This is a picture of Meghan's father, half-sister and half-brother. Meghan's half-brother, Thomas, appears to have red hair, which means he must have inherited a recessive gene from his father. That means that Meghan's father must also be carrying a recessive red-hair gene.

They did not have a photographer. This photo was taken candidly by one of the friends attending the birthday party.

And they respectfully waited until AFTER the jubilee to post it online.

A friend who is a professional photographer who undertakes a lot of high profile work. Of course they were going to merch it. The RF are one step ahead of them.

So? I am a photographer. I take lots of photos when with friends and family. I give them to them all the time. I even post some on social media. though no one care who my kids are.

How do you know they were going to take a photo of the Queen meeting Lili and were going to merch it? Were you in the room? Or was it "sources inside the palace"?

People of the world want to see the kids. They do with the Cambridges and they do with the Sussex's. Heck, I even looked through the photos of the kids with Eugenie and Beatrice.

They are all lovely kids and Lilibet looks just like her dad. Wish we would have caught a glimpse of Archie too.

A photo with Great Grandmother would have been nice.

She has Harry’s eyes and colouring, but otherwise looks like a Markle.

Beautiful, and obviously enjoying herself at her party. It's a shame we don't see her with other family members, particularly her cousins, but I understand why. Maybe Archie was behaving like Louis somewhere in the garden and pulling faces, and that simply wouldn't look good on camera!

I have just had a quick look at the Daily Mail and I’m afraid they’ve written their usual anti H&M tirade! Just awful.

And yet, my mother and her family are red-haired going back many generations, my children's father has red-haired uncles/aunts, and none of their descendants- children/grandchildren/gt grandchildren are red (though my son was born red, went blond and stayed that way, but with a red beard). Most of the Spencer grandchildren are blond, though Lady Sarah's son is red. None of William's kids is red. The chances of their having two red-haired children are very, very slight. None of the Markles or Raglands have claimed red hair to the best of my knowledge. Very interesting to hear from a geneticist who really knows about this stuff.

So what conclusion have you arrived at?

Lovely picture. Our eldest daughter has red hair,a shock when she was born but then we realised an aunt of mine and a relative on my husbands side had red hair so we must both carry a recessive gene. Our daughter had a serious heart condition and when she was in hospital it was noticeable that many of the children in the ward had red hair. Speaking about this to one of the doctors he said many red headed children had heart defects though as far as he knew no research had been done to see why that might be, that was 50 years ago so maybe there is some evidence about it out there now.

Sweet little girl - I think she's got Harry's eyes (as well as his hair, of course). Pity she hasn't got Meghan's lovely eyes.

H and M’s children have gorgeous red hair. I’ve always liked this colour and don’t understand the ‘Ginger’ business. True I’ve always tried to copy it with tints, sadly nowhere as good.

Sweet little girl, I see Harry's colouring and Thomas Markle's eyes, children's looks change over the years so hard to say at this stage which parent she will take after the most.

She is lovely has Harry’s colouring. I just read that Harry and Megan wanted their photographer to take pictures when they took Lili to meet the Queen and were told No in no uncertain terms, as it was a private family visit.

If that is so I think it's very sad. Lillibet won't remember this visit and it's unlikely that the Queen will live to see her grow up. Photos of them together would have been something for her to treasure when she is older.

The trouble is, no one trusts H & M not to sell any photos of the Queen to the highest bidder. All trust must now be gone.

No it isn't - DD complains that it brings out her freckles which are not always evident.

Such a shame posters have to find something to snipe about.
