I guess in those circles these things still matter. Doesn’t affect the rest of us and I couldn’t care less what they do with their gloves.

Some of the dresses in the shops are so frumpy looking I’d rather wear last year’s clothes.

I couldn’t believe how old Freddie Windsor looks now! I expected the blond boy I remembered!

With so much else to worry about surely it would make sense to have your gloves on strings through the arms of your coat

Harris one of my favourite summer dresses is 15+ years old. I love wearing it and it’s so soft and comfortable now.

It's a surprise to me that people still give a hoot about 'the correct dress code for ladies'.

I’m just catching up with this thread and that really made me laugh.

I was taught a lady carries her gloves in the same hand as her clutch bag which would have to be the left hand if you were expected to be shaking hands.

I went to a very posh wedding when I was fifteen and did as instructed. One of the ushers who I fancied like mad offered to hold my gloves for me and I never saw them again.

I used to dream that a jealous girlfriend found them in his pocket and broke off their relationship.

They more than likely ended up in the bin! ?
