premier in when he has cataract surgery. Our neighbour will house-sit and feed the creatures. It makes sound sense.

soop Mon 02-May-22 16:52:53

It is a beautiful, tranquil end of afternoon. The sea is flat calm. There is a little haziness over the islands. Time for a refreshing brew, methinks.

TOYA and wishing you a peaceful and pleasant evening. Until tomorrow...smile moon

ShazzaKanazza Mon 02-May-22 19:33:15

Good evening my dear Kitcheners. Hope you’ve all been well today.

Absolutely loving the sunset pics again Soop and it’s good to hear you and DH have come to the decision for his cattaract surgery and where to stay. I think I’m very envious of where you live Soop it sounds and looks divine.

I’ve bought a couple of tops for my up coming holiday but my shorts are all feeling a bit too snug. I thought I’d be really good and see if I can lose a couple of pound before going but then DH has taken me for an Indian. I don’t make lists Soop but I am a rubbish packer. I can never decide what to take so I put it all in. I’m always dead on my weight limit and then bring most of it home unused.

Blossoming when I went out in the garden this morning after a drizzly shower the smell was lovely. So sweet earthy and fresh I love it. We’ve had a Bullfinch all day who has taken up residence on one of the feeders, it’s still there now. So colourful. How wonderful is nature.

Have a lovely evening everyone speak soon x

muse Mon 02-May-22 19:33:34

Good Evening all kitcheners. I have much to read and will catch up with all before bed.

brook2704 I had a window seat too. There and back. We were sat right behind the pilot so MrM was really pleased to have the aisle seat. The SkyBus takes 19 passengers. We had a lovely black labrador ? for company on the return home.

I finally got to see Abbey Gardens on Tresco. It is such an amazing place and I never stopped taking photos. Glorious weather every day, with just a few clouds occasionally. Lots of fantastic food, mainly crab for me. Catching a boat between islands was much a kin to catching a bus here except the tide dictates when and where you jump on a boat. The photo shows one of the jetties on Bryher. The sand was a sparkly white.

The world gig championships started on our last day. We managed to see the first race and St Mary's ladies team win with their new gig Zelda.

I'd love to visit the islands again and take them at an even greater leisurely pace.

Sorry to read your post Yia. Thinking of you ? .

Glorious sunset soop, thank you but I will now raise my glass of G+T to you all and read the kitchen news.

Chocolatelovinggran Mon 02-May-22 20:00:07

Thank you for those lovely sunsets Soop. I live in a seaside town in East Kent, and can only see a sunset if I go to the next town as the geography gives me ? but not sunsets ✨

Grannmarie Mon 02-May-22 20:10:00

Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people, it's quarter to 9 in Ibiza! It's raining heavily!! Glad it was dry during the day. I have my feet up after a lovely day out and about, paddling in the sea, wining and dining...now catching up with everyone's news.

Forgive me if I don't mention everyone, but I have read all your posts.

Soop and Jax, glad you're enjoying the snooker. I don't follow it myself, but my connection is that I taught John Higgins' wife and her sister, lovely family.

Shazza, you will love Benalmadena! We've been a few times, stayed in the Best Triton Hotel on the front near the Marina. We loved our trips up to the Pueblo and Mijas. Lovely area.

Grandmabatty, your wee DGS will love coming to sleepover in his big boy bedroom with the dinosaurs ? on his bed! Please be gentle with yourself, I'm a great believer in alternating busy days with restful ones!

Brook, it sounds like you had a lovely time with your family, making lots of happy memories. You've got the travelling down to a fine art!

Blossoming ? ' just walking in the rain '???

Gillgran, like you, DH and I are the only ones who have avoided Covid in our extended family, we're very thankful.

Dustyangel I hope you are well and enjoying your Portuguese sunshine ?.

Dogs, isn't it amazing how our four legged friends adjust to our capabilities, or lack of them? They do understand.

Chocolate, I hope your little treasures were good as gold for you and you enjoyed a nice glass of something when you got home.

Muse, super photos, your holiday sounds amazing!

TOYA, NNGB ? ?

Jaxjacky Mon 02-May-22 20:12:34

Evening, sorry soop I would like Ronnie to win, love a bit of a maverick, I was pleased Judd won his semi.
Lovely pictures this evening, thank you soop and muse.
I did shift my btm and tacle the weeds with my hoe, I need to get the area barked, on my list.
Looks like the weather is going to warm up, more watering, wish it would rain overnight, that would be ideal.
MrJ back to work tomorrow, 6:30 alarm!
Enjoy your evening everyone x

I don’t think I’ve visited Soop’s kitchen before, but I can assure you that I’m kindly! I also love food and cooking. I made lemon ice cream yesterday and will make a barmbrack this week. This is our new favourite fruit cake and comes from a Felicity Cloake recipe in the Guardian. I’ve had a sort of an odd day. I did my first in-person Waitrose shop in months. I got carried away and bought a raspberry tart topped with rose wine jelly, chicken samosas, my favourite chicken, pork and ham pie. We were hoping to make final decisions on paint colours. We have more or less decided on the lounge but… this is how it’s looking for the kitchen and hall and landing:

Jaxjacky Mon 02-May-22 20:15:49

X posts Grannmarie you have my wish, sunshiney day, rain later, glad you’re having a great time.

Chocolatelovinggran Mon 02-May-22 20:32:49

Ladyleftfieldlover - what did you decide?
The current look is perhaps more Damien Hirst than Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen..

Blossoming Mon 02-May-22 20:47:01

Good evening lovely Kitcheners, it was raining here first thing but soon settled down into a dry but dull day. We have had a chilled bank holiday and spent quite a lot of it dawdling around the marina. It’s getting busy over there now the boating season is started. The swing bridge has been working overtime.

I have to be up very early tomorrow to go for a blood test, so it’s an early night for me. I’ll leave you with this yacht entering the marina. I could happily watch them all day.

Grannmarie Mon 02-May-22 21:18:37

Thanks, Jaxjacky⚡⛈⛈, we've just had a thunderstorm!

Grandmabatty Mon 02-May-22 21:53:29

Love thunderstorms Grannmarie! As long as no-one gets hurt! Lovely photos Muse. It looks like you have had a great time. Soop your sunset photos are gorgeous. I'd like to paint them. I've had a fairly lazy day and I'm off to bed early. See you all tomorrow.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 02-May-22 22:02:51

We haven’t decided yet, Chocolate loving gran!

brook2704 Mon 02-May-22 22:37:20
