Mine, at the moment, is a homemade cocktail and a cup of tea, with sips taken from each alternately. ??

Somewhere secluded, preferably close to the sea, lovely weather, unlimited access to books, music and good food - and surrounded by dogs and horses. That would suit me nicely...

curlywhirly Those are my two as well. The second one very specifically in the Campo in Siena, watching the passeggiata with a glass of prosecco and olives and crisps.

Sheltered corner of my garden on a sunny day, comfortable chair, feet up, good book and a cup of tea by my side or the same indoors without the sunshine!

Early morning/late evening walking barefoot across the South beach in Tenby hand in hand with my beloved.... The 3 dogs careering across the beach and in and out of the sea.... The sound of the waves lapping against the shore... Seagulls cry above. Then back to a pretty seaside cottage for freshly baked croissants and crispy bacon , tea and a crossword or if evening a glass of crisp Chenin Blanc..fresh fish and salad and Pembrokeshire new potatoes then watch the sun go down before going to bed and falling asleep with my head resting on his chest.
***Reality check...I can just about make it from the bed to the toilet after a hip replacement last Thursday.... but you did ask...lol.****

I almost had it last weekend . All 3 of my grownup children, plus their partners and children (16 of us altogether) sitting in the sunshine in the garden. I had a glass of Prosecco in my hand and looked at the older children all helping the younger ones to do Easter crafts and thought ‘Oh this is perfect’ The only bad point was that it had taken me most of the week to plan and cook food for them all - one vegan, one vegetarian, one dairy allergy, one gluten intolerant and one mayonnaise hater (I was planning salads) . If I could afford an excellent caterer then it would have been heaven!

Many years ago my bloke and I had a meal in the campo in Siena while watching opera Nabucco. When they sang Va pensiero waiters came out from all the restaurants holding flaming torches. It was magical and very emotional and never to be forgotten,

Waking up and discovering that the last 2+ years were just a dream/nightmare and my life has returned to its previous happy, fulfilling, anxiety-free existence.

God, I hate coat hangers! The way they all gang up against you when you are short of time.....

Living on my own for the amount of years I have left.. …. I have been looking after and been 24/7 carer to a person who doesn’t know who the hell I am …. That’s been 27 years now. I’m tired ! I want to be on my own!

Just my garden on a sunny day with the dogs playing and me in the greenhouse pottering.

HannahLoisLuke Fri 22-Apr-22 14:15:19

Lying in the long grass listening to a skylark twittering high above and a grasshopper climbing a stalk next to me with my dog lying nearby and my horse munching the grass.
This is a memory of a long ago childhood but it’s also my heaven.
