Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey but a dry start here in brackley this morning .
Yesterday , I did see the Top Gun Sequel, it was worth seeing , plus also shown as a trailer a film about Elvis's early years with Tom Hanks.
I caught a bus prior to film start ,and also returned earlier than planned when film had finished .
Today , a shop in Bicester the last one before the public holiday as bus services will not be running there as its a Sunday service .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dull E Kent.
Much better day, though DH spent the morning dozing.
I was busy all day, having had the cleaner, the gardener, a delivery of bags and a supermarket shop before lunch.
In the afternoon, I had promised cakes for Philip’s girlfriend’s MS jubilee party tomorrow. So I made 2 Bakewell tarts, 2 chocolate layer cakes and 24 iced coffee and walnut fairy cakes + a lemon meringue pie for us. I was pooped.
Hope Urms and Co had a good flight, Ash’s return from a good holiday. Special mention for Marydoll and hope her trip to A&E was successful and wasn’t too traumatic.
Good wishes to all in need. Carpe diem ?????

Hola, buen dia from ?? where I’m up and exited to be going on a Ladies outing on the bus to Malaga where we’ll shop, scoff and enjoy the odd sherbet...??????. The menfolk have been invited to join us at the bar near the bus stop ? as we stagger alight this evening ?‍♀️

Marvellous that you enjoyed Top Gun Mick, it does appear to have good ratings! Belated anniversary greetings to LLFL and DH and ? for Susan56 DH and anyone else with something lovely to celebrate ?

Hope you’re enjoying north Wales BlueBalou and the weather is kind for your outings - I’ll get LauraNorderr at the Anglesey weatherbarn to send some ?? - she has loads stashed away but can be a bit measured with her deliveries...?

Hope Urms posts to let us know they’re getting over the airport hurdles - I’m sure it’s forgotten by now ?

Hope all with health worries have an easier day ?

Good morning from our hotel in the middle of France. We will be on our way after breakfast and hopefully home this evening.
The journey is long and tiring but we have had a brilliant holiday.
Kind thoughts to all who need them.
Have a lovely Tuesday. Last regards from France xx

Glad you enjoyed your film Mick its one DH would watch but will wait till on DVD unless he goes on his own.
Hope Marydoll didn't spend to long in A&E and she's back home on the road to recovery.

Morning Mick, morning All from a very damp corner of Somerset, chilly too.

Funny old day yesterday, bit flat, hoping for better things today as we’re off to see our Littlest and his minders after lunch.

Pleased you enjoyed the film mick. Goodness grandmattie, that was a marathon bakeathon after a busy morning. Been thinking about marydoll and hoping there was some ease for her yesterday. The reports of airport queues had me crossing my fingers for urms and anyone else travelling. Definitely an enjoyable day ahead pantglas.

Take care everyone. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Good morning from an iffy Leicestershire.

Having our water feature installed this morning while the cleaning fairies work in the house. This afternoon tea with friends.

Pleased your day was successful Mattie. I don’t know where you get the energy.
Hoping Marydoll is okay and back home.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning everyone from a cool and grey Northampton; the heavens opened yesterday evening and it felt really cold so the heating went on.

Had a good shopping day in Milton Keynes yesterday, and a lovely Italian lunch out, with wine. Came back laden; I tell myself I am making up for all the time spent at home during lockdown..... Anyway, I now have some nice stuff for my cruise. Didn't need to cook yesterday evening, just had a bowl of soup.

A morning of catching up on jobs I should have done yesterday, and hopefully a health walk this afternoon, but heavy showers are forecast.

Waiting to hear how Marydoll got on in A&E yesterday.

May all with troubles and cares find them eased today.

Beechnut Tue 31-May-22 06:55:12

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s damp and grey.

My arm is feeling stiff this morning from my jobs yesterday but all is ready for the tip run. Today I won’t do as much physical work.

Wishing you all a good day ??

Pittcity Tue 31-May-22 07:01:17

Good morning from a rainy Colchester. A cool, damp day forecast.
DH left at stupid o'clock to drive a minibus load of Air Cadets on a day out. I am spending my usual Tuesday at the charity shop. I wonder if half term payday will mean more customers?
Curry with pork left from Sunday tonight.
Love to all ? x

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 31-May-22 07:02:48

Morning all from Cardigan Bay. The weather has certainly cooled. We are meeting old friends for lunch today. We haven’t seen them since November 2019 because of the pandemic. ???for GM and Mr GM.

Jaxjacky Tue 31-May-22 07:04:53

Morning from a chilly, 8, S Hants, dry for now.
You exhaust me gMattie.
Safe last leg Sar.
Sounds like a fun day Pantglas, enjoy.
I’m glad you enjoyed the film Mick I can remember being blown away by the first one.
Yesterday was cold and wet, I only ventured out briefly, must get fuel for my car today, pop in the butchers to check collection of bbq bits later in the week and I’m off to lunch with a friend.
Enjoy your day all ??

ShazzaKanazza Tue 31-May-22 07:10:14

Good Morning Mick and everyone where it appears to be a dull morning here in East Yorkshire. We have a lot of showers forecast today.

I’m pleased you enjoyed the film Mick. My son went to see it last weekend despite never seeing the first one which shocked his older girlfriend. He enjoyed it very much.

grandMattie I really admire you so much. You are going through all the stress with your DH and yet you can bake up a storm when needed too.? We have family over for the weekend and I’m thinking I’ll need to make a banana loaf and chuck some chocolate cornflakes into bun cases. That’s my baking as good as it gets.

