How often do you change your bedlinen?

Only if it’s a full moon and there’s an R in the month. So should be ok now until some time in September.

My grandmother, mother of 11 children, used to say that fresh bedding was a free luxury. I don’t think she has any other sort of luxury in her life. ?

All that washing and ironing!!!?

I was ‘shamed’ a year or so ago who when this subject came up. Couldn’t believe anyone changed bedding once a week.
The best I can do now is maybe 3 weekly; a great improvement on previous 5 or 6 weekly gap.

By coincidence I did it all today the sun was shining I knew it would dry but now when I am really tired after a long walk, (my new hip hurting a tad after 5,500 steps) I have the unenviable task of making up the beds. Again!

Have you ever stripped the whole bed then forgotten to put on the clean stuff until you go to get into bed?
So annoying, all dressed up in a clean nighty, then having to do an unexpected duvet wrestling session.

Yes I have MissA, more than once. Really really annoying isn’t it? I am off to do it now before I forget.

I thought that was when you could eat pork! Can't wait until September I know I am part Viking/Irish I could live off bacon, ham and pork. maybe a feast after washing the sheets in the stream and putting them into the field to dry.

As I sleep alone in a king size bed, I only change it when I feel like it. As I bath or shower every day, I don't think it needs doing once a week.

Weekly or thereabouts, I find putting the fresh duvet cover on a real chore though!!

I grew up with bed bugs, as did most of my road. They have nothing to do with bad hygiene.

At least weekly , all bedding, all towels, bath mat. Never more than one week between washes

Everyone that replies is going to say weekly or fortnightly occasionally. No one will admit to leaving it longer. Soon it will go on to towels, which people will probably say daily.

I don't do a whole change in one go anymore.
I do what looks grubby a week or so after I've noticed in as and when.

I've got some Scots too. Thrice timed blessed or damned.
I'll look for a nice clean shallow beck, it might have to be a drystone wall for the drying . I,ve just noticed they've let the cows out into the fields.

That makes three of us then so far. The suckling pig sounds delicious. Though I will have to find some of that stinky green soap my gran used and a scrubbing brush or we might get into trouble for polluting the water with detergents, never mind bed bugs..

This is sounding very promising! Do you have some nice smooth boulders for scrubbing the washing on? I seem to remember that urine (lye?) was used to whiten things years ago but could we give that a miss?

While I may ( force myself to) change bedlinen 2 , or more likely every 3 weeks I don’t do the quilt cover every time.
That is one step too far. I use a sheet in between quilt and myself so don’t feel the need.
Apart from my (hate hate) relationship with changing the beds, I actually love doing the laundry, sorting, hanging it outside properly, getting back in from the garden, I fold it all immediately so it’s not ironed but looks ok.
It really is my favourite part of housework.
I think the bedding thing may be because I am small so get tangled in the bedding which is enormous,

As I have said before, black sheets don’t show the dirt, or was that a question about towels?

I ask my boys to help.
My bed frame is high, with a tall "foot end" (whatever it's called!)
I can't hold my arms up and shake the quilt to try and get it in anymore.
The boys are tall with long arms.
It takes them minutes, and they smooth out any lumps.

I do love fresh sheets so very couple of weeks and I’ll be changing them again.
