Harry and Meghan have been accused of 'enormous hypocrisy' after flying back to California from the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in a 'Russian oligarch-style' private jet.

The eco-preaching Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to their £11million Montecito mansion with their children Archie and Lilibet on a gas-guzzling Bombardier Global 6000 before the grand finale of the Jubilee pageant even began on Sunday.

Bombardier is an 'ultra long range' 13-passenger private jet which comes with its own 'private stateroom' that features a flatbed and can travel more than 6,000 miles without stopping. It is not clear who paid for the £160,000 flight.

I don’t think that at all, and have never castigated Harry and Meghan, but I do agree with *Whitewavemark’s comment about the hardwiring that guides children to behave/misbehave in certain ways at certain ages. I’m actually glad that Louis behaves exactly as you’d expect a four year old to do - it’s not normal for them to sit like little lambs at that age unless they’ve been brought up in an authoritarian way.

So amusing reading these last posts, reminding me of the comment a kind lady made to me in Asda many years ago when my 4 year old daughter threw a wobbly at checkout after being told no sweets until after lunch.

The cashier passed comment on DD’s bad behaviour as I was paying and the lady next to me sneered at the woman in a very loud voice “Easy to bring up other people’s children - it’s our own we have problems with!”

Still true eh?

So true WWM2 DH and I are currently wrangling a 2 1/2yr old GC, youngest of all cousins on both sides of the family.

It’s tiring but rewarding watching them grasp ideas, how they roll play they just about manage the cinema for a child’s film (not including the trailers and adverts)

We are used to it, when you walk into posh restaurants with children or turn left on a entering a plane, let’s return to the dark ages when children were seen and not heard.

What I find strange about the visit is Harry's lawsuit against the Home Office for high-level royal security yet the bullet proof windows in the Royal car they were travelling in were wound down so Megan could be seen and wave - they did not keep under the radar enough for me, their betrayal of the Royal family is unforgiveable and sadly the actions of the parents will have repercussions for their children.

Ah yes, blame the mother. She’s the only person involved in raising a child. The father has no influence, neither do siblings or school and nursery.

If that’s the worst that Louis ever does, he’ll be a paragon of virtue compared to many small children. All that noise at the parade would have sent me potty, tbh.

Half of the under-fives in town here on Saturday seemed to have been afflicted with whatever was bothering Louis. I’ve never seen/heard so many tantrumming children at one time! None of them were hit around by parents, that I could tell. Some parents were trying to reason with their child (as if you can reason with a 3/4yo if they don’t want to be reasoned with!) and another resignedly tucked their screeching child under their arm and carted them away.

OK then. I expect that the Royal Household, with all the resources at their disposal, would have the wherewithal to raise children who could be relied on in public to not behave in unacceptable ways, showing disrespect to their elders. Even if they are only four.

I would have expected the Royal Household to have planned out various scenarios, and have a contingency for when any of the children got over tired (or whatever the excuse is) so that they could leave the stand for a while.

I would have expected the Royal Household not to expect the 4 year old to sit through all those marching military people but to come into the seats when the lively and colourful part of the parade came along.

You simply don’t get it.

A 2 year old behaves in a particular way

A 3 year old behaves in a particular way

A 4 year old behaves in a particular way..

And do on

They are hard wired to mature in a certain way. Every human child goes through the same maturation process. It is perfectly normal.

Managing that behaviour that clashes with societal expectations ( which are not hard wired) is the challenge. That is where the necessary boundaries come in. 4 year olds are hard wired to challenge those boundaries. That is also where parenting comes in to set and keep the boundaries and hope (?) you can hold the line.

yes.. it was explained at the time that photographers stick their own tongues out at the royal children to get the same response back.....
happened with charlotte a couple of years ago. not good is it.