Pantglas have a great day in Malaga. We really enjoyed the city when we were there last week. Had a horse and carriage ride and explored the gorgeous little streets and architecture and enjoyed a beautiful glass of red wine in a little Bodega. ? cheers x

I’m picking up my Mum and dog and taking her to her caravan at the coast where she will spend the next two weeks.

Take care everyone enjoy all your activities and thoughts to those with illness and worries. ??

Grandmadinosaur Tue 31-May-22 07:12:32

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It is 8 degrees brrr.

Thank you for your good wishes yesterday. I’m sorry to say it didn’t go to plan and my procedure didn’t go ahead. This was down to my blood pressure being sky high. I was shocked and devastated. Still am this morning. I have never suffered with my bp before only in pregnancy. I have some meds from my GP I am starting today.

Take care everyone.

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Ibiza where the sun’s up and we are again forecast 31°C! It’s lovely being back here but the chaos at Manchester airport was every bit as dire as is being reported in the media. With over 3 hours delay it meant we didn’t get to bed here until after 2am. My poor stepfather looked absolutely shattered in the taxi. Lack of staff was most apparent. I felt as sorry for the super hardworking staff who were there as much as us passengers treated like cattle.

Queues everywhere, people dozing on their bags on the floor as there weren’t enough seats. Huge queues for any bars serving food, we gave up on all of them but even Boots had shelves empty of any sandwiches or water. Aargh! No water in W H Smith. Himself eventually managed to get some from a vending machine off the main drag.

Never mind, we’re here. Off down for breakfast now - our hotel has the best view with the beach just across the road and we all have breakfast together on the terrace while the sun isn’t too scorchio! I had toasted sourdough with avocado and smoked salmon yesterday. I could get used to this life of no food shopping, prepping and cooking ha!

dragonfly46 Tue 31-May-22 07:23:23

So pleased you got there Urms the airport sounds horrendous but worth it.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 31-May-22 07:29:39

Good morning all from wet Harrogate - a great day to go to the hairdresser and I don’t think! Got to get a move on. I don’t know where you find the energy GrandMattie
Hope Marydoll is on the road to recovery.
This afternoon we have been invited to afternoon tea with some neighbours which will be lovely, pity about the weather though.
Sar your holiday sounds marvellous, but you will probably be glad to be home
Have the best day possible folks

NannyJan53 Tue 31-May-22 07:31:29

Good morning from a rainy Black Country.

We are back after a week away in the caravan to Bude. We were quite lucky with the weather. Had a lovely sunny trip to Padstow, where although it is early in the season it was very busy. Photo is Padstow harbour.

The usually washing today, and some admin.

Blimey Urms we are off to Rhodes in June from Birmingham Airport, I hope we don't experience the same. We flew to Lanzarote from there in March, and we sailed through. No queues whatsoever. Now you are there I wish you a really lovely time with the family.

I have missed all your news as no wifi on caravan site, so sorry to see that Marydoll was in A & E. I hope she is back home now and is ok.

Wishing you all a good day.

Susan56 Tue 31-May-22 07:32:13

Good morning from Shropshire.Weather isn’t great which is a shame as all the family will be here to celebrate DH’s birthday.Hopefully the children will be able to get into the garden at some point or heaven help the house?

Grandmadinosaur, I am so sorry your procedure didn’t go ahead. What a shock about your blood pressure.Try and relax, easier said than done after unexpected health news I know?

Wow, grandMattie that was a baking marathon.Hoping for a relaxing day for you today.

Have a brilliant day Pantglas????I have been hoping to hear from Urms as well??they are now settled in their holiday hotel.

Marydoll, hope you are home and on the mend???

Thinking of you all and hoping everyone has the best day they can??

Urmstongran Tue 31-May-22 07:32:16

Best way to look at it dragonfly. At one stage the Boy Wonder sighed and said “this is boring”. I channelled my inner late mum and replied “it’s the same for everyone in here, don’t you think we’re all bored?”. Not a peep after that. ?

Susan56 Tue 31-May-22 07:34:59

Glad you are all safely in Ibiza Urms and sorry you had such a dreadful time at the airport.

I hope your stepfather is feeling better and wishing you all a brilliant holiday???

kittylester Tue 31-May-22 07:36:41

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire where it has started to drizzle.

I am going to an AgeUk (Dementia Service) volunteer event today. Part training, part a thank you and lots of socialising. DH is off to the cricket this evening.

Sending support and love to all who need it!

Urmstongran Tue 31-May-22 07:37:09

We were the same as you in March off to Malaga NannyJan - from taxi, through passport control and security and out into the airport lounge only took an amazing 15 minutes then. But it’s half term now, there are loads more flights and the staff are stretched too thinly. ‘Belts & shoes’ as I call the scanning area only had 2 scanners operational out of a possible 8. You can only imagine the tailback.

grandMattie Tue 31-May-22 07:37:27

When the children were young, I used to collect stuff for them, put them into bags. They knew exactly what was in them, but we’re only allowed to pick one thing per hour and read/play with them. They knew the rules and were content with that. It worked even on 16 hour flights!

BlueBalou Tue 31-May-22 07:37:37

Good morning everyone!
Thank you Pantglas, we’re having a great time although the DDog, DGCs and I got drenched walking at Ynyslas yesterday morning- I had to phone DS to come and rescue us! It was a lovely sunny day once the storm passed.
DS wants to do an 80km bike ride today so I’ll take everyone off to the nature reserve with a picnic.
Here’s hoping for sunshine ☀️
