Mum has been living in a nursing home for nearly 2 years never been any problems.
Easter Saturday she had a fall in her room and was supposedly checked over.
On Friday she was taken into hospital with a problem with her bloods.
I had covid last week started good Friday so wasn't allowed into the home.
Today I've been able to visit her in the hospital where they have found that she has
a broken pelvis. It seems that she has been complaining about pains and how Ill she has been since the fall. Today she is very very Ill have been told that it could be a matter of time before she dies.
The hospital are bringing a safe guarding issue. I feel sick that mum was in so much pain.
Mum has full faculty. If they can treat someone who can communicate like this what about those that can't.
At the moment I am concentrating on mum but if and when she dies I will be contacting anyone and everyone regarding this terrible treatment.
I am so sad today.

Nanawind, they really are very good at pain control now.

My goodness the home have really messed up.
I was contacted yesterday by the welfare officer to check that mum was happy
in the nursing home. Is there any problems or concerns. Yearly review.
I explained that mum was in hospital and all her medical problems.
It seems that this officer went to the home on Monday to check on the paperwork
as the home at changed owners.
They didn't tell her that mum was in hospital. So she was going to report to her bosses.
(Poor woman she only started this job last month) After I told her everything.
Today a member of the access team phoned to check on the yearly review of mum.
And she didn't know anything either. Re finances.
It's a major safeguarding issue now. As this afternoon that team contacted me and
has asked that I don't have any conversation with any of the staff until the investigation
is complete.
Don't think mum will last that long as the nurse on her ward says that she is just sleeping
most of the time now.

Well, that's a blessing and a curse, both.
Your poor old mum, the person in the middle of this total mismanagement, though. flowers
Poor little soul.

Your mum is sleeping that will be because the pain she was in is being managed. It's an extremely difficult time but you do need to get some rest and take care of yourself.

Nanawind I can't imagine how dreadful it must be for you. When my mum was in hospital at least we could visit and see how she was for ourselves. I'm sure she will be getting the best care. The staff who looked after my mum when she was in hospital were wonderful. I do hope you get a chance to see her soon. Look after yourself .
