Synonyms for ‘Fat’ that aren’t Cringeworthy…?

Hello! smile
I am fat.

But I do not like saying ‘I am fat’.

But neither do I like ‘curvaceous’ (probably the best of a bad bunch); ‘cuddly’ (bleugh); ‘curvalicious’ (give me strength); or the word de joure ‘thick’ (confused)

Can you think of any acceptable, non-cringe words for not being slender? Because I can’t

Thank you!

Broad?

I am broad. Even when I was super slim (7 stone - I reckon I’m double that now)
Big shoulders and hips

Womanly, I would say.
I'm a firm believer that this is how a grown female should look.

DGS2 described me as a bit chunky the other day. Chunky!! I can’t say I was thrilled, especially as I don’t think I am. Perhaps I’m deluded. smile

One of my GC told me I am more cuddly than when they were younger blush

I find it attractive to see people who look well nourished and err.. sturdy (!) for want of a better word.

Fanny How does 'well endowed' sound? Or even, 'rather well endowed'. smile

Where I live if you said a woman was well endowed you would mean they had large breasts and it would be thought of in the same way as saying what a pair of Knockers....sleazy.
They usually say"By she's a fine big lass", whatever the age, for women of a certain girth and build. It does sound a bit as if they are at the cattle auction as they would say the same about a cow or a pig as long as it was female. You can take it whichever way you want.

Yammy yes; and you get an approving and hearty slap on the rump!

"She's a big lass and a bonny lass" (Cushie Butterfield for those who don't know about the NE) I quite like "Big and bonny"

DH calls me an Oompaloompa. Good job I love him!

Out shopping the other week I saw a friend I hadn’t seen for sometime. She said “ You look well” I took this to mean I’d put on weight. She always was a bit bitchy ?

MissAdventure Thu 12-May-22 15:14:39

I always assume "well" means fat.
I think people probably avoided ever telling me I looked well.

I am in the middle of my Swedish death Clean and am at the moment, culling my work jackets ( CHanel style). I have only been retired six years, but have been hanging onto them, just in case.....
I have been trying them on and asking DH, what he thinks.
"Charity shop, they make you look very BUSTY." ?

Was any one else told by an obstetrician that they had " good child bearing hips "
Another euphemism for a big bum.smile

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 12-May-22 16:18:53

You would think I had jolly good childbearing hips but an X-ray done after an emergency C section showed everything is not always as it looks!

Luckygirl3 Thu 12-May-22 16:21:11

Statuesque?

M0nica

just say what size in clothes you are since you are talking clothes.

That's what I do. No need for any other description, it's what the clothes look like on you, no need to be more discriptive.

Lark123 Thu 12-May-22 16:30:53

grin Me too MissAdventure!

Snap! My pelvic girdle was explained to a group of students as if I wasn't there. After Mrs... C section and ex-ray we have found that her pelvis is like a rugby ball instead of the usual soccer ball.

MissAdventure Thu 12-May-22 17:04:16

I've usually said "do you mean I look fat?"
