Annsixty...I am so glad your DGD is back home with you. I don't know whether it will help but I had an old keloid scar on my arm and the doctor told me to use bio oil on it and now it's just a fine white line. Now I use it on any cuts as soon as they have healed over including the 6 week old hip replacement scar which is now a fine line. Also I think it's Katie Piper Foundation who advises on how to disguise scars too. Maybe they could make some suggestions that might boost her confidence. I'll keep you both in my prayers along with Baubles that she is back home soon. I'm so glad you've all had a fabulous few days celebrating the jubilee.... It's been so lovely to see communities coming together all over the country. We all needed this after the last 2 years didn't we?.

Thank you soop

Sending virtual healing hugs to Mr Brook

Hellogirl Our television had a 10" screen. My parents bought (or rented it) for the big occasion.

It is all very quiet in the village after yesterday's jollies. I confess to eating far too much. We didn't need an evening meal. However, Pittcity, I could be tempted to a wedge of your cake. It's a blessing that I am too far away to pester you for a slice. grin

annsixty flowers for you and your granddaughter.

Baubles May you return home soon.

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. I’m afraid I have no coronation memories as I was still a bump in my mother’s tum. It’s been very quiet here today, the weather is not so good. Mr B took the car for its first service, a very different experience with all the computerisation nowadays. No mechanics in oily overalls, just plug it into the diagnostics and things are read, reset, tested, etc. I have been catching up on a few chores and making a chicken Madras in the slow cooker for later. So sorry your DH is unwell Brook.

I hope your DGD is getting over her ordeal and is not in too much pain AnnSixty.

Mr. B’s sunflowers are blooming so I thought I’d share one with you.

soop Mon 06-Jun-22 16:42:18

Blossoming Thank you for a most joyful photograph.

soop Mon 06-Jun-22 16:53:58

Two images of the pet portrait. One photo taken with flash. The other, not. Colours are difficult to replicate on the screen.

soop Mon 06-Jun-22 16:56:36

Away to prepare a pudding for Mr Soop's evening meal. Naturally, I am not allowed such luxuries. My waistband remains on the snug side. wink

Until tomorrow smile moon

Hello to you all, I'm back, after being away without internet. It was Very windy on the Nfk coast, then Sunday it was heavy rain & so cold that we needed the heating on!

I've enjoyed all the Jubilee celebrations on TV, ( I just miss keeping up with you all, having no internet connection at our little abode by the sea!).

Lots to catch up on here.

That's a lovely pet portrait, soop, you do capture the character of your subjects so well.

annsixty, I'm sorry to hear of your dear grand-daughter's distressing trauma, I send healing thoughts for her.
Take care of yourself too.

Thank you Baggs for the updates, we hope that baubles continues to make good progress & is soon home.

Good wishes to your DH, brook, fingers crossed that you don't succumb to Covid again.

Warm wishes to you all.

Thank you soop and blossoming DH is much better today
After a cloudy start this morning the sun has appeared and it’s another gorgeous sunny day. I went to the gym earlier for a Zumba class but couldn’t stay for a swim as the pool was closed - apparently there’s a shortage of chlorine! Hopefully some will arrive soon though. Anyway I came home and started the gardening - so lovely when the sun is shining
Gorgeous portrait soop you really are such a talented lady
Love the sunflower picture too blossoming - are they out early as I think ours are much later up here
Hoping things are a bit better for your DGD annsixty ?
Take care all and have a lovely evening

brook2704 Mon 06-Jun-22 18:02:44

Good evening Kitcheners. Brook I'm sorry to hear about your husband's bout with covid. Fingers crossed that it goes quickly. Soop a lovely portrait. Annsixty I hope your granddaughter recovers quickly. A huge shock for you both. I have been spending time with dd and the boys today. A trip to town after nursery and coffee and cake. It's been lovely and sunny here and a bit cooler with a breeze. I'm waiting for the potatoes to boil then it'll be beef casserole and mash. Tomorrow I plan a quiet day home. I've been saying that for days and it hasn't happened yet! Have a good evening all.

Another dull, grey day with the odd, brief shower, not very June like. Cleaning and admin, not venturing far until the warning light in my car is fixed on Thursday.
Our sunflowers are way behind that pretty Blossoming., pretty is your portrait too soop.
Pleased your DH is not too bad brook just when we think it’s all over..
I’ve just griddled lamb chops, smoky kitchen…
So, I’ll bid you au revoir, hoping for good news from Ann and about baubles x

Liamsnana Mon 06-Jun-22 19:50:06

Another damp grey day again , almost put the heating on lol
Made DH and DGS a nice chicken curry with my own home grown chillies , probably a bit to spicy but amazed my DGS are it and really enjoyed it , love the fact he will try anything at such a young age , though not looking forward to tommorrow x

Hello everyone. I’ve had a reasonably exhausting day looking after my six year old granddaughter. Well, I took her to school and collected her at 3.15 pm. For the rest of the day I had lunch at Kew Gardens and went a little mad in the shop. It is such a wonderful shop! Then, for the first time in two months I had a migraine. I quickly took a sumatriptan and had a rest. Then as I was walking to the school, I developed another one. I had no water on me so had to buy a bottle from an ice cream van parked near the school. A little later we went to Pizza Express. I wasn’t really hungry but granddaughter was ravenous as she hadn’t eaten much lunch. Finally back home and after a shower and a game of UNO, she is in bed. Her parent’s flight was only a little delayed and they’re now safely in Venice. I think they might have booked two different flights to come back - one Easy Jet and the other Whizz. Waiting for the result of the Vote of Confidence.

DGC are here and DGS has had a bad dream so he is asleep at the bottom of our bed. I am struggling to get back to sleep, of course.
The forecast for tomorrow is dry, so I shall garden. On Wednesday it is due to rain, so ironing and housework. Well, that’s the plan!
I hope you are all sound asleep!

kittylester Tue 07-Jun-22 08:18:50

Just popping in to see how everyone is.

Hoping Topsy got back to sleep. Back later.

baubles Tue 07-Jun-22 08:50:10

Lovely kitchen people, I am so grateful for all the kind thoughts, prayers, and healing vibes sent my way recently. Special thanks to my friend Baggs for letting you know how I’m doing.

I am truly thankful to be alive.

Jaxjacky Tue 07-Jun-22 08:52:33

It’s lovely to see you here baubles.

Blossoming Tue 07-Jun-22 09:23:22

Good morning dear Kitcheners. It’s sunny here, hoping to spend some time in the garden. Hope your DGD is feeling OK today AnnSixty. I can’t help thinking it must have been very frightening for her.

annsixty Tue 07-Jun-22 09:41:18

Good morning all and a big Thankyou for your continuing good wishes for my GD.
She is still very distressed by the situation I am afraid.
She has never accepted her cleft and now another scar is making her very down.
The swelling is slightly down today and I hope it all looks somewhat more positive as time goes on.
She goes back to the hospital on Friday morning.
She does not have contact with her mother and I am getting the brunt of it all.
Hey ho as they say.
So pleased to see Baubles back and hope she progresses steadily.
Let us all seize the day and be thankful.

ixion Tue 07-Jun-22 11:19:36

Yay - welcome back baubles.
