Pantglas2 Sun 05-Jun-22 09:04:39

Just popping in to wish all the best for Baubles and AnnSixty DGD and indeed for anyone else with health worries at the moment ?

I’ve left some of my Welsh cakes and farm butter on the dresser ready for the ⚽️game this evening - it’ll be champers ? or ☕️ chamberpot of tea for Mr PG and me ???‍♀️

harrigran Sun 05-Jun-22 09:31:19

Just read about your DGD annsixty, so sorry she has sustained such a nasty injury, have faith in the experts.
Good news about Baubles.
Kind regards to all in the kitchen.

Blossoming Sun 05-Jun-22 09:36:53

Checking if there’s any update on your DGD Annsixty, hoping there’s better news for you.

Have a peaceful Sunday dear Kitcheners.

soop Sun 05-Jun-22 10:23:42

Dear Ann, both you and your beloved granddaughter have been through an awful ordeal. I am thankful that she has received the best possible medical care. The best news is that she is back at home with you. You are in our thoughts. flowers
Urms your message to Ann was most kind and thoughtful.

This is a fleeting visit. The villagers are coming together to celebrate the Jubilee in a marquee this afternoon. We have food to prepare. The day is perfect. Sun shining from a cloudless sky.

hulahoop Sun 05-Jun-22 10:23:52

Sending healing thought to you and dgd .*annsixty*.

annsixty Sun 05-Jun-22 10:36:41

Once again Thankyou all.
She is very distressed as are the family of the ? .
It is a dog she has known for several years and she has frequently take it out for walks when her other friend has her dog.
Never ever leave the friendliest dog with children,.
I have seen pictures this morning and the bite almost dissected her lip .
She was given the option of staying in and having it done in theatre today but she just wanted to be home , she has had many hospital stays and has developed a phobia.
She also has a needle phobia mostly developed when she had Meningitis as a three year old and was in hospital having daily bloods taken and injections although I seem to remember this all involved cannulas.
We are both so very grateful and thankful for your kindness xxx

NanaandGrampy Sun 05-Jun-22 10:50:01

Morning all,

Looking forward to a relaxing day after celebrating the Jubilee. Its been wonderful here with the whole village coming together for the most British of days , Punch and Judy, Face painting, stalls, food, beer and music from The Old Farts ( they were fab by the way :-) ).

Made all the better by having my family here too. It was chaotic and wonderful.

So sorry to here about your granddaughters terrible accident Ann , that sounds awful. She must be traumatised. I hope the dog will be put down , I make no apologies for that- a dog who bites will do it again. What an awful, awful thing for you both.

I am off to check what leftovers will grace our table today :-) ( there's plenty!!)

Happy day all x

Baggs Sun 05-Jun-22 12:31:00

Latest news on the baubles front; she says:

"I’m still on the ward but if today’s blood tests are still improving I may be discharged. The issue has been my liver which hasn’t been functioning properly so fingers crossed.
Thank you and all the gransnetters for your good wishes. Xx"

Fingers crossed for good blood test results!!

Kate1949 Sun 05-Jun-22 12:43:32

ann I'm not a poster on this thread but I do read it regularly. I just wanted to send good wishes to you and your dear granddaughter.

Bellanonna Sun 05-Jun-22 12:43:41

Thank you Baggs. Let’s hope the results are good so that Baubles can go home.

SueDonim Sun 05-Jun-22 13:07:47

Your poor GD, Ann. I hope your GD heals well - youngsters do recover remarkably well. Two of my DC have facial scars, one dd has them from chickenpox 20 years ago and the other has four scars from various accidents he had as a child. First one was at 14mths - it set the course he was to follow in life. hmm

We’re off to a jubilee tea party in our ‘home’ village. It’ll be a chance to say goodbye to folk, too, before we move on.

Grannmarie Sun 05-Jun-22 13:12:03

Thank you, Baggs, hoping and praying that Baubles will get home soon. She must be weary for her own bed by now.

Annsixty, I hope your DGD had some restful sleep, and gets the best follow up care necessary. Be gentle with yourselves for a day or two, take time to rest and recover from the trauma.

Wishing everyone a lovely Sunday. I'm looking forward to seeing my sisters later, they've been away for a fortnight and I've really missed them.

Yiayia4 Sun 05-Jun-22 14:08:09

So sorry to hear of your DGD Annsixty sending healing thoughts and hope she makes a quick recovery.
Fingers crossed for Baubles let’s hope she can come home.?
We have had 2 lovely days celebrating the Jubilee with our family. Today a quiet day planned, just as well as feeling a bit washed out after an optical migraine,I have had a few lately probably stress.Beef in red wine for dinner.Have a good evening all.

Wheniwasyourage Sun 05-Jun-22 16:27:35

What a nasty thing to happen to your DGD, annsixty. Sending her, and you, virtual hugs and flowers with best wishes for a quick recovery, both from the injury and the shock.

Just had almost the whole family slightly spread out over the past few days. Great to see them. The weather is still lovely here, so a lot of the washing is well on the way to being dry as a bonus!

Grandmadinosaur Sun 05-Jun-22 16:57:43

Thank you Baggs for the latest update on baubles and fingers crossed the blood test results are enough to let her get home.

I am so sorry about the distressing situation for your dear GD Ann and I hope she makes a good recovery. As someone myself who isn’t very brave with dogs it must have been a traumatic experience. Sending love and hugs to you both ?

Dogsmakemesmile Sun 05-Jun-22 17:26:18

Dear Annsixty my best wishes and love to you. I have faith that the NHS will be responding to your dear granddaughter's medical needs and will do the very best they can. I cannot imagine your shock and distress.
Hello to all. I have had a lazy weekend and have enjoyed dipping into the television and radio coverage of the Jubilee. I hope it brought joy to many. I am a Paddington fan and loved the breakfast he shared with the Queen.
Take care.

soop Sun 05-Jun-22 18:01:04

Home after a happy gathering of friends in the village. We all sat in the sunshine. The marquee was decked with bunting and trestle tables laden with delicious food donated by the villagers. The village choir sang a selection of songs including 'Danny Boy', 'Rule Britannia'. 'Flower of Scotland' and other well-loved tunes, as a local friend played on the electronic organ. There were competitions and games for children. It was a lovely event. It was a great pleasure to be all together on such a special occasion.

Thank you for the update, Baggs. We all want to hear that our Baubles is back where she belongs. Hopefully, that may be soon. The card is in the post to your address. Thank you for agreeing to add the names of her many friends and well-wishers.

N&G Yia Grannmarie Wheniwasyourage I am VERY happy to hear that you've had special, family days.

annsixty I appreciate that your granddaughter did not wish to linger in hospital. She has you by her side. There can be no-one of a greater comfort to her at this time. Try not to unduly tire yourself.

Kate1949 Welcome. flowers smile

On Coronation day, I was eleven. We had a street party. It rained. I was dressed as Robin Hood. My younger sister was a squaw. We had our first television. Neighbours piled into the tiny "parlour" to watch the Coronation in black and white. Children were treated to glasses of fizzy Tizer. In spite of the rain, it was a memorable occasion. I shall never forget it.

Night night for now. I shall return tomorrow. My thoughts are with all of you who are unwell or concerned for loved ones. smile moon

Hellogirl1 Sun 05-Jun-22 18:53:44

Ann, all my best wishes are winging their way to your granddaughter.
Great to hear the news about Baubles, thang you Baggs.
Soop, you stirred my memory! Coronation day was the day after my 10th birthday, I was a bit peeved because it wasn`t on my birthday. We didn`t have a TV, not many folk did, but about a dozen of us squeezed into my Auntie Clara`s front room to watch on her 10" screen TV. Can`t imagine a 10" telly now, lol!

ShazzaKanazza Sun 05-Jun-22 19:00:32

annsixty I’m so sorry to hear about your DGDs trauma. I can imagine you are distraught! Just can’t imagine what you are all going through. ? my thoughts and prayers are with you x

Pittcity Sun 05-Jun-22 19:14:09

Glad to hear that Baubles is on the road to recovery.
Hoping that Annsixty's DGD is on that road soon.
I am very jealous of the weather up North as it's been windy, cold and wet here. We wrapped up well in waterproofs as we were determined to enjoy our street party.
There is plenty of cake leftover for the kitchen.

brook2704 Sun 05-Jun-22 19:15:37

What a lovely friendly village you live in soop so pleased you had such a good day
Poor DH has now eventually succumbed to Covid - he’d managed to dodge it for so long but after feeling tired and headachy for a couple of days he tested positive this morning. He’s not too bad though thank goodness and he’s been sat outside in the garden for most of the afternoon reading. I’ve already had it so I’m hoping I won’t get it again
Thinking of you and your your DGD annsixty and hoping she’s feeling a bit better today.
Hoping baubles is home soon!

Jaxjacky Sun 05-Jun-22 19:58:52

What is this sunshine thing? No sign here in south Hampshire, clouds all day, then rain. Supposed to have lamb chops for dinner, they morphed into Indian takeaway, oops.
Thank you again Baggs* for the update, fingers crossed tests are all A+.
I hope your GD now feels safe annsixty it will all take time, your comforting presence and love will be the best medicine.
I’ll wish you all a gentle evening x

mrshat Sun 05-Jun-22 20:55:43

AnnSixty I'm so sorry to hear about your granddaughter. What a dreadful thing to happen. Thankfully she was treated quickly and well and hopefully will have a good and fast recovery. Rest well, both of you and support each other. Thoughts and prayers flowers
